I should have my worldspace (or, more accurately, part of Kathryn's) completed by tomorrow at the latest. Just need to fix up some typos and finalize the ecology with her and then it's done.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
You can post that history and lore if you like, Silvone, and we can update it as we go. My net is down for the time being, but I'll still be working on it.
Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Here is my idea for the plot:
Have a few very important NPC's be kidnapped (and anyone else would would like to be put in that position), and the rest of us convene at the library to figure out what to do about it?

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I am not sure Morgarath would orchestrate simple kidnapping. Perhaps he would orchestrate it so that he could get his hands on the important figures. So he could attempt to work his will upon them, aka corrupt them.
The only thing is that our original plan called for Morgarath to also attend the council meeting. How would that work if he is actively showing his hand in kidnapping?

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Maybe something bigger than Morgarath that comes and threaten all of Emoria?
OR we can have Morgarath concoct this really, really sneaky plan to capture key-world leaders AND/OR Religious leaders and corrupt them and then continue on with more evil stuff.
Morgarath would obviously come to the council and be all like,
"Who do you think did this?? ME?! WEll, I would NEVER!" and pretend to help the council but all he is doing is throwing off the actual investigation... if you guys like this I can give more of my plot ideas to you guys and Raptor (we have to keep the evil guys plot secret...kinda... after-all, no? )

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I would like to let everyone know that I am putting Caleb's land space south and east of my own, and it may or may not come between Kathryn and Raptorman's land spaces. I haven't decided yet, so if Either of you has an issue with it, let me know now.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
We do have a bit of an issue with that. We kind of need our lands to border for the Race wars and for the 3rd war of illuria to work

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
His peope have not always occupied that area, they only recently moved there from somewhere else. So your lands would have bordered in the past.
However, his land is described as desert like so if you already have a description of the area and it isn't barren, then I won't put him there.

K, I'll put him closer to Silv's and my territories then. To the west of the Library. Kathryn, I hope isn't an issue for your territory.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Hey, I got a quick question. Does Emoria only have one moon, or does it have more?

I don't think that will work too well with Kvatch. If the Listener was kidnapped, then that would mean his identity was discovered and his position would be compromised. That would leave him with the options of a) killing all who know his identity or b) killing himself while possibly killing his kidnappers in the process.
Although, that is not to say Kvatch wouldn't offer assistance to those nations who did have key figures taken. It would actually be a likelihood if it was in the best interest for international diplomacy and improved Kvatch's relationship among the other nations.

Actually, that is a good question. Especially since my nation's religion is based around it/them.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
We haven't discussed moons as far as I know. Unless anyone objects, I think we should just make it one moon.
We are open to discussion about the possibility of more than one, but whoever votes for it is expected to do the research on how multiple moons would affect the tidal forces and such. I know that those who are in Sephiris have already done research on what two moons would do.
For simplicity's sake, we may want to stick with one.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
No. That sounds fine. Actually, I think that could work a bit. I know I said via PM that the two lands shouldn't be touching, but Buzz had said something about having a little bit of a deserty area for it. I vetoed that, but if the land had the space to go from being a desert to becoming a forest, I think it could work.
As for moons, I think Emoria should have at least one, but more could be pretty. =3 I agree that one moon is preferable.
As for the kidnapping, I offer Lady Isilwen ((one of two rulers of the eastern forest territory of Forya in Taurë Arda)). I haven't really decided upon the other leaders yet...

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I think that there would be a number of moons equal to the number that is most needed.
Meaning it will equal the highest number needed/wanted since I dont think its much of importance to many nations.
I would guess 2 or 3, maybe?
As for people kidnapped... I dont know who would get 'Napped. I am struggling whether the Papus, Emperor or a bunch of Senators (cause if the Senate wants something, they get it... that is the way of a senate/parliament)

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
If it would be more conveniant for everyone, my world can be located on an island.
Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Actually Caleb, Kathryn and I have worked it out quite well, but you are welcome to an island if you would prefer it!

Territory map was updated. A few people are not updated but I know where you are so no worries. I just didn't bother since you are sharing locations.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
One moon is perfectly fine by me, I was just curious seeing as it came up while I was writing up some important rites for my species.
As for the kidnapping of important leaders, I don't think that that would work to well with my species. There's no unified government, and there's just too many Nimiaks(tribes) for any kidnapper to even make waves by kidnapping a few. Plus there's the jungle full of nasty beasties to get through before even coming close to a Nimiak.
And a quick update on my species. I hope to get all their physical and cultural stuff up tonight. As for the history and geography, that's probably going to take a bit longer, but I hope to have it done and up tomarrow. Sorry if my taking so long is holding anyone back!

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I've PMed Buzz and Caleb concerning the world-space location of Caleb's land. I'm just waiting on their replies.
Anyway, I was wondering if maybe the main OoC that contains all of the pertinent information should contain a section about the different races of Emoria? I know there are humans and elves, but there are others, too. It would just be good to have it all in one place, you know? That way people don't have to trudge through the character sheets to find the information.

I think what I might do is add on to Dax's Pantheon, and have a post that discusses different species, religions, and perhaps a bit about politics as well. I might PM Dax and discuss it with him.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I have several races to detail myself. Some serve morgarath openly, others not so much

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Sythen- The Race of serpent people. They are a rare and reclusive race. They have great difficulty breeding and they seem to in some ways not be put together quite right. They are humanoid in appearance with humanoid hand and feet. They are covered in scales and cold blooded and so rather slow moving in cold environments. Their faces are flat and covered in a layer of fine scales as well. The color of their scales ranges from dull grey to on rare occasions midnight black, or white.
Nothing much is known about their society as only a few have been seen at anyone time. It is known that those that have been seen were rather potent sorcerers and practitioners of magic.
[That is what everyone knows about them. Below is what no one besides morgarath and a few of his captains know]
The Sythen were created by Morgarath. He created them with his power and they are the only race of creatures that he himself created rather than simply corrupting. Since they are a race created by long ago magic they do not always function properly and while a sythen could live for nearly 1,000 years most die sooner when their bodies begin to fail. The Only sythen known to have survived longer than that is the original one. Asmodeaus who was the first one to be created.
Highers- The Highers are a race of Elves that were corrupted by Morgarath. Bands of them had dwelt in the moutnains before Morgarath arrived and when he did arrive he twisted them and through dark power removed the light from them replacing it with darkness. The highers live as long as elves and they look like a cross between elves and humans. Thier skin is pale and yet somehow seems to posses an aura of darkness. They are uniformly beautiful to look upon but there is something that doesn't seem quite right about them.
Lowers- The Lowers are incredibly varied but they range from goblin like creatures to things that were once men or the descendants of men.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
- Alos is not a deity; sorry if it seemed that way. He's the ruler/lord/hisghest form/embodiment of the Light Plane.
- When Alos refers to the "Highest," I specifically left it vague, so we have no idea what this "Highest" person/thing is. In addition, when the big voice deals with the Rift, there should be no indication of what is actually talking. It could be a single voice or a whole bunch together (even though it refers to itself as "I"), so there's lots of wiggle room.
- While all the races would indeed need elements from each Plane, I do think that it's not only plausible but quite intriguing to have greater quanities--or affinities, if you like--for each race. The Aqualyts, for example, would obviously have a huge affinity for Water and the Water Plane. Elves are tree-hugging, nature-loving, graceful creatures; hence my take on them as having greater affinities for Material, Earth, and Water. Humans are very good vs. evil, very materialistic, very down-to-earth, very religious or non-religious, so Material, Light, Earth, and Shadow seemed to fit, with Spirit added for the class of humans that Alos calls "sildári."
- I would love to have a timeline. If Raptorman was making one, that'd be great. I could help, if needed.
Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Still working on one. I should hopefully have the rough time scale down soon.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
All right. I'm definitely fine with specific races - while still maintaining attributes from all eight planes - containing more pieces of one plane than another. I also agree that earth, material, and water would be good ones for Elves.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Drenata would definitely be associated with Earth and Spirit. Given their shamanistic background and belief in a personal connection with nature are the closes things to religion they have. However, they are also a race corrupted by Shadow, even if they currently have re-established their connection to the Spirit Plane. They're a very dualistic race.
