Don't forget, Silvone, we've got an IRC channel. I'm stealing Kaito's writing sprints, but I'm making them more easily accessible for those that don't have/are too lazy to get MSN.

Re: NaNoWriMo
I wish I could do this. I just know that even Silvone participating will take too much time out of our very busy schedule...there is no way we could both find time to do it. oh well...maybe next year.

Re: NaNoWriMo
If you really want to do it this year, Ryona, I will let you do it instead of me. In fact, I would encourage it, seeing as it would just be another excuse for me to ignore writing my own books. And then I could help you along throughout November and make sure you don't fall behind in your daily word counts!

I've joined up.
I'm sure I can do this and I wanna start now. D:
I'll just have to occupy myself with FoG's contest for now.

Re: NaNoWriMo
I got my FOG comp in early. Wanted it out of the way so I don't stress myself out. I have a tendency to over-work things and worry too much.
Currently occupying myself with a lot of reading. Trying to adsorb as much as possible. Terry Pratchett and Terry Brooks. Will probably attempt to write one more piece before November (Micro-Fiction - under 100 words)
Oh! I've also finally figured out a plot for my Novel. Going to spend the next few days hashing out the characters, disasters and main plot lines.

Re: NaNoWriMo
I, too, should make time to do that. Before November starts and I have-- get to start writing.

Re: NaNoWriMo
Alright. I guess I'm doing it then! I've got a story idea worked out, one that i wanted to do last year. If anyone cares to hear about it, I would love to explain it, but its really kind of simple and boring.

Re: NaNoWriMo
I have several book ideas the only thing is I am bad at starting them. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to get started?

Re: NaNoWriMo
Personally I like starting in the middle. If you have a good middle then you can work around the beginning and the end. If you have your characters established by writing a middle before a beginning then you know how to introduce them.
Anyway I had though that I might do this but right now I am way to busy. Still kinda on the fence because I have a story idea based off of the short story I wrote for the Halloween contest (a year ago actually) but I don't know how it would work in a novel setting so I may hold off.

Welcome aboard Sunwolf
Add me to writing buddies when you can. User name is "Reffent" (you'll be able to find all the other users from my buddy page) or tell me your name so I can add you
Also. I've never written a novel. Usually just short stories below 5k words ... so I'm going over-board on the planning. I'm using the Snowflake and Hero's Journey guides. They are proving really amazing (Thankies Stion!) Already got most of my story hashed out, but need to refine the plot, create the World, characters, races, magic, and rulez.

I never pay attention during class anyway, what the hell, I will think about it. Daily word limit is like 1800 or so to make 50 k in 28 days. What do you guys think about this?

Re: NaNoWriMo
I think that is awesome
It really only takes around an hour each day to write the 1,667 daily amount, and I will probably be doing extra on the weekends myself
Its possible when you don't think about the huge amount and just a daily target.

Re: NaNoWriMo
I wonder...are RPs in FOG going to suffer because of Nanowrimo?
Or, for those already with a handful of RPs to participate in, would they see no point in going in Nanowrimo this year?

Re: NaNoWriMo
I know a few writers who will be continuing with their RPs. I will still be in Seph(FOG) and Cartel(WoW) although they are both slow moves and of epic posting proportions.
Ultimately it is up to the writer, but it is possible to still continue both.

Re: NaNoWriMo
Personally, I only have one RP, so I'm not worried...it is also a bit slow moving. But if it were to slow down any more (or worse, have people drop out due to Nanowrimo,) I would be a sad little girl and abandon it.
Sheesh...oh well, it's only one month. Time better spent on Nano, anyhow.

Eeeeeeep! NaNo-mail!
OMG nervous! Sooooo nervous! Getting worried now ... 50K is a LOT. The suspense and challenge is killing me!
Think I'll feel much better about it when I can actually start writing.
Right now it feels like I'm just about to jump off a bridge with only a bunch of rubber-bands to stop me from splatting at the bottom

Re: NaNoWriMo
Right now, I am wondering how I am going to fit an hour of writing a day into my schedule. If I have to do a bunch of Organic Chemistry labs I will have absolutely no time for writing.

Re: NaNoWriMo
GOOD LUCK NaNo-ers!
Only a few hours to go for me until crazy writing month
Think I'm going to start in the morning with a huge bowl of honey-nut cheerios and maybe some left-over candy from Halloween Mini-tootsie pops are my muse right now
Don't think I can start tonight at 12, as much as I'd like too. Already tired from the day and the candy-giving
Re: NaNoWriMo
I wasn't planning on being one of those crazy people who started at midnight. But guess what? I was! lol
It was a saturday night, the folks were out, I had nothing to do... the clock hit 12 and I wrote for about an hour. Didn't get much, but it was a great start. Now its time to keep on writing keep on writing....
woo!

Re: NaNoWriMo
Hopefully I will find some time to start this today... Probably after work, hopefully before. I would hate to fall behind on the first day...
