Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Haha, thank you. I don't know how I did it, but as I was making these sisters each one took a life of her own, with little conscious help from myself. As soon as I named Léohild, I knew she was going to have a temper and not get along with Aethylwyn. At first, I wasn't sure why, but when Éadmód, Léohild's husband, was created, I suddenly realized why they were having problems.
Same with Helmgar and Leohelm. As Blackrock and I were writing, we realized that there would be some stress between the two, especially on Leohelm's part. After all, one does not lose a leg and just go on without severe change in pace

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Hey, all. I'm so sorry for dropping off the face of the earth for a while. I've been knee-deep studying for mock oral exams and didn't even notice there was a reply in the OOC thread. And I stupidly thought I had another post before I was up next. I just found out today that I'm going on a little day trip with my committee member tomorrow to get some scuba gear for my thesis research, but I should be back by mid-afternoon and will start working on a post then. Trust me, I haven't lost interest in the role-play. I've just kind of had to put role-playing on the back burner for a while...

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Sorry for the double post, but I am finally making some progress on my post again. After I passed oral exams on Friday, I came down with strep throat out of the blue and haven't had any mental or physical energy to do much of anything requiring a lot of cognitive thought until yesterday. I'll get it up as soon as possible, assuming my writer's block doesn't rear its ugly head again.
EDIT: Ugh! FINALLY it's done! I don't know why I had such a hard time getting it started, but it flowed pretty easily (I hope) once I got going. It's late and I probably didn't proofread it as well as I should have, so please feel free to call me out on anything that looks weird. Good night, and sorry again for taking so freaking long!

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I apologize, but my post likely will not be up any time soon. I really do have a bit too much on my plate at the moment. However, never fear, for I shall work on this whenever I have time and proper motivation! Perhaps once I finish watching the second half of The Return of The king...

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Double posting isn't a problem, Silvan. Even if it's only been several hours, it's totally acceptable as long as it's a legitimate stand-alone post. If it's only a few minutes or hours later, though, editing the post is easiest.
Edit:

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I have most other writing projects out of the way, so the next on my list is Celebrant. I can't make any promises, but this will be the focus of my attention. I have to reread the posts relevant to my character, and then relearn all of the stuff I forgot that I had been researching. Hopefully it won't take longer than two weeks.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I am working on this post now. With luck, it will be up by the end of the night. Don't cross your fingers though.
Edit: I have posted. It was one of those posts that came out in a rush, so feel free to offer criticism and point out errors.
@ Kalon: I kind of figured that this practice would become a sort of game for them along the march, to keep the morale up I guess. Something to add to the long march ahead of them.
As for the next days training, that is entirely up to you. Or you can do something different if you wish.

Thanks! I am glad you liked it. I wasn't sure about it once I finished writing it, but I wasn't about to just delete it.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
It really was very well written.
I was thinking, I know Kalon is next, but perhaps Blackrock should start working on his too, and then we can get two posts up in the amount of time for one!

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I'm not sure what I should write about. I could easily just make up stuff, but I forget the timetable. How long until we move out? Was it ever said? All I remember was "soon." Might you have any suggestions or brainstorms for me, to get me started?
Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
It was a week before you moved out. Definitely stick with the training, and the charcter's thoughts on battle. As for what types of training, I am of absolutely no service

I just caught up in Emoria a couple minutes ago, so Celebrant is next on my list after Sephiris.

The title is now a link to the IC, since I belatedly realized there wasn't one. Also, consider this an official poke.

Posting!
Silvone, I was going to PM you the post first, but it got huge, and I didn't change anything other than we talked about anyway.
So yay! Blackrock is free!

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
And posted. Wow, two posts in less than a week. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH US!!!
But yeah, there's not much going on in my post; didn't really have much to go on, so I decided to go for some good ol' sibling relationship exploring.
Hope I didn't leave Ryona hanging by not bringing the two characters back!

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Great post, Blackrock! Looks like I'm up next, eh? I have research colloquium this weekend, so I probably won't get to it until next week.
Just to poll everyone, would this be a good opportunity to introduce Elendyne to some of the other characters? My last post ended with the elf trio overlooking Greybarrow. I'm thinking that since Helmgar is camping so conveniently in a forest (and elves like forests!), that they could kind of bump into each other and go from there?

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Silvan, I actually need to post before you. Since my character is guarding the road, I thought at the end of the post she could see your character riding up. Perhaps something would still be chasing them?

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
That works fine for me, Ryona. Hahahaha...I kinda feel bad that the elf trio keeps getting attacked at every turn. Surely the other characters want a piece of the action too! But yeah, just assume that Elendyne, Huor, and Finrod got attacked by another band of wild men who wanted revenge for the band they killed in the last post. Maybe you could show the tail end of the battle from Aethylwyn's perspective? For instance, she could see them riding over the hill being chased by the last couple of wild men and see some cloaked figures on horses take them out with sword/bow. Or you can write it however you want. I'm sure it will be great regardless

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
We could even say that you guys were riding hard from the battle described in your last attack, with a few stragglers who decided to try and chase you down.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
That could work. I wrote that they killed all the bandits that attacked them, but there could have been additional members of that group who did not participate in that attack.
Since the elves are currently positioned overlooking Greybarrow, I think it would make more sense for them to go ahead and kill the bandits rather than flee from the them and risk leading them to the townsfolk.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
We should remember to keep track of where we all are on the map, like draw some simple files with red lines indicating our route, and stuff. Or something. I dunno if anyone besides me keeps feeling foggy about it and having to look at maps all the time to remember...
Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I know exactly how you feel, Kalon. Since we're going at a slower pace (which is totally fine, by the way), I keep losing track of where people are on the map, including my own characters. I have a map of Middle Earth hanging on my wall from the movies, which is handy as a quick reference, but it probably doesn't have everything labeled from this particular time period.
Also, maybe we could compile a master list of all our characters and side characters to add to the first post of this OOC? I know I'm always having trouble keeping straight all the men in the tulkarim, and sometimes I forget which ones are yours and Silvone's main characters and which are the side ones.
For instance:
SilvanArrow
Elendyne (main): Elf maiden and Healer of Mirkwood. She travels with two companions to offer her aid on King Thranduil's behalf to Men during these troubled times.
Huor (NPC): Elf warrior of Mirkwood and companion to Elendyne. Beneath his stoic demeanor, this dark-haired elf lives by a fierce code of honor and is particularly protective of Elendyne.
Finrod (NPC): Elf warrior of Mirkwood and companion to Elendyne. This blonde-haired elf is relatively young and often given to jokes, but he is gifted with the bow and no less fierce in battle.
