Smart and Final. I found out that Albertsons was going to be laying off workers, so I started looking elsewhere. I took a resume into Smart and Final and they hired me on the spot. It was pretty nice

That's really smart, and you're finally done with Albertsons! ^o_~^
I hope you'll enjoy your new job more than the last one.

Looks like your decision was Smart and Final.
I'm most pleased for you, buddy! Must have been rough, with a layoff imminent.
Huzzah for more secure futures!

I'd like to celebrate finally being finished with school! And with all A's on my final exams. One more year of high school left.
And it sounds silly, but I'm also celebrating my sister's graduation from middle school. It was a very emotional ceremony and she won quite a few awards for academics which we didn't know she'd be getting. I was so proud of her. Two great highlights of my day.

That's awesome when you can watch the younger generation totally blow you away
And congrats on your own A's!

Last night I shot down four wasp nests with a nerf gun It was epic! It was also a bit frightening, because I had no idea how agressive the wasps were going to be. Luckily, they stayed in the area of the nest, even after I had shot them down.

Last weekend I celebrated the marriage between two very good friends of mine. I was the maid of honor, and spent the last few months helping the bride organize this wedding. It was a gorgeous wedding, the ceremony, decor, bridal party....all absolutely awesome.
My only complaint was the make up artist, who spent forty minutes on two of the bridesmaids and five minutes on the other two, because she mismanaged her time. I look very underdone in the professional photographs. But it was my friend's big day, not mine, so it's not that important.
The highlight of the evening was watching my son be, literally, the first person on the dance floor. So many adults were happy to dance with him, expressing to me how absolutely awesome he was. I just did my best to keep up with him (which I didn't, I am not at all a dancer) and thank everyone for the compliments

Yesterday I celebrated my son Theoden's fourth birthday
We had a Flash/justice league party at a kids center called The Wild. I took all the daycare kids and we partied hard for four hours before going back to the daycare and crashing til the end of the day.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
You guys look so happy! And the room looked very cute, was it a family home?
I didn't understand the picture of the cat and the dog by the bookstand, what was it meant to represent? My first thought was that it was for your babies you left at home. And was that picture of a book actually...a cake? It looks sort of like it might be...if so, that's AMAZING!
Where did you two meet, if you don't mind my asking? Sorry, I just get all crazy when someone mentions a wedding.

The wedding took place in M4's Aunt's home. It had the most beautiful view and she had such fun decorating everything for us. The cat and the dog of out cake topper are characters from the Dresden Files series of books. They are Mister (the cat) and Mouse (the dog), who are Harry Dresden's pets. We adore the book series and thought it was a perfect pair for the topper.

Ysopet has to work New years eve...but...
When he gets home, it will be the beginning of our very first weekend off together in over seven months.
Some people want vacations. I feel blessed to just have this upcoming two days.

I celebrate life finally settling down a little. I've traveled to two conferences in the past two weeks to present some of my thesis research, and now that's finally out of the way. Which means...you'll see a lot more of Silvan Arrow around more! Plus...my boyfriend is coming to visit tomorrow, so I'm super excited for that!
Now to just catch up on my RP posts...

For the first time ever, I was finally able to complete my FAFSA because I qualify as in Independent, and I didn't have to rely on anyone other than myself to get everything done.
I may qualify for some grants, and I'm super scared because it's been almost five years since I was last in any kind of school setting, but I'm also super excited.

That's wonderful, Kathryn! If you stay in-state for your schooling, which I'm assuming you will, I think you'll find that you can find a lot of grants, merit scholarships, and low-interest loans that can help you pay for school. Plus in-state tuition is a fraction of the cost. My boyfriend came out of college debt-free because he stayed in-state.
Okay, celebration time! I'm thisclose to finishing a complete first draft of my thesis, after which I will focus solely on edits and readying my thesis defense presentation. I'm so excited that things are finally moving forward! And I'm thrilled to report that my boyfriend FINALLY has a job interview for a park ranger position after months of searching. This park would be pretty much his dream job, so we've got all our fingers and toes crossed and have lots of people sending prayers and well-wishes. He's also going to try and come visit after his interview (March 28), so I'm stoked about actually seeing him again

Yes, I am staying in-state, and since I've lived here for more than six months, I qualify as a resident which is nice.
That's awesome about your thesis, Silvan! I know you've been working really hard on it for a long time now!
That's really great that your boyfriend has an interview for a job he'll love and that there's the added bonus of your seeing each other after said interview. ^^_^^
