You have a good rule of thumb, I'd like to amend it slightly: There is a direct relationship between effect and effort and cost. The greater the effort, the greater the effect, the greater the cost. As is the reverse.
Balance can also work across skills as well; I understand that some people who have greater magic might have weaker physical strength, and vice versa. It's all about balance
Except for Eragon-style magic, for which you'd also need physical strength.
And we could also say that effort and cost could be more than effect, but not less. Inexperience or ignorance might increase the effort or cost needlessly.
Edit: Also, that was a great post, Plauge! I'm such a hopeless romantic! xD Great scene with Alphonse and Nyana. ^^
Re: Emoria: OOC
Yes, it was great! Now I have a question...
Do I need to contact Eternity? Or are we skipping to Dax?
And did you guys decide anything further when I left chat? I forgot to get filled in on what exactly it was I need to make my character do.

Re: Emoria: OOC
So, just in the vain of the Highest conversation...Alos kinda needs to be lying to the Thendari then? Or duped himself? As it's well established in all your history that you've written that he's saying "The Highest sent me."
And I'm flattered. I'm always very brutal in critque, so I felt as though there was more to be done, but...

No, Ryona, you didn't miss anything important.
And Ryona, it is my time to post in Sretin, it is just that it will end with interaction with Eternity and as far as I know, she has gone missing. So, yes, please, try to contact her.

-curious face- Maybes ryona and I should post outside the post order since we are having interaction that could take a few posts? -nervous face- Please do not be mad if that is a stupid idea.

Re: Emoria: OOC
As far as I can tell, the deity rule isn't "All Deities Are False." It's "No Deities Are Necessarily True." Or, "There Is No Way To Prove Anything." So there won't ever be a definitive answer on whether this "Highest" being is totally true, totally false, or somewhere in between. Same with Sanctus Unus and the Earth Mother and all the others. Assuming I'm reading the rule correctly.
Re: Emoria: OOC
Let me get ahold of eternity first, Lady. then we'll see what happens.
Kalon, you understand my rule correctly. I just wanted to avoid any statements of Light IS God. Dark IS evil. Mira IS earth...-_-
Rather, replace it with "We Believe". I didn't want religious debates in emoria. get enough of them in real life.
Therefore, Kalon could never say "No, your religion doesn't work, because my religion states this."
However, his character can.

Re: Emoria: OOC
I don't really know how many other ways to say this, guys. Look...your people can believe whatever they want to believe in-character. OOC, there is no true deity. End of story. "The Highest" of the light plane can be believed to be "The Highest" in the universe for all I care, and your characters can argue about it until their faces turn blue. However, when it comes to the OOC and world-building, "The Highest" is just a name for a belief or just another guy with probably more power than is fair (but I am not getting into that). We are not pinning down any official religion or deity. As far as world-building and OOC is concerned, whatever made the universe, this world, and the planes is completely UNKNOWABLE. In-Character, your people can believe whatever they want to. Dax can say he doesn't believe Alos even exists and that eagles are pieces of Sanctus Unos after he was blown up by nuclear weapons in the 68th Age. I don't care. Anything and anyone can be considerd a deity by the people who inhabit the world. But the minute someone tries to claim that it is so OOC, I will put my foot down and say "no".

Re: Emoria: OOC
Danke. I was just trying to clarify as it pops up in the history that he's talked with him. I'll just stash it under "Alos is being a sly footz, and totally be lying to their faces."
Shan't bring it up again, boss-folk. *salutes*

It's all good.
Messaged Eternity, and she wants to come back. I told her to PM you and Dax about upcoming plot ideas. She will be on today to play catch up.

Oh.
My.
God.
This is brilliant and it will make it into Vatiennien lore one way or another. Heck, we all need heretics, right?
And it is very good to see that Eternity wants back in! I await her PM with impatience.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Hey, i posted in the MON thread. I figured I'd try and get me and Dax's little discussion moving along, whilst buzz reworks his post. Sorry if that messes with anything, Kalon or Buzz. Lemme know, and I can easily edit.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Looks like I have some posts to write. Expect something from me within the week.
By the way, Silv or Ryona are we advancing to the next day yet? Or should I get up one more post?

There, posted in MoN.
And no, it wasn't a glitch, I did indeed post, but immediately deleted it after because, well, I accidentally clicked the 'Post' button.
Also, any word on Eternity coming back?

Oooh, Daxyman, I love that arrogant priest of yours!
I don't think that I'm going to post just yet. I'll let Plague post again, then we'll see.

Nice post, Dax. I'm going to let Kalon post now, seeing as Buzz has posted his revised post. Once he has, I'll throw up another to continue our...discussion.

Re: Emoria: OOC
You are quite right on that, Ryona: nothing so far. I am waiting on her contact to start my Sretin post.
And wow, I forgot how awesome it feels to get things rolling in Emoria again. Kalon, I love you for posting with haste and quality.
Now it is time to look at what my Tynir friends have to respond. xD

Did you make the sig yourself, Ryona?

Re: Emoria: OOC
Lmao XD
Yes, sort of. I didn't draw the lady or anything, I found that awesome picture in google images, but I did add the flames and text and alter the coloring and such
I was really getting tired of my old sig.
