Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I suppose the "common" language would be Human. Quendi Elvish is probably the language of study, thanks to the Great Library.
I'd say the meeting thing is both discussing the kidnappings and a regular leadery-people meetingy thing, PLUS a chance encounter of destined people à la the Council of Elrond.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
It is really up to you. I've read somewhere that it is better to italicize than to make up a language, but then again, those books that have made up languages seem that much more awesome...
I suppose it would depend on whether or not you want to make a language.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Okay. I'll probably use Italics the majority of the time, but at others I'll use the language I've been working at slowly.
Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I'm sorry to say this, but I'm going to have to drop out of the roleplay, guys. Kalon, you're more than welcome to include Am into anything you wish to do in the story, as well as incorporate any ideas that I've come up with, but I've just got too much on my plate at the moment and I think it might be best if I focused my attention on my own endeavors.
I apologize for making anything difficult on anyone if I do.

It's fine, Gunneh. Do what you have to. I am sure Kalon will treat your world-space with care.

Thanks for letting us know.
I'm going to assume that Kalon will take control of that area?

So... wait...
Silvone, you want us to write an in-character account of the kidnapping, or did I misread that?

I would be fine with that approach.
I could tell each person who came for their notable person being kidnapped.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Yeah. That sounds all right with me. I don't mind working with someone else to decide how my notable leader is kidnapped. Having one of the Library owners kidnapped is enough to send the Quendi in the four territories into an uproar as Kalon mentioned, and it gets my character directly involved.
Plus, I have no idea how Handilyë Varyamë ((the Library owner)) should be kidnapped because I don't really know Morgarath's style. =3

Silvone is in class right now, and I'm not sure if he means describing the kidnapping in character now or revealing the kidnapping through in character posts. The latter would mean that we would not be posting that information for a while. I'll ask him when I pick him up, but his class isn't out for another hour or two...(I can't remember...)

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
What I meant was simply to send me a brief description describing what happens and how. It doesn't need to be in character. However, if you prefer to send me a description In Character, I can combine all of your descriptions and include it in the first post, that way everyone (or mostly everyone) can have their touch in the introduction.
Sorry to hear that you have to go, Gunneh. Hopefully things work out for you. Next quarter will probably be hard for me as well. Not sure how I will handle all of the work. Thanks for letting us know, and feel free to come back whenever you have the time. I'm sure your land and character will be waiting for you.
As for the meeting, they would be their to discuss not only the kidnappings, but what seems to be the return of the shadows from the Wars of Illuria, and other times. Perhaps they are meeting to determine whether the kidnappings are related to the appearances of shadowy evilness?

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I'm afraid that I will have to pull out as well. (Luckily, I am not as major as a part, and I can be easily NPC'd.) School has backfired, and I've got to go school hunting, FASFA doin', and apartment hunting now, and when this gets up and running, I will have all of that going on whilst trying to figure out how to post and and the like.
On a different note, you all have put extreme efforts into this, and I'm sure once it's taken off, it will be one of the most read productions. [smiles] I am sorry that at this time I couldn't be apart of it. Best wishes and luck to you all in this masterpiece.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Sorry to hear about that. I'm sure I will be suffering next quarter, seeing as how it is my last quarter in college. Senior seminar will undoubtedly suck. I would hold on to your character sheet though, just in case you ever decide to come back later on. You will certainly be welcome to. Hopefully this role-play will be around for a while.
Good luck.
Edit: Nevermind. Your character sheet will always be here, since it is posted in the information thread, unless you personally edit it and delete it. So if you ever rejoin, we will just have to relink it!

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I'll keep Äm safe. I'm sure Dax, too, will help, since Vatienne were descendants of the Mandorians, and Äm, in turn, is an offshoot of Vatienne. ^^
Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Sorry to hear it, attie. I'm sure raptorman will take good care of your character, if you ever decide to come back.

I will. I wish you weren't leaving.
But should you come back your character will be in working order.

Hello Danger wrote:Silvone, I believe the Aqualyts should be added to either the Culture or History and Lore sections, but I'm not sure which one... Sorry I didn't notice that sooner.
I'll add them to culture. Sorry it took so long!
It's so hard to keep everything straight in my head. It seems the harder I try to organize, the more chaotic it gets...lol
Edit:
I updated the map section to include my world map (in progress), scale, and the travel stats that I had tossed up earlier.

You can take my world map down. I won't be updating it. I just can't write that small.

I took it down. But if you want to, you could make one that is strictly political. Something to replace the ugly land claim map? Each region could have the name of the Province and points to represent cities. Just an idea, if you would like to do it.
Oh yea, this is Ryona. Oops

I could do that definitely. It's just all the little features and things that I just can't fit in and give it justice.
Oh. Before I map it out, does anyone have a color preference for your area? I have a 96 pack of crayons that I am dying to break open.

Any particular shade? I have a box full of crayons at my disposal and I am not afraid to use them!

As close to my av/sig as you can get, I guess. No real preference, and I'm color-blind to shades anyway

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
You could do Yellow for Aendrel, Red for Äm, and just guessing but I think Vatienne would be a good candidate for Gold. ^^ (is there a Gold crayon?)
Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I think mine would be good as cyan? I think that's what is closest to the blue in the outfit of this.

I think an earthy green or tan would suit my character well enough.

I will be estimating the borders. Enough have given maps that I can figure out the borders.
One question: Kathryn, does your country go all the way to the border of Sigh's?

Yes. My country borders Sighlent's. It also borders Caleb's.
