No worries. I was away from my computer for most of the weekend anyway entertaining a friend from out of town and am just getting back into the swing of things here at grad school. By all means, take your time

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Alright, I have posted. Kalon, I figured you could just add some dialogue, explain the reactions of a few of the other soldiers. Maybe describe the setting a little bit. If you want, you can get into the arrival of Hammar and his instructions, and the training. Whatever you want really. Sorry my posts are so long, but I hate not really introducing the members of the squad.

Nice post, Silvone - love it! : ) Especially liked how you described each and every character, giving us the sense that it's not just the two main characters, but a whole lot of other, living, breathing people along.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I figured it would be necessary since I'll be dragging them along. And it will just add to the story when I have to kill some of them off. They will actually add to the story with their death, rather than just being another dead person...

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Wait...we can drag NPC characters along as well? Hmmm...I may need to bring Huor and Finrod back for a cameo later if that's the case...
And I really loved your post! Like Blackrock said, you did a great job of describing all the characters and giving them unique personalities.

Of course! I think it would be great to keep them along. Of course, being elves you wouldn't want an entire army of them waltzing about, but I think three elves riding with the eotheod is completely fine and adds a lot to the story. Especially with the vague notion that Galadriel helped them get to Gondor, even though Eorl didn't believe it.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Huh, that actually changes things quite a lot. I didn't know we could have extra characters tagging along, so that's why I had Huor and Finrod leave. It would probably make more sense in terms of the elven culture for them to come along, like bodyguards. I was struggling with the idea that elven warriors would be willing to just abandon one of their healers, particularly a woman, at the edge of Mirkwood to make that long of a journey by herself. Not to say that elves consider females the "weaker" sex, but I feel like anyone, even a warrior, making a long journey alone is probably more risk than they would want to take.
Do you think I should go back and edit my first post to have them continue with journey with Elendyne? Or should I find some way to reintroduce them later? I'm fine with doing either, but I'd just like to get other peoples' opinions first.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Well, its up to you. You could edit it, but if you didn't want to edit you could find that they (or just one of them) couldn't bear to part with her, and followed her without her knowing. She doesn't have to be in the dark for long, just long enough for your previous post to make sense.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Oooh...I like the idea of them following without her knowing. Maybe some rogue wild men will try to ambush her and ta-dah! Cue the two warriors coming to her rescue. I could have some fun with the character interaction trying to explain why they broke orders to come after her

Sounds like a plan I wish I had any idea what I am going to write. I'm hoping to be inspired by Blackrock

That was fun to write. I hope you all enjoy it. ^_^
Let me know if I made any errors.
I'm not sure how many days you were thinking the drills and training would last. I tried to set it up so that it'll work however you like.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Finally read your post Kalon. Very good! Silvone does have short descriptions (by that, I mean a couple of keywords to give them at least a pinch of depth) but I don't have it with me. Still, your descriptions are probably very much like what he wrote down.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Better than what I wrote down, actually. Thanks for taking the time to do that, Kalon! I had wanted to get that up myself, but I'm glad I waited for you to do it instead
And great post, by the way. Not sure about errors, but I can read it again if you'd like.

Ehh, no need to take the time going over it with a fine-tooth comb. Just if any stood out to you, you know to let me know. ^_^
Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Just letting you know that Blackrock and I have been working on his post bit by bit, and it will likely be finished this week. Then we'll have to work on mine, haha. I do wish we weren't in opposite time zones, it makes conversation a bit of a hassle.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
No worries, I figured this role-play would probably move at a more relaxed pace. I'm pretty much in mental lock-down mode for the rest of the month until exams are over anyway, so take as much time as you all need.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Relaxed pace is nice, but then there's getting back into your thought pattern after long spaces away. What I did last time, since it had been a while between posts, was listen to the whole Gondor Theme a couple times. Got me all ready and re-aligned with Gondor-ness. xD
Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
And FINALLY, I have posted. Sorry the damned thing took so long, it's not as lengthy as I imagined it to be but hopefully it's enough for now. I'd blame the delay on my busy schedule and technical difficulties (me and Ryona shooting character-lines back and forth took some time), but I also have to admit that for some reason my creative juices weren't flowing properly. So instead of dragging this on, I decided to go for something a bit shorter, but which would give me plenty of opportunities to continue in whatever direction I deem fit. Luckily, I already have a plan forming in my head, which will tie in nicely with the point I left it at.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Wonderful! I'd read most of it already, of course, but I love what you've done with Leohelm. It was exactly the conversation I imagined them having. The difficult dynamic between two brothers who, circumstances what they are, are learning their place in life. I suppose its my turn now, give me a few days but I think I should have one up before the week is out.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Silvan, I was thinking about having Aethylwyn posted as a graveyard sentry on the bridge of the Western Greylin river. I'm not sure what your plans are, but I was thinking it would be neat to have your three characters riding up in the middle of the night, something nasty and monstrous on their tail. My post would end with seeing them coming, and then your post could be filler between your character parting ways with her two fellow riders, up to them being attacked and riding up to the bridge for safety. Then we could do a quick collab of your characters and mine together either killing or scaring off whatever it is chasing you.
What do you think?

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I'll just point out that you should probably take time into consideration as well. A big part of Tolkien's world is about the journey, I should say and covering great distances. If that's the case than Silvan's post may have to stretch over a few weeks/days depending on the pace of travel.
Small touch, but I think it would add to the overall feel.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Well, I'm not really sure where to end it now. I guess I can go through the night to the next day. It will be a lot of filler stuff, but I didn't get a response from Silvan so...yea. Sorry it's taking longer than I thought.

No worries. This is a no-rush RP, and anyway we have the fogathon going on. ^_^
Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
It's shorter, but packed with a lot, so please ask if there are any questions. I didn't really want to end where I did, but after I wrote that last line, I felt that I could not continue with the post.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Very nice. I love all the little tensions in the family that you know are smoothed over but still felt and still affect things. They all care about each other, but everybody knows it's the people you love the most who can be the most upsetting. ^^
