Re: The Celebration Thread :D
That's great to hear, Silvan! I have to start getting on that, myself, and I know that the hardest part's going to be finding a committee of people to help me out. Best of luck! =D
I celebrate getting an internship!!!! I'm going to be a television production intern for the summer. =) Still working on where I'm going to live for the summer but I'm super excited. They don't normally take interns without meeting them face to face, but apparently I impressed them enough for them to give me a chance!

W00t!!! I finally came up with a background I like.... I know that's kind of strange to say without context, but I was having some trouble with a drawing... lately I feel like I've made so much progress but none so it's nice to finally feel progress completely.
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Congrats, Skitzo! I know how nice it is to finally make good progress on a project.

Congrats, Lara! Good grades are always something to celebrate!
I would also like to celebrate straight A's for my first year of grad school. Also, we've got a big swing dance event this weekend with lots of awesome dances, including afternoon dances at the beach. I'm super excited!

Thanks! Congrats to you too, Silvan!
Hope the swing thing is fun. =D I'm jealous.
I also celebrate finally completing another roleplaying post here. It's been entirely too long...

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Would have posted this yesterday morning, but I'm just now getting access to a computer.
Yesterday morning, around 7 or so, I puked my ever-living guts out over a span of concrete no shorter than 100 feet!
Gross right? Totally worth it though:
My unit did a physical fitness test yesterday morning, and the event I've always lacked on was the 2 mile run. Yesterday wasn't very different, but I gave it all I had and showed my NCO's and my 1SG that I've got spirit if nothing else. About 100 meters from the finish line, I was basically dead on my feet trying to make the time limit. Halfway there, I felt the gurgley grossness making its way up, and the last 100 feet I just leaned to my right and puked while still running, which was apparently hilarious yet awesome to the graders and observers.
So yeah, I'm sore as heck today, but giving it 100% effort was totally worth it.

Wow, that is totally amazing and epic despite its hilarious grossness. xDDD

That's reason enough to celebrate right there! I think I'll open a new account now so I can forever keep that incredible number! XD

I think I've had that happen before! Or that there was more on it than we were told when we received it as a gift...
I celebrate being in love! With a house!
Guest- Guest
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Ooooh...did you purchase said house or just find one that you want to buy? Either way, that's exciting! Ah, I look forward to the day when I can own a house. For now, I am content renting one with my two roommates.
I celebrate that my undergraduate research on mockingbirds is now officially published! The exact project I spear-headed had some logistic issues with collecting data, but my mentor wrote up a second manuscript using the data I analyzed, and after months of going back and forth with the journal editor, the final version is now out! And the best part is that I'm the second of only two authors. That means when people cite it, they have to say (Last name and Last name, 2011) instead of (Last name et al., 2011). I'm not an et al.! YAY!!!!!

I celebrate Axiom Awaits' persistence in finding solutions to creative problems and for all his hard work, ingenuity, resourcefulness, and all the knowledge he possesses on coding. FoG 2.0 is going to be amazing, and I just can't wait.

We put in an offer for the house, but we are not sure if we got it just yet. And then there are other steps to go through... I can't help being excited though. I haven't even seen the inside of it yet, because I was at work when Ryona walked through it, but I will see it today.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I finally got to play Halo: Reach with my brother! We haven't been able to play for a long time... It is funny hearing him get so aggravating, especially knowing that I used to be the same way. And we actually played pretty good, winning far more games than we lost. We only lost 2 actually...and we played about 10 or 11.
I picked up a sniper rifle in the second game we played. The sniper rifle used to be my favorite weapon, but I am so out of practice that when I zoomed in and tried to use it, it felt like I was trying to snipe from horseback... And what really sucks is I don't have the time to get back into playing it, so I will never get better.
Anyway, yay for finally finding time to play with my brother!

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I just ordered all the current (1-7) Fate of the Jedi books in hardcover for a really great price. I'm so excited to read those! I only have one book left to read now after the one I'm on in The Legacy of the Force series. The Fate of the Jedi is the very last book series of Star Wars (timeline-wise), taking place the furthest into the future from the films.
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Where have you heard that it is the last series? I have tried finding a source somewhere, but I haven't found that anywhere... I know that it is the latest, but I haven't read anywhere that it is the last.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Just go to Wookiepedia and type in 'books.' (I'd link you to it, but I'm on my cell phone.) It lists them all in order of the timeline. The last in the timeline (at least for the time being) is Fate of the Jedi. There are still 2 more books in the series, one coming out in August of this year, and the last in 2012. They are by no means the final books about Star Wars though, if that's what you thought I meant, just the ones that take place furthest into the future/there are currently no other ones that take place past this time period.
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Ok... that makes sense. I just thought that you had said (somewhere else as well, I think in What are you reading?) that these were the last books that were ever going to be written, at least for this time period and these characters. That these were the last books. But I hadn't read that anywhere, and to be honest you had me worried
A lot of reviews I hear of these books, and Legacy of the Force, they are not very good. I love them though, and I am disappointed that most readers can't let a few things slide here and there to just enjoy the books... I am glad that you and Lara are both interested in them though! It is nice to know I am not the only one sucked into Star Wars.
