Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Celebrating three things:
1) Two of my BEST FRIENDS got engaged. ^_^
2) Drank a shit ton last night and didn't embarrass myself/do anything stupid. (For once. lol)
3) The hangover was gone 20 minutes after I woke up thanks to Pokemon. (Yeah, I'm the only guy I know that wakes up with a splitting headache and the first thought is "... Dude, I should do another Nuzlocke Challenge...")

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
That is awesome, Dreamless Days! Congrats to your friends!! LOL and yay about the drunken and post-drunkenness.
I guess this is kind of worth celebrating, only because I have only had one interview so far for a job I didn't get. I have an interview Wednesday for a part-time position at Disc Replay. It kind of sucks, because it's retail and I'd have to work weekends, so I would see Axiom even less... Buuut, job. Yay!?

Working retail is pretty boss. Congrats on getting the interview, and I'll cross my fingers for you Fate! ^_^

Well congrats on the interview. I don't know though if I want to wish you luck in getting the job. Seeing as you sort of don't want it for obvious reasons.
But I will wish you luck, because everyone needs a job. So Good Luck Fate!

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Thanks, Dreamless Days and Marcus. :]
The lady called me back (because she forgot to ask for my references), and she told me that I was one of the top candidates for the job. I'm REALLY on the fence about it though, since I'd only be working 20 hours a week while making minimum wage, plus working weekends. If I'm moving to Iowa next month, I'd have to drive across the bridge every day I work, and gas alone for that would get pretty expensive, so I'm just wondering if it's even worth it. Will I be making enough money to pay for gas and to live off of? Probably not.
I am pretty sure I'm just going to tell them thank you for the time, but I decided it wasn't for me if they offer me the job. If they don't offer me the job though, I'll probably be equally mad lol, since it's stupid that I can't even get a retail job with my degree. So, it's a lose-lose no matter what they tell me haha.
Oh, but this is the celebration thread. So...
Sexypants! (That's what Axiom says to me lol.)

Sept 19, 2011 - Negotiations Update 11:35AM
We are pleased to announce that that we have reached a settlement that protects your healthcare. Vote details to follow.
It seems that, for now at least, Silvone will not be going on strike.
I've been pouring all my luck into us not going on strike. Now I need to go pass out (BRAM Joke).

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
So I have a lot to celebrate today. My niece Torunn Marie Rose was born, weighing 8 lbs 8 ounces, and 20 inches long. Most important is she is healthy. I am excited because in about 2 hours I will get to meet her, as the hospital she is at has visiting hours starting at 3. I can not wait.

Congratulations uncle Marcus! xD
As for me, I just found out when I'll be returning to the States! I can't say when exactly (secret hush-hush stuff, you know how it goes), but I'm just glad to be finally getting out of this sand box for a while.

Yes, that is wonderful news, Ghost! My uncle had several deployments while I was in high school, and it was always such a relief to have him come home and be safe for a few months before going back out there. I hope and pray you will stay safe until you are state-side again.
Also, I celebrate that my morning coffee is just plain tasty. I finally got some good creamer, and I got lucky and nailed the balance between coffee and creamer so that it's just so...freaking...tasty. Oh yeah, bring on the studying today! I'm ready!

Lots of celebratory news in here!!!
Marcus, Torunn is the same exact size Theoden was when he was born! A nice big healthy girl!
Congrats GW! It always feels better to have a date to look forward to, even if you can't share it.
Silvan, I'm enjoying a nice cup of tea right along with your tasty coffee

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Yay! I just got a job!!
I am an executive assistant and receptionist for United Insurance and Investments. It's full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00. I start with a 90 day probationary period, and after that, I start to build up vacation days and sick days (something I've never had at any job before, which will be super nice), and I also will get to discuss a raise after the probationary period. It's my first and closest thing to a real job, so I'm really excited!
I had my interview for this job yesterday, and the owner (the man you see speaking in the video on their webpage if you watch it) was interviewing quite a lot of people for the position, so I had a lot of competition. I was just myself and somehow ended up being very calm and confident in my interview. He liked me enough to invite me back for a second interview this morning, where I got to briefly speak to the women that work there so they can get to know me a little. The boss was having the office ladies speak to all the potential candidates he was inviting back for a second interview so that they could help him decide, since they're the ones that get to work with the receptionist most. I thought that was a smart idea. I made some chit-chat with them and was more outgoing than I even realized I could be lol.
Apparently they really liked me, because when Tom (the boss) called me a little less than an hour ago, he told me that after our talk, they all told him that they liked me and that he should hire me. I was pleasantly surprised, since it was getting pretty late in the day, and I knew I was supposed to hear if I got the job today, so I was getting nervous and feeling like maybe I wasn't being seriously considered.
I'm excited to have a job again, especially one that's full time and with no nights or weekends. (I've been working retail for too long as it is.) I'll be handling the front desk and phone, dealing with customers, using the computer software and internet for tasks, and getting quotes for people.

So, the other day... my dinosaur of a phone that I've had for almost seven years went extinct... sort of... I sort of... er... washed it with my pants...
Anyway, I figured it was about time to get a new phone since I killed the old one, so now I have a dealer line through my work. I paid a little bit of money for a phone ((way less than the phone normally sells for)) that I get to keep, and I only have to pay about $30 a month for the plan.
I am now the owner of a lovely Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch. It's so awesome! How did I ever live without a smartphone? ^o_o^
I can now text and talk to my heart's content without worrying that I won't have enough minutes left if there's an emergency. ^^_^^

Hahaha careful, Kathryn, those smartphones will become addictive. I never thought I would rely so much on being able to check email on my iPhone, and with all the free apps available, I always have something to do to kill a little time

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
hahahah I know! I was playing with it alllllll day yesterday. It was hilarious because Jonathan came upstairs to go to bed, and I was sitting on the floor by the outlet where my phone was recharging ((the battery life kind of sucks)), and he's like, "Oh... Oh no! Oh no! It's starting!" XD

That is AWESOME, Kathryn! Congrats on the new smartphone. lol Yeah, it's amazing all the nifty things smartphones can do. It's super nice that you only have to pay around $30/month for it as well! Axiom pays around $80/month for his. I'm not sure how much mine is, since my parents have been paying for it, but that's going to stop soon, so I'm really worried about that. You are definitely lucky that you don't have to pay that much a month and that the cost of the phone was less through your work.
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Yes. I agree completely. The best part is that I get 3000 anytime minutes and unlimited texting and data with this plan. I'm more accustomed to texting than talking anyway because of how my Tracfone worked, but I also have minor hearing problems so I prefer texting, so it'll work out for me.

Aw, I hope Theoden had a great birthday!!
I just wanted to celebrate finishing chapter 2 this morning of my alien-related story I'm currently working on. (I actually have a prologue as well, so it's almost like having written 3 chapters now.) I'm really excited, since this is probably the first story I've been working on (out of many) that I'm really feelin' it with.
