You gotta love all those V's! xD Good sig. Except that the avatar looks like a screenshot instead of a graphic representation. However, it still matches quite well, in my opinion. It fits the dark theme of the forums, too, with the black hat and the dark background. In addition, the way the mask is dirty and banged up--plus the blushy bits--correlates with the blood splotches in the sig. Thumbsup.

I'll take off a point because it's not unique to you, though. It's Mr. V. ^_^

The meaning on avi/sig thread explains a lot. The words are written in the alien language, it's understandable you haven't learned to read it yet. And it really is all very similar, considering all images were from the same movie and edited using the same color palette. It's about as similar as it can get without being a duplicate of the same image!

The gold is just concrete with a gold tone...hehe

and Ragter get's a 10/10 because I can't post without rating, and I've only ever rated his images...

Kalon, my desire to be an upfront and honest person in spite of all personal preferences is telling me to be abrupt and to the point. Thus, please don't take anything I say insultingly!

Your signature and avatar seem to use original art, which definitely scores you some points. However, the arrangement of the signature could use some work. The main thing I don't understand is the black block surrounding the signature. If it's something that you're simply not sure how to get rid of, then I could easily trim it away for you, since I believe that would improve the look of the signature.

The image itself is rather grainy. I like the idea for having the lettering on fire, since it matches the character conjuring up a fireball, but the colors and the overall lack of clarity in the text makes it somewhat difficult to read, though I realize that your name is clearly displayed in your user info.

There also seems to be a lot of blank space beneath the name. There's what appears to be the end of a staff down there, but that itself seems pretty out of place. It's sort of just sticking up with no particular purpose or function. If it was something held by the character, it would make sense, but no one can tell that because of the amount of the character that's shown.

On the other hand, I do like that you used a foggy forest as the background. It matches very well with the board's theme, obviously, and paired with your original character, it's sort of like a, "This is Kalon in FoG!" kind of thing. By all accounts, your signature is very much what a signature should be -- something that is characteristic to yourself.

7/10 is what I'd give it cumulatively. It's unique, creative, well-matched to the forum theme, uses your own personal art and isn't overly cluttered by fancy effects and unnecessary colors and designs. As it's meant to be a signature, not a graphic masterpiece, those elements combined are much more important than how much I am or am not "wowed" by the image itself. With a few tweaks to adjust the graininess and cut away the extraneous black background, it could easily be bumped up to a 7.5 or 8.

Sorry, I'm sure such a serious critique isn't called for here, but I always feel bad giving a judgment without an explanation of why, regardless of whether it's a good or bad score.

You've pretty much nailed it all; that's exactly the purpose and intent of my sig. ^_^

Except for the "black box" and the "staff"
If you look closely (or not even that closely) the "staff" is actually the brooch he's wearing on his cloak. It's the Ordona crest I made.
The "black box" is meant to go with the dark section that surrounds our avatars and brief profiles. I thought it was a cool way to make everything match. ^_^

You're right about the graininess; it's just that every time I try to sharpen it it comes out wrong somehow.
I guess I could share the BMP with someone if they'd like to help.


As for Ryona, I forget what score I gave that before, so I'll just go with 8/10, since it looks cool, it matches, and there's a cool quote in it, but it's not about Ryona Noel.

Her avatar actually says Ryona Noel in the alien language, and she says that if she were a prawn, then that is what she would look like. And the signature reflects her opinion on the situation in the story, that coexistence is far more important than the petty squabbles that tore them apart. So it is as much about her as yours is about you. Speaking of you and yours....
