Yay! That's certainly something to celebrate, Ryona! I wish you and Silvone many more happy years together!

Thanks very much. It's hard to explain how much these past three years have meant to me. But I suppose no one wants to hear it but my spouse!

I certainly don't mind hearing about it. In this day and age when I hear about rising divorce rates and just a general lack of family values, it really encourages me to hear good news like this ^_^

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Congratulations, Ryona and Silvone! That's so exciting!
Silvan, I personally believe that every generation feels that the current generation "lacks family values," so I don't really put much worth in that idea. I mean, not too long ago, people didn't even marry for love as much as for circumstance. Sure, there probably wasn't as much divorce, but I'm sure there wasn't any more or less marital happiness as there is today. Who says that kids are raised any better or worse these days? Maybe it's just more widely discussed that people are unhappy in their relationships than it was back then. =3
I celebrate that I got to see Tangled for free today though I do believe it would have been worth paying for the ticket if I'd had to do that. ^^_^^

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
You make a good point, Kathryn. I suppose everyone has their own opinion of "family values." Being raised in a Christian home, I've always associated lasting marriages with good family values. It just makes me sad when I hear about marriages that start out strong, where the two people married out of love, only for it to fall apart a few years later. That's why the hopeless romantic in me loves hearing success stories like Ryona and Silvone ^_^

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
It's not just what we value, but what we compromise on that keeps us going. There is a lot of things that Silvone and I have the ability to understand, agree upon, and let go of, that would sent most others to divorce. It's an understanding beyond value, religion, or even love. It's just...I don't know. An ability to be more than spouse, friend, parent. To value something beyond marriage, monagamy, financial security...etc.
Again, its very hard to explain. But you should understand that it is not luck or spiritual guidance that keeps us together. It's a lot of hard work. And I celebrate it!

I actually think you did a very good job at explaining it right there, Ryona.

I would like to add that it was very touching as well. ~nods~
I celebrate Ryona's (seemingly? hehe) high level of awareness of herself and place in life.

Aw, thanks. I wasn't expecting to be celebrated for my rather odd point of view on life, hahaha. But I celebrate being celebrated!

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I celebrate the fact that it snowed for the first time today - nice big fluffy white sheet on the ground - and I didn't even need to shovel. That's my least favorite part of snow every year - in addition to slipping and falling on my keester whenever I go outside - having to shovel the driveway in bitter cold. But something was up with it this morning and the snow melted on ONLY the driveway! Perfect way to start the first snow of the season. ^_^

I'm so glad I don't live where you live. I dislike snow a lot. Frankly, I'm hoping against hope that I won't have to truly deal with snow of any kind until I visit my lover in the mountains.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
You lucky person... I was teased by my dish subscription. They're like, "Oooh. Let's give you AMC for a little while, so you can see how good it is!" I only watched it for The Walking Dead, and I was hoping we'd still have it for the season finale, but nooooo! Now we get WE in it's place. :: gags ::
I hope you enjoy it, though! I won't be able to watch it until tomorrow. =3

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I celebrate a SECOND day of snow and no shoveling! It's been snowing nonstop since 2:30 AM and it's 4-5 inches! I told hubby this morning when we looked out at flawless snow, "Can I cross my fingers that the magic will happen to the driveway again?" and he said there was no way it was going to melt like yesterday. AND THE DRIVEWAY MELTED AGAIN!

I can't believe it. I finally heard from him again.... It's so bittersweet. I'm so thankful I have my friend Kristin to talk to abut everything. I'm sad and lonely and confused, but at the same time grateful and hopeful.
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
So, waitressing tonight actually went really well, especially for my first time! People were really cool and nice, and wow were they generous! I was expecting to make around $60 or $70 in tips (since it was a private party, and their bill was over $1,000, and split the tip between 2 waitresses and the sushi bar), but instead I made a total of $120 in tips! Not only that, but I really felt GOOD waitressing. It was somehow really fulfilling giving people what they needed, and it made me feel good. I enjoyed just serving people, and I met some really sweet ones tonight.
All-in-all, good night.
All-in-all, good night.
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Wow, really happy it went well for you, Fate! Peeked at your journal and knew you were nervous about it - so glad that everything worked out alright!

Yes, that is awesome that went well for you.
I celebrate being thiissss close to going home. Only some finals and some packing and I'm good to go!
I also celebrate cleaning my room - brutally, I might add. Every surface. Dusted, dishes, vacuumed, sorted my food, etc. Now I just have to tackle laundry... >.<

Sounds awesome!
I celebrate being home, learning how to make soap, and having a great date night with my boyfriend tonight.
"Due Date" is fantastic, if anyone was wondering.

I celebrate finally making it to Utah after my connecting flight left without me. Effing weather made my flight to Denver late. >=(

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Aw, sweet! List of movies in my queue that came onto Netflix Instant Watch today:
Trick 'r' Treat (excited!!!)
The Fountain (awesome!!!)
Pay It Forward (aw, rewatch, but great heart flick!)
The Lost Boys (OMG! YOUNG, vampire Keifer Sutherland sporting a mullet! Awww, yeeeaaah, babeh!!!)
Also,
My husband just woke up and told me about a dream he had in which we owned too many cats and tried to fit them all into the cat carrier. He said that we only had four(including Steve, our current kitty) but by that point I was laughing hysterically at the image it put in my head.
He stood kinda flabbergasted but amused as I tried to articulate myself through rolling bursts of laughter and I ended up miming most of it: Sitting on the couch, I mimed putting Steve in her cat carrier and mumbled around boisterous giggles "There you go, Steve. Now other kitty..." as I mimed picking up a different cat, obviously having a bit of "difficulty" putting this one in, but smiling happily when I reached for a new cat. Gasping and my eyes tearing up on the third cat, having a lot of difficulty("No, no--now you get-IN-there-!") I turned to him and gestured at my "invisible cat carrier stuffed with three kitties" and said "'Dis is gettin' hard!"
Finally, I calmed down and he explained the rest of the dream to me instantly flaring up a new attack of hilarity as he described MORE cats arriving and us "stabbing" them as a solution to getting rid of them all. Squeezing my thighs together so I didn't accidentally soil my pajama bottoms, I started to mime again and gasp out a narrative, "Too many cats! Let's just stab the extra ones!"
Ah, goodness. What a way to start the first!

Awwwh, The Lost Boys always makes me smile. That's the movie my lover and I were watching the first time we kissed.
I celebrate getting along with my little sister for once. It's such a change. She's fourteen and I'm twenty so you can see the problem here. But she's actually not throwing the young teen hellish nightmare screaming temper tantrums for once. Freakin' score.
I also celebrate having an excellent night out last night with my boyfriend, my brother and his girlfriend on our double date, even if Paranormal Activity 2 was laughable at best.
