Re: NaNoWriMo
I'm pretty amazed. I'm ahead on the first day. I just hope I'll be able to keep it up. 2550 words so far. I've got a few more hours to plod through it. I'l love to reach 5000, that would be fantastic. 10% of the word count completed on day 1. Oooh I'm feeling sooo positive about this month now

Damn you! (kidding - way to go girl! *high5*)
2795 and taking another break. Just re-read through and edited some stuff (I know I shouldn't ... but I'd missed a few plot-points)
Re: NaNoWriMo
I'm just now sitting down to start writing. Its the first chance I've had all day besides writing thoughts in a notebook. Honestly, I didn't even know what I was going to write about until yesterday, and I didn't have any details until today... Luckily most of the background has already been hammered out over the past 8 years...
EDIT: 1,900 words for tonight. I think that's enough. Probably my most horribly writing ever...but what can I do when I feel like I have to rush and I can't edit? Oh well.

I know what you mean. My natural OCD need to edit as I go has to be tossed aside just to pound out the word count. It's going to make me twitchy, I can just tell. LOLs

Re: NaNoWriMo
Inner-editor is screaming at me Just hit 4,267 words and am having weak/scared moment. Giving it a break til I get over the idea of being outside my comfort zone of under 5k.
Got a snippet posted up over on AWR for any interested in reading it. Here's the link: http://awritersrecluse.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=nnwm&action=display&thread=2363
Enjoy Please don't critique it. I'm already having trouble with my inner-editor and not going back to fix terrible mistakes.

Re: NaNoWriMo
Gosh I just sat down and started writing and I have NO idea where I'm going. I sort of do but I'm hoping that I figure more stuff out before I actually continue on with this because right now there are soooo many questions running through my thick skull that I don't even know what's going to happen!
So far the 355 words that I do have are pretty good I think.

5111... let's make a start on Chapter 3. The aim is to get 2 pages of it done today, 2500 or so words?

Chapter 2 down at 6829
Not worried about plot running out any more. I still have a huge amount to go - some bits unplanned!
Shocked to find I'm writing more towards a young-teenager audience rather than the adults I was planning for. This is definitely a book I would have wanted to read age 14+ Strange to see that happening, but I'm not going to fight it. My novel has life!
Anybody else noticed anything strange with their novel and how its turning out?

Re: NaNoWriMo
Yeah I have characters popping up in mine that I don't know about xD
The Thackery family... Daniel... quite a few people. I just write them then look back and think who the hell is he? Daniel expecially who appeared yesterday, who has a history with my MC. From what Id planned she hadn't had a proper 'lover/partner' since what happened in her teen years, but all of a sudden shes been with Daniel as well xD
I need to keep reading back over what I've written so I know who these people even are!

Re: NaNoWriMo
Aaaaww Sighlent! Sorry I didn't see this sooner.
YOU CAN DO IT! It's only 50k. Don't worry if it starts off crap. The novel will come to life and then you won't be able to stop it. It's just about out-put. Don't worry too much about punctuation, spelling, grammar (that will all be solved in December) Just keep writing.
You still have plenty of time to do it. This is only the end of the first week.
I have faith in you! I can chat about plot if you like (if we ever manage to get online at the same time!) or anything else you need help on If you need help
Have you seen the offer from Createspace.com? On the NaNo website? They will print you a proof-copy of your manuscript. It'll be your own book! A souvenir. An amazing souvenir! You will be able to hold your own book! That is amazing motivation for me
Don't let this piece of writing kick your butt - kick it back! Kick it til it surrenders and then cage it up with words on a blank page! YOU CAN DO IT!

Re: NaNoWriMo
I would like to thank Reffy for her amazing pep talk yesterday. Since then I wrote almost 2000 words. I know it's now much but it's a start! Also if you have yet to add me please do so, my username is Sighlent.
How many words should we be at by now anyway? I plan on trying to write all day to catch up but with the way it's going right now I doubt I'll have a problem. I don't know why but it's like...I have seen the light! Lol. That's so cheesy but I'm starting to feel things about my novel and well it's inspiring!
Thank you again Reffy!

And I would so love this! That way when I get it I could turn to my husband and say, "You know all of those nights I got up at like 3 in the morning to get on the computer? Well take this," And I would throw it at him.
Re: NaNoWriMo
By Nov 8 we need to be at 13,335 words I believe. I may be off by a day or so. And congrats on finally getting the inspiration you need to write! I know how hard that can be sometimes. And it comes and goes as the month goes on...
I do, however, love where my story is going. I can't wait to finish it and plug it all into a novel writing program I downloaded, yWriter5. I really want to purty it up fix it up to the standards I would expect from quality writing.
I also can't wait to have this story in book form, despite how crappy the writing is. It would be an awesome little achievement to be able to show around

Yeah I looked up that yWriter5 and it looks pretty decent. I may download it as well! And I agree with you on the achievement part. Lol. I would never stop bragging lol. But do you get it published only if you complete it or do you have to win something?
Re: NaNoWriMo
You do have to finish in order to have it made for you. Its the new incentive for completeing the word requirement. Before, when i used to do it, the only reward was good feelings.

Re: NaNoWriMo
Ugh, my brain is running out of ideas and beginning to get bored with the chit chattering I've got going on between characters. >_<
Re: NaNoWriMo
Kaez(AWR) gave me the best suggestion yesterday. I got in a plot-rut and he suggested blowing something up.
Not only did the idea of blowing something up exciting my brains but it gave me an entire chapter. It is going to be hilarious!
You should try considering blowing something up

If your characters truly start annoying you, make them suffer calamities. Anything from a stubbed toe, to heart attack.

Well, after flat-lining for three days, I'm finally back where I should be, at 21,838 words. I want to try and get to 25,000 words by the end of tonight, but that is a rather lofty goal.

Way to go, Silv!
Got a nasty headache today and stuck on a difficult chapter so didn't get as much writing as I wanted to done BUT I am well ahead of schedule at 34k so no worries.
Loved doing this and will do it again next year. There is even talk of doing an AWR version. 2 novels 1 year? Is it even possible? hehehe

Whew...25,452 as of today. I think my brins are leaking out my ears. Full time job, full time classes, RPs, house work....I dunno if I can keep this up. But I'm gonna try, damn it!

Re: NaNoWriMo
WOOHOO Digital_Muse! Congrats on the half-way mark.
I was like that at the mid-way point. Brainz were fizzling and feeling like they were dribbling out. Felt kinda good ... which was mildly odd.
It gets easier from here on out. I'm nearly at 35k and don't want to finish this book Don't want to stop!

Re: NaNoWriMo
I totally started this and was doing fairly well keeping up with the word count for the first 3 days *coughcough* but then I started a different story and wrote 6thousand and some odd words in two days... and then gave up. xD but I'm proud of myself I've never wrote 10k for anything (ok so I'm combining the two stories I wrote) and sure I didn't finish but I take my ego boosts where I can get them 8D.
Good luck to all those continuing!
