Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Thanks, Revan! I'm excited to have a car of my own. I mean, I'll be spending quite some time paying off the loan my love is giving me for it, but he said it doesn't have to be paid all speedily and such, so I'll be able to take my time with that.
I'm just nervous about the costs of owning a car, but since it's a beater, it shouldn't be too bad, right? =3

Depends if it is a reliable beater or not. However, even a reliable car has it's loan payment (unless you are lucky enough to pay it in full), insurance costs, scheduled maitenence, and of course gas!

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Well, the loan is from my love, so at least I don't have interest!
Yes. I know about those. I have to pay to get it fixed, paid to get the title in my name, pay to get it registered/have it pass safety and emissions, pay for insurance, and pay for gas. So yes, I'll be putting quite a bit of money into this car, but it gets between 23 and 25 miles to the gallon, so at least that won't be too bad.

I am applying for a somewhat management position at my job that will at least guarantee me 40 hours a week (may come with a small raise...).
Also, I will be getting a 20 cent raise in 62 hours! That will put me at $9.50/hour. I feel slightly less like a slave.

I just pulled off a pretty big dinner: pasta primavera, chili dogs, and a batch of cookies all at the same time! I think I might just know my way around my kitchen!

With that, and putting off my student loan payments, Gadreille and I can finally start saving money, as well as paying our own mortgage. It was indeed a very happy moment!

Axiom and I just got a new sectional couch this past Friday. I was so excited for it! All we've had for years is a tiny and very uncomfortable Ikea couch. We also picked up a TV stand from American as well. Those, along with our recent purchase of a 50 inch flat screen TV definitely make our living room feel more like a true adult space rather than a college dorm.
Here are some pictures:
Me on the couch!
Axiom watching HGTV (love that channel)
Also, in celebration of 5 years together now, Axiom and I drove for about 2 hours to the sushi restaurant in a suburb of Chicago that I used to work at to eat dinner last night. It was so wonderful seeing my old coworkers and boss again, not to mention the food was fantastic!!! It's awfully blurry, but here's a picture of me with two of my favorite past coworkers there.
Then to end our night last night, we went out to a favorite sports bar with some friends after we drove another 2 hours back home lol. It was a good time.

Fayt, that's awesome! It looks like you had a lot of fun, and that couch is awesome. Your apartment looks really, really nice. My house doesn't even look that good.
Ysopet, you never know! You could end up passing all four of us in post count. I know I've reigned as top poster for like... ever... but I'm less active than I used to be, sooooo yeah... ^^_^^
Okay, so, I've been on a diet lately of about 1660 calories of mostly healthy food (I can't resist a couple of unhealthy items now and again. Where's the fun in life if I can't splurge on occassion? As long as I utilize the ideas of portion control and moderation, what's the harm?). I don't count the calories exactly as they are, but I more or less give an accurate estimate of what I've eaten. I also do my regularly scheduled, thirty-two minute walk to the trax station, and lately, I've been walking a little faster for a better workout.
Anyway, I started on March 19th at 144 pounds. The next day, I weighed 142.8 pounds (I think it's attributed to the difference in the time of day I weighed myself. The first weigh-in was at night while the second was in the morning). On March 24th, I weighed 142.0 pounds, and today, I weighed myself again and I weigh 140.2 pounds.
I need to not weigh myself so frequently, but I thought a week had passed since the last weigh-in since the app I used wanted me to weigh-in two days ago.
My goal is to get to 138 pounds, and hopefully, that will be attainable with how well I've been doing in the first week since I started.

Did you ever make your goal, Kathryn?
I made some awesome corn bread tonight for dinner! I don't even like corn bread, and it was good The rest of dinner sucked though...

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Nope. I still have two pounds to go, but I've pretty much weighed 140 lbs consistently since my teen years, so it's not too bad if I don't make 138 by April 24th.
I'm glad that you were able to enjoy a food you normally dislike, but I'm sorry the rest of your dinner was unappetizing.
I'm going to be going to an eye appointment in a couple of hours.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I thought the meal was pretty good
Oh, you are so lucky! I'm going to get my eyes checked on the 25th of this month, and I can't wait! It's been three years since I had a new pair of glasses, and even longer since I have had contacts. Hopefully I can afford to get both...
I celebrate today. I got a new swimsuit (my old one broke ), I'm going out to dinner with my husband, and its raining outside (I love storms...). Also, someone wants me to take pictures of their granddaughter, and they are willing to pay me, which is pretty awesome! It's just one of those feel good days.

After a fairly terrible week and a half, I've finally got some good news: I was finally called about a job and I have an interview monday! Hopefully I'll get the job and things will settle down more and maybe, just maybe I'll be able to get my damn OOC up.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Awesome news from me, too:
I'VE GOT MY TABLET !!!
I actually got it a couple weeks ago. I wanted to wait until I had Results before breaking the news. xD
Rather than make a whole separate thread in the art section, I figured I'd just share my first real tablet artwork of awesomeness here in this Celebration.

That is pretty awesome, Kalon!
I had a great day in the snow, yesterday. My son had a blast, and it was his first encounter with the snow. I'll admit, I was worried. But he loved it, and he even took the sled down a hill (a short one) all by himself!
I paved a couple of hills myself, going face first on my stomach, and I nearly tore my leg off in the process. It was worth it though. Especially when my board snagged a branch and I went flying off

Yeah, in the mountains around us. It was raining here for most of the week. Spring showers mean spring snows higher up, I guess
