Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I got Theoden some space stickers and a shirt with Buzz Lightyear on it that says "No one gets left behind". I spent a total of $2.50 on his Love Day gift since I am not a woman of means right now, and it was worth every penny watching him open his gift. He is a very appreciative little boy.

Considering the idea that Saint Valentine ((for whom the holiday is named)) got stoned to death, I don't blame you. =3

My fraternity (with 33 active members currently) just took in 21 NEW PLEDGES! If they all make it through the process, that will bring our Brother count up to 54!

I celebrate my first post for Ryona's The Battle of Celebrant role-play in the advanced section! I, personally, think it turned out great, and I just hope all future posts can match it in quality.

Woohoo! Congrats, Ryona! Take a print screen quick before you lose this historic moment!
I celebrate being extremely productive today. I finished a monster of a problem set for my stats class, got caught up on grading, and pitched a thesis idea to two potential advisors. I hope something falls into place on the thesis front soon!

A recent check of my bank statement shows that my last $30 gas purchase was erroneously charged as only $3. Cool!

Tartra comes home from her trip today! Or possibly tomorrow...I'm not really sure. Hope she has a safe journey home and can't wait to hear all about it!

I got moved to graveyard shift!!! Meaning a more permanent position that's not as taxing. I get to go back to sleeping in when I go to bed, and I can go do things when everyone's away at work!!! Also there's a possibility of a pay increase of 1.5 dollars if I'm lucky!!
The best part is that I can keep this job when I go back to school. W00t!!! No more worries about losing money when I start school again!!!

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I ordered some books online a few days ago and the first arrived today: The first book of the Gandalara Cycle(which is actually three books in one book as it's Vol. I )! So excited! I remember reading this book in middle school and then I lent it to somebody and never got it back!

W00t!!! St. Patrick's day!! Time to go weird out some people and surprise them with the fact I'm Irish!
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I finally finished making my Star Wars character - Lyla Rynn. :] I was inspired to do so from reading a 14-book Star Wars series while at work.
Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Ryona and I found our son a Buzz Lightyear space blaster (mini nerf gun) that we bought him for Easter. Now he will be able to play in the nerf gun fights we have! I really hope he likes it... It makes noises, so even if he can't shoot the thing yet he can still pretend.

I'm gonna see my niece for the first time since she's been born!! .... I'm dead nervous but I can't wait to see her and go to Disneyland with her. I swear we two will probably be the most excited kids there. XD
I just hope she likes me. <.<

That sounds like fun! And nerve-wracking... How old is she?

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I believe she's 5 or a few years older. Either way it's kind of amusing how she's intimidating me so much, and she probably doesn't even know she's going to meet me.
More good news. I finally got my hair straightened. It's SOOOO much easier to manage now.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I just found two awesome jobs to apply for! Unfortunately, I can't until the morning, since all my stuff is on the other computer, in the bedroom, where everyone is sleeping... And I have to find some work examples, good ones, to put with it... Hopefully I have something. Either way, it will fulfill a long-time dream just to apply!

(Ugh, had a long post typed but lost it, drawback from phone posting)
Anyway, Kaysey and I made Chicken Cacciatore today. Normally all I use a stove for is boiling ramen or frying up omlettes, so I felt accomplished!
I'm such a dork, I photographed this silly victory. We were halfway done, just needed some mushrooms and a garlic clove.
As a complaint though, I can't properly resize this from my phone. >_<

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
Had I attempted to cook such a thing, it would not have been worth taking a picture of, let alone eating...
Things are finally starting to look up for me at work! A small raise (due to number of hours worked, but still), and I might be getting moved to days instead of nights, to help out with grocery more (which is what I really want to do).
Also, I have fulfilled my dream of applying at Bungie, and I may soon fulfill my dream of owning a house. Maybe... if things turn out right.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
In that spirit I celebrate my niece's cuteness. She was adorable... but very exhausting. I need the week to recuperate. It was definitely worth it though.
[/edit]
Also want to celebrate that I made a great deal of progress on my comic. It really feels like only a few more days worth of work and the world I created will be completely done aside from tech design (which is kind of a must for any sci-fi). But in terms of how the world I created works with itself, I'm completely done after 2 years of work!!! Now all I'm doing is a number of character sheets and villain themes and more relatively easy stuff.
It's strange but after 2 years of organizing the world and figuring out what characters I need I feel a strange mixture of success and depression now that part of the journey is finished. Still got a lot more to go through, but I'm gonna enjoy every bit of success here.

Re: The Celebration Thread :D
I'm glad you had a great time with your niece and that you're making progress on your comic! I've got two separate novel ideas on the back-burner for now, but I wish I could devote the time needed to fleshing out the plots more!
I celebrate that, after a semester of meetings and back-and-forths, I FINALLY have an advisor and committee for my thesis project! It's taken so much stress, emailing, and scheduling meetings to get to this point, but now I have a project that I have (and still am) designed and have ownership. It's a wonderful, surreal feeling knowing that I am designing my own thesis from scratch as opposed to someone just handing me a project in progress. The hardest parts are still to come, but having people who are finally committed to working with me and supporting me is such a relief. I feel like I've conquered a mountain today.
