Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Loved your post Silvan. Now I can't wait to post. I watched ROTK today and I'm pumped for Celebrant. Hopefully Silvone will get something up soon.
Hopefully you all noticed my new av/sig set It was the closest image I could find that reminded me of Aethylwyn. The lyrics are a song that Liv Tyler and Howard Shore made for a song about Arwen and Aragorn and their son...but was used during Eoywn's healing.
Curious...if by some miracle we finished celebrant and wanted to move on to another story (or move further with this one), would you want to create a second thread or continue this thread?

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I'm glad you liked my post, Ryona! I had just written another fight scene for Viemera, so I was already in the mindset to write another one. Can't wait to read more posts!
I would be fine with either option in terms of continuing this RP or creating a new one. I like exploring the timelines and events before the trilogy, so we could do another RP along those lines. Or if we get really attached to this cast of characters, I would also love to continue with a sequel. Right now we're starting to approach the end of the Viemera RP, and I must admit it is bittersweet because we've been working on it for well over a year. I've gotten really attached to the characters and hope we end up doing a sequel to it or something.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I'd thought that was what we had already decided on, but I guess there is no point in setting anything in stone until we've completed this one. We don't really know how it will end for our characters yet.

Haha, I didn't forget, but I remember a private conversation between myself and Silvone where we spoke of using Corsairs, and I couldn't remember if that was an ancestor idea or a continuation of our characters idea, but I REALLY want Corsairs in the next segment. LOL.

Hahahaha...pirates meet Lord of the Rings! I would love to explore corsairs more in the next segment as well. Just as long as I can at least feature Elendyne's son/daughter/grandchild...
...oops, did I say that out loud?
Hmmm...I wonder who the lucky elf dude is gonna be! Teeheehee...

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Hahahahaha...glad you think so, Ryona! Hmm...I feel like half-elves are relatively uncommon in the Tolkien universe, and the noteworthy ones are folks like Lord Elrond. I think it would be more canon to have Elendyne marry another elf.
Besides, she kind of already has a secret admirer...if you read between the lines enough...
But of course I'm always open to ideas from you folks! You all tend to come up with pretty awesome ideas, I must say!

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I only mention humans because the rest of our cast are humans Also, while half elves are uncommon, they aren't unheard of, and as these are the unfinished tales, I feel we should be able to finish them with whatever splendor we can imagine But I think her hooking up with...ack, I can't remember his name! Anyway, it would be awesome

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
If Elendyne did marry a human from our cast, we might have to make a separate story just for them, because just the joint experience of the Battle of Celebrant alone wouldn't be enough for a human/elf romance, I'd imagine.
Although all Beren needed was seeing her dance in the woods. <.<
So, I dunno.
Arwen and Aragorn grew up together, though.
If I were an elf girl, I'm not sure I'd make the choice of Luthien. That's a lot of centuries to give up. xD Aragorn and Beren only got elves because they were Protagonists, and everyone KNOWS that ALL girls want to fall in love with protagonists. And since there are girl elves, they have to fall in love with the protagonist, elf or not. Hence, Luthien and Arwen.
oh WAIT!!
I know why!
It's because of Melian!
Luthien only did it because her MOM did it!
Melian the Maia got pulled into a relationship with Thingol after losing a century-long staring contest, Luthien got into it with Beren because he saw how pretty she was, and Arwen got with Aragorn from childhood.
Melian was the mom of Luthien who was Arwen's great-great-gramma! They're all related!
So if we look at it like that, only Arwen's son could pick an elf, who would then go on to produce some other elf girl to choose a human somewhere down the line. xD
Except the elves are leaving, so... *shrug*
It's entirely possible that no other half-elf exists besides Luthien and Beren's son, and then Elrond and Elros.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
It is possible, but I don't agree that it is likely.
I will be working on my post now. I finished up a segment of Sephiris, so I will be taking a break until I catch up with my other stuff. Hopefully this won't take me more than 2-3 weeks.

I'll try to finish a Sephiris post before you get a Celebrant up, so I don't leave anybody waiting.
Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I just finished catching up on my reading for Celebrant. My post will be incoming. I need to first make a character tree for all of the soldiers in the Tulkarim. You seem to have a good understanding of them, Kalon, but I don't. I will need to get that all organized and such before I start.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I posted the list I have of them, yes?
Oh man, what'll happen if (when?) they all die off, one by one?

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
You posted a list but you said you had a better one, and I never got the better one.
It's going to be quite a story when that happens.

Not better, just updated.
Here it is. ^_^
We don't need character sheets for them; this'll just help us keep track of their development as we learn more through the story, if we want to use this.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I have family over at the moment. Then I will be going to my grandmothers over the weekend. I still can't promise anything, but I will try and get this post done after that. My hours at work are decreasing because the holidays are over, so I should have WAY more time to write. I'm sorry that I have been taking so long on this. I know it is disappointing for all of you.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Oh no, don't worry about it. Real life always comes first. I just wanted to make sure everyone was still on board with this RP and hadn't decided to let it die or something.

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Not at all; just the holidays. Everyone's busy.
But they're over now. xD
So we get holiday cheer, and then we get non-holiday cheer.
How awesome is that?? xD

I had a witty response, but I forgot it.
So I'll go with my initial reaction: Yay!

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
My post is up, Kalon. Feel free to do whatever you want next. Their march will be five days long; they should arrive at the river on their fifth day. I was planning on them having a skirmish with a small advance force of Balcoth that had already crossed just before they reach it, but thats up to you if you go that far. Sorry not much happened in my post... I was really short on inspiration. And I didn't want to hog up all the time incase you had any great ideas

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Hm, I think Duinhir is right that they wouldn't cross the river yet. Maybe there'd be a scout, but I doubt our tulkarim would be involved. I could have news of it travel the camp, though.
I think I'll skip to our arrival at the river.
I'll also add Hirbarad's dark curly hair to the list. ^^
Do we meet the other forces, though?
What will be the situation when we arrive and cross?
I can probably cover the crossing as well, depending on how much or how little the other bits carry me.
Also I had another question. Which way does the sun go across the sky?
If I remember correctly, doesn't it go from West to East, not East to West like on Earth?
Because it's actually Ëarendil sailing on the ship in the sky with the thing?

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
Just a quick heads up from me guys, my finals start next week on the 23rd and will carry on until sometime to mid-February, so I won't be able to get any posts up (should my turn come that soon ). Looking forward to seeing any new material though!

Re: The Battle of Celebrant OOC
I wish I knew the answer to the sun movement question, but alas I do not.
Just to throw out an idea... I don't know if we intended on keeping the exact same posting order for the entire RP, but if we wanted to make some progress, I know my character is still just waiting for Ryona's to respond after the bandit ambush. If Blackrock is still knee-deep in finals by the time Kalon posts, Ryona and I could potentially carry on the Aethylwyn/Elendyne exchange and then Blackrock could catch up.
Just a thought! I wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes if someone else has some good plot ideas. Right now my schedule is pretty open for writing posts, so I was just trying to think of ways to keep the momentum going.
