Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Okay everyone, I've got some bad news.
My computer picked up a virus either late last night or in the early hours of this morning. (I'm posting this from my mom's latop right now) I'm working on getting the Virus removed, however I do not know how long it will take. So, until I get it fixed my work process will be hampered, and my activity will be scarce. I'll still work on stuff by handwriting it, but again, until I get my compy fixed I can't get any of it up on here.
Sorry guys, I know that you all want to get started soon and I keep holding it back.

Dang those viruses!
I hae a question for you. If we started, do you think you know your character well enough to pump out an introductory post even if your character sheet is not up and running?

Yeah, they're all pains in the arse!
As for if I'd be able to do an intorductory post even though my char sheet isn't done, I think I might be able to. I might need to do a few exercises to get to know her better (and tell me her name and appearance...) then I should be able to.

Thanks, me too.
I'll work on those exercises and all the other stuff that I can while I work on fixing it.

Other than a few missing sheets, everything else appears solid. What else needs to be worked on? I have an abundance of time if anyone needs assistance.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Well I am all set myself, just waiting for it to start.
I would like to start soon as I have stuff coming up. SATs and ect.
Not enough to interfere in posting, but enough to restrict my online time a bit.

Sentient Species and Races in Emoria
I still need to add tynir, but I don't have that information yet. If I left anything out, please let me know.
The lists are rather compacted. Some people have a lot of information available, some people don't. I wanted the list to look uniform, rather than having some extremely detailed species and some with just a paragraph. So I took the most important information and put it in.
If I left anything extremely important out that you want mentioned, let me know and I will try to include it in.
If I left any other species or races out except the one I already mentioned, please let me know.
As far as humans, I only included the races of humans that were different from the others because of magical abilities. These typically stem from their religion, so I didn't delve into it deeply. Those without any distinguishing characteristics (Arbians, Spirian's, etc.) were left out. They will be included in political and cultural areas.

Sythen have not been seen within the mountains of night.
They are not known to have a homeland of any kind and are known as highly reclusive wanderers.

Looks good, Silvone.
And update on my situation. I'm going to tentatively call it fixed, since I spent pretty much all day working at it and I think I solved everything. But, I'm not 100 percent sure, so the next few days will be the telling period.
And just so everyone is aware, Plague and I will be scarce tomrrow as he is flying home.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I added Lycans to the species list, as well as altered my character sheet to include a more detailed description of Jasidin society. I am now attempting to not call my people the 'sorceresses', because that only represents the female portion of the people. The correct term is the Jasidin, Sorceresses (female) and Saves (male).

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I regret doing this but I will NOT be participating in this. Do what you want with my world space, as I know it is generally tied into a lot of other people's ideas it would be wise to keep it. However, this is up to all of you. I do not want any PM's, Facebook messages, or anything of that sort as to asking me why but I'm basically leaving this site. I'm posting this here because practically everyone that I associate with is currently involved with this RP. There are a lot of negative issues factoring in to my leaving, but that is besides the point. My stay here at FOG has been one that I will never forget and I do love you guys but the winds of change have called and I'm afraid I must answer. This does not typically mean I have given up on Roleplaying. I will still be slightly active on RPG via the IRC. If for some reason you feel compelled to contact me my PM's for this site are linked to my E-Mail, and I do know that many of you have my MSN as well.
But this is, for all intensive purposes, my good-bye.
I'm sorry you guys.
Forever yours,
Sighlent

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Alright then, thank you for letting us know.
We will be keeping the area for now, and Kathryn will assume control over any issues that may reside there until we can figure out what to do with it. I've chosen Kathryn because she has the most invested in this land.
Our options include
a) dropping the nation (pretend it didn't exist)
b) wiping out the nation as a plot idea
c) keeping it as a non-playable nation
d) opening the nation up to a steward (either a completely new role player, or one of our nations taking over hers)
I am not a fan of option a, and I think option c would be complicated in the future.
Therefore, my votes are on b or d. I would love to hear your opinions, though.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Personally, I want to keep the nation. I have no problems with presiding over that land as far as details and the like go until we can figure out what we want to do.
My favorite options are C and D, but I don't have a preference as to which one is chosen.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Perhaps, if you have the time, you could gather what information of those lands can NOT change. Regardless of what option we go with, I would like to scrap as much of the details as possible to give new players more freedom, or if it is a non-playable nation, a lack of detail is a great way to give it a sense of mysteriousness.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I think it is time to get the ball rolling.
I think a good way to start this would be to have me post up one long introduction post that would describe the beginnings of our plot. But in order to do this, I would need to know who is kidnapped from where and why. I will need either PM's or a list of all the people kidnapped, where they were kidnapped from, how it was done, etc.
If no one agrees on this for a starter, then that is fine. But we need to discuss how it is going to be done.
If we go with my idea, then the beginning of our story will end up something like this:
-Introduction post by Silvone concerning basics of plotline, perhaps ending with introduction of Dasciis.
-Introduction posts from all of the characters currently participating, even if not traveling to the meeting.
-Ending post by Silvone describing the decisisons of the meeting and the tentative destinations of the various groups.
After the last post, I will create separate threads based on where we decide we are all going, and we can continue on from there. But none of this can happen if we don't actually start.
So...send me the information so I can get it started, or lets discuss a better way to do this. I'm certainly open for suggestions.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I know who will be kidnapped from the Plane of Air, however, I don't know how they would be taken.
Does anyone have any ideas? Raptor, how would your character kidnap someone for the Plane of Air?

Enough to make this possible? Tell me who was kidnapped, tell me where they were kidnapped from, and tell me how it was done. The amount of detail is up to you, but preferrably it is enought for me, or anyone else, to describe it In Character.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Sentient Species and Races in Emoria
Some creatures for the Elemental Planes:
- Spoiler:
Raiskil (Fire Birds)
Raiskil reside on the Plane of Fire, but can sometimes be found on the Material Plane. The body of a Raiskil is made mostly of flame. It appears in the form of a large bird and is often called a fire bird for that reason. They appear to feed on fire or lava. The only part of a Raiskil not covered in flames is its beak and legs. Raiskil are chaotic and are said to fly over battlefields.
Ember Hounds
Ember Hounds reside on the Plane of Fire. They range from the size a hyena to up to eight feet in height as elders. They appear as hounds with leathery red fur-less skin, fiery pupil-less eyes and are ghastly thin. Fire covers their paws as they walk and they spit fire. This results in Ember Hounds being called hell hounds in some cultures. They often roam in small packs as adults. Elders tend to be solitary. They are extremely hostile.
Shock Lizards
Shock Lizards reside on the Plane of Fire. They appear as small lizards with a body one to two feet in length and a tail that is slightly longer. It is a pale yellow in color with round orange eyes. It has a long and thin tongue for grabbing insects. It can release an electrical shock from its body that can be as strong as a lightning bolt. They are said to steal small treasures and are often blamed for such mysterious thefts. This is largely superstition, as no one has ever caught one in the act.
Jubis (Mist Dragons)
Jubis reside on the Plane of Water, but can sometimes be found on the Material Plane. Jubis are large blue water serpents that vaguely resemble dragons. Their scales are highly reflective and aid them in disappearing in the mists. Jubis are said to be peaceful and are opposed to chaos.
Wave Cats
Wave Cats reside on the Plane of Water. They are about the size of horses. Waves Cats have thin fur of a blue hue. They have the body of a lion and the tail of a fish. They have lungs and gills. They can be domesticated as pets or even ridden as a mount. Wave Cats live in prides and hunt in ways comparable to that of a land cat.
Drowned Steeds
Drowned Steeds reside on the Plane of Water. It is said that the Drowned Steeds, or skeletal horses, are what remains when a unicorn dies who had betrayed the light. Others say they are horses who died violently in battle. They say that they guide the souls of people who drown. These beasts haunt the waters and their footsteps can be heard even under water.
Daoh (Earth Wardens)
Daoh reside on the Plane of Earth. Daoh are stone gargoyles resembling fu dogs. They are about eight to ten feel tall. They are friendly guardians who are said to guide those who find themselves lost on the Plane of Earth. They are wardens that serve to protect the land and its secrets.
Stone Wisps
Stone Wisps reside on the Plane of Earth. They appear as tiny glowing stones that float about freely. They are said to be a good omen.
The Colossals
The Colossals reside on the Plane of Earth. It is said that these are the abandoned creations of the primordials. Most are trapped as statues, but some still roam the grasslands of the Plane of Earth.
T'Ku
The T’ku reside on the Plane of Air. Not much is known about the T’ku other than the fact that they reside, maintain and guard the Bird Sanctuary, a place where birds are honored. They appear as bird-like totems that are possessed by a bird or wind spirit.
Dusk Runners
Dusk Runners reside on the Plane of Air, but can be found on the Material Plane. Dust Runners are very similar to the cockatrices in form. They come in almost any color. They can grow up to five feet tall and smaller varieties exist. They have an enjoyable personality and ones used by the Ionairus are called Snipes.
Heero Sentinels
The Heero Sentinels reside on the Plane of Air. Created by the Ionairus to combat the forces of Ion, these humanoid robots are controlled through magic. The standard model is seven feet tall, clad in armor-like metal and with wings at the feet.
Also, the information on the Elementals that I posted earlier should be included.
Perhaps in a Bestiary. As long as it is somewhere.

Silvone, I believe the Aqualyts should be added to either the Culture or History and Lore sections, but I'm not sure which one... Sorry I didn't notice that sooner.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I have a few questions for everyone.
First off, my character has only the faintest grasp of "Common" (that is what we're calling the nost used tongue, right?) So, when she talks a lot of it will be in her own language. So, my question is, when she's talking in her own language, do you want me to make up the actual language, or just write it in Italics so everyone knows what she's saying?
And my second question is about the council/meeting thing. Is it just for the purpose of finding out about the kidnappings, or is it more of a regular occurence for the leaders of the world?
As for my take on the who what should happen with the council, I would personally like to see everyone interacting. There's going to be so many opposing sides, and people will want to address their own issues and point fingers and all sorts of stuff. So, I think that we should all be allowed a few posts in it, and then one big post that sums up the decisions and stuff. Does that make any sense?
