Re: The Celebration Thread :D
All wonderful news everyone!
Happy birthday, Hisoka!
Congrats, Arie. You're certainly a bubbly character who could make someone's evening great. =D
And Silvan, that's always good. I texted like a fiend before my now-boyfriend moved nearer to me. Long distance is always hard, but I can attest to it being worth it!
Congrats on more work (though not the 5 am stuff), Squall.
I personally celebrate getting more work in my hopefully novel done and writing several more articles. I celebrate a good, relaxing weekend, even though I didn't get much sleep. (I walked Relay for Life all night Friday. So I celebrate helping to find a cure for cancer as well. Here's to hope! I celebrate life in general, how about that? =D

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I got a letter from my grandmother! =D I haven't spoken to her in YEARS and recently sent out a small package to her with a letter attached - I've literally been glomping the mailman every day waiting for her reply! She's such a sweet little old thing and this whole letter writing thing - which I have NEVER done - feels like I'm partaking in something ancient and yet extremely new. Who woulda thought? Writing down a conversation and then WAITING for a week to get a reply? It's so retro! XD
However, I need to start scanning my letters before I send them because it was almost 2 weeks since I sent mine and...I've kinda forgotten what I said. =/ Heaven forbid I end up repeating myself - it might sound like I'm writing down practiced lines or make me look like a dork. >,<;

That's so great, Time! I used to be a pen pal for a girl I met on a fanfiction site, and there was something so endearing about receiving and writing hand-written letters. Also, when my Nana was young, she kept up a long-distance relationship with her to-be husband for three years using only letters while he was stationed overseas with the navy before they got married. I just melt hearing that story ^_^.
I celebrate that I'm going to be tackle-hugging my crush and spending most of Halloween weekend with him in THREE DAYS!!!! So...freaking...close! Hurry UP, Friday!!!!

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
That is an adorable story, Time. And yours too, Silvan, about your Nana! =D
I celebrate being alive after a head-on car wreck into a tree after almost going down a cliff last night with nothing more than some bruises, bumps, and all-over soreness.
What else can I celebrate? Hm. I can celebrate that it's almost Halloween! Which is an awesome holiday. I also celebrate the plastic orange pumpkin full of candy on my desk, haha.
I can celebrate having a good cup of coffee and hearing from home this morning. And having no homework to do tonight!

Thanks Kathryn! It was extremely scary, but no one got seriously hurt. My bff and I were on the side that hit the tree, and we are both really stiff and sore. But the driver is okay except for his hands getting all jammed up against the dash.
But yes, once again, I think they fact that I'm alive is worth celebrating -again! Haha.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Today is already SUCH a good day! I got back the in-class portion of my last physiology test and NAILED IT! And this is from a professor that has intimidated me for much of the semester, but I'm finally getting into the groove with this class. Now as long as I nailed the take-home portion, I can rest easy.
I also celebrate that I get to spend the afternoon packing and prepping my car for the drive home, cuz I'm leaving tonight to go home for what will hopefully be an awesome weekend! I'll be sure to post pictures afterward! I haven't been this excited for something in a long time!

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I celebrate having clear plans to be productive this weekend (which is more than I can say for most weekends)!
On my to-do list:
wash the bedsheets
clean Sky's cage
work on my Digimon drawing
write some for my Following Dusk story
bake bread with my boyfriend's mom
go grocery shopping
I will try to stick to this plan.

I noticed today is Saint Michel's 21st birthday. So, on behalf of myself and the rest of the over aged members of FOG, allow me to give you this wonderful gift.
Happy 21st. Take some Tylenol before you go to bed.

I can't have that here. No fair. (If I was anywhere else in the world but America, I think I'd be allowed haha.)
I celebrate this day being almost over, and I celebrate Thanksgiving break being just around the corner.

I celebrate that I have two presentations done, but the 30-minute biggie is still to come, as well as my physiology test. But you're right, Thanksgiving break is quickly approaching!

I wish it was approaching faster! Ugh.
BUT!
I celebrate it being Friday night and having the weekend to relax and do nothing but probably work on NaNo.

Thanks, but it's not for another week. ^^_^^
It probably won't be awesome because I have to work, but I'll celebrate the weekend after that, so it'll hopefully not be so awful. =3

I shared a short bit of conversation with someone who I want to be friends with, and it felt good having my friend back. ^.^ Thanks, that made my stressful day a little less stressful.

I'll save the happy birthday for when we get closer, Kathryn.
Glad that went well, Arie.
Hm. I celebrate having five days until I get to go home! I wish I was going home tonight though. Bleh. But I get to stay home for ten days, so it will be well worth the wait!

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I celebrate spending an entire Saturday afternoon with my Dad's side of the family... 21 Aunts/Uncles, 26 of 30 first-cousins, almost two dozen 2nd cousins (cousins' children), and at least another 40+ assorted friends of the family.
On top of that, I'll see over half of them all over again for Thanksgiving on Thursday.

Well you're missing out! My family is the coolest on the planet! Oh, and that's not even including my equally cool family on my mom's side, which includes another 10 Aunts/Uncles and about 20 cousins... plus a bunch of those cousins have kids too.
And, now that I think about it... those 50 cousins are NOT including all the wives/husbands of cousins, only blood-relation.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Believe me Space, I am pretty much as far away from the 'family oriented person' type as one can get... and that isn't adding in the reclusiveness! lol
I also would like to celebrate ordering an Agalloch shirt yesterday.

I don't think I'm missing out. Like Melancholy, I'm not a family oriented person. I can hardly deal with my two little brothers, my father, my little sister, and my grandmother. I wouldn't want to have to deal with any more family. ^x_x^
I celebrate that tonight there will technically be a blue moon. =3

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I feel very lucky to be working for such sweet, kind-hearted people. I've never had a job like this before where the employers truly care about their employees and go out of their way for them. They cook us free meals every day we work while we're on the clock, which has always been amazing, and they're just such motherly and fatherly types. They're all Chinese, even though I work in a sushi restaurant (which is Japanese), and I'm not sure if that might be why they are so different in that regard, caring a little more for others and a little less about themselves.
Last night, my boss was just chatting with me and asked what I was doing for Thanksgiving. I told him I'm visiting family, but it kind of sucked, since I'm working Wednesday (and I work till 9:30/10:00), and my boyfriend has friends coming over that night at around 7:30 to hang out and see our place, and since I have to get up real early the next day to drive home for Thanksgiving, I was explaining I wasn't going to get to hang out with them long. I meant it in a "This should have been scheduled for another time" type of way. Then, later before I left when my shift was over, he stopped me and said, "Oh and Jeanette, if you want to leave early Wednesday night to see your friends longer, that's fine." What kind of boss would do that? Definitely not ones I've had in the past. I thought that was really sweet.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I guess I might as well join the party and celebrate my workplace, too. ^^ It doesn't sound quite as pleasant as Fate's, but all the people I work with are friendly and congenial. And we always share food with everyone in the break room and come up with events and things like that.
I think part of it might be that we're not selling anything; we're just there to be a public service. And I think another part might be having to deal with the public from the top down--more on the top and less going down, which seems opposite from businesses. xD Lends a certain camaraderie to the enterprise, I think.
And then of course, being a library, most of the people who work there are the intelligent sort, which is A+++ for me. ^^ So yay!
And hey, since it's Thanksgiving, this can be one of my official things to be Thankful for. ^_^

Fate, that is soooo amazing! My supervisors and such are really cool, but they're not that lax. Then again, I work for a chain and not just a private business, so that could be part of it. =3
{EDIT}
OMG, guys! Guess what!
I entered a contest for SugarPill Cosmetics. It was a Halloween costume/make-up contest, and whoever wins will get a pallet depending on the category! Well, I entered with the pictures I've used in my set-up, and I was one of the four finalists!
The thing is that the people running the contests are allowing the general public to vote on who will be the winner for each category. If you want to help me win, you can vote for my entry HERE! My entry is under the Heaven category. =3
Kalon, that's really great that you have a nice workplace. ^^_^^
