Wooho! I don't think I'm that far of either, but my rank isn't as great yet. ^^

I actually kind of miss the ghosties you two still have.
These ones aren't terrible, and they have their own appeal, but damn... Those first ghosties are sooooo adorable. ^*_*^

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I agree, but at the same time I'll feel like I've really stuck around at one place for a long time if the count of my ghost keeps growing. I have a terrible tendency to think something is very cool and nice for some time, then I grow lazy or something shiny steals my interest. But I really love this place, otherwise I would have moved on.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Yeah. My rank can't change until I complete a role play, so I'll be stuck with this one for a long time. =3

Ugh, battery died in the middle of the writing of a reply, meaning the text died a horrible death.
Basically, I said that through mostly dumb luck I have a finished role play, but that was on the Swedish forum way back then. But that's the only one.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I've never completed a role play. ^;_;^ I've always wanted to do it, but either through my own lack of interest or my partners', I have been unable to do so.
Even though I know Fate, Xiantic, and Lucian would consider "And By Night, They Walked" on the forum where we met each other completed, I wouldn't. =\

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Ah. Well, it was a short adventure and I stomped ahead even if some had left/just not answered for a while. The active members of the role play I also met every day in school, so it was easy to push a little when they were slow to answer. I was the game master, surprisingly, and it was my first role play on a forum and my first leading too. Meaning: it was probably a freak accident. ^^

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Regardless of how accidental it was, the fact that you finished it makes it awesome. ^^_^^

Thank you, thank you. *bows*
Although the ending got kinda strange, heh. What I've noticed is that role plays with fewer participants have a tendency to survive longer. In the end of my finished I think we were three, although we started with six I believe.

I've noticed that, too. It's because you don't have as many minds clashing about ideals and such. I know in Emoria, I've clashed more than a few times with what's been happening. It's easier to compromise with one person with whom you've chosen to play than with five who just appeared and with whom you sort of have to play or GTFO. =3

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I was thinking more of activity. If you have to depend on a lot of players to write and be active, then it will take longer and more easily die. If my friends and I hadn't ignored the ones that didn't write anymore we would have been stuck. Of course, it helped that we didn't know them and they didn't even try to bring something to the role play. ^^

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I'm sure that helped a lot, too.
There are a lot of factors that go into a role play's death.
Had you simply been in a one-on-one, you couldn't have proceeded if your partner had stopped posting. =\

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Very true. Another thing about it. It was light-hearted. Quest type. A specific goal, meaning it had an end too.
In the end ther are so many factors. Best you or I can do is to do everything we can to keep it alive.

Woke up this morning to a storm front rolling in. In response, I throw in Zombieland, lay back in bed, and relax.

It rained last night, but this morning it has stopped. Regardless, I'm bringing an umbrella with me to hang out with my friend.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
My brother graduated Jr. High today, top of his class. We are celebrating at our favorite Thai restaurant, then I have to run to school...tomorrow I'm taking Sadie in to be fixed, and I'm really nervous about that...then I have to somehow write my last five page (single spaced) paper and make my 25 minute presentation for monday and study for the final on wednesday. WHY WON'T IT END!!!!!!!!
Luckily when it is over, it's truly over.

It was beautiful, hot weather here in Stockholm today. Shiny and hot, mayhap a little too hot, but who cares in the end? It's summar!
I hope it works out, Ryona! I'm just about to write on our one on one. :3

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Heh. I don't have it that bad, well. I kinda have to do at least 2 hours of homework after every lesson, because we're doing an intensive course. But today I've listened to four hours about forced sterilization and race biology, which we Swedes did a lot during the 1900 (mostly between 1920-1970). Depressing and not very fun topics. And we're going to a museum tomorrow to look at an exhibition and workshop called "Inhuman" (in Swedish of course). I'm not really looking forward to it.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
That sounds interesting, Miss Dagger! I wish I majored in something like that, but I must admit that Communications is quite a breeze. I don't think I could handle Ryona's workload

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Holy crap, Ryona! I bet you're ready for some rest and relaxation for when you become less overworked!
So, today, I hung out outside for quite a few hours, and now I look like a lobster. XD

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Well, Silvone, it is quite interesting, but it's a dark part of Swedish history. Plus I can't imagine how it would have been to be either sterilized or lobotomised. It's just very awful stuff.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Well, my own culture isn't without its dark history. We've done some horrible things to quite a few different cultures. I find it refreshing to learn about it, because it helps me feel as though I'm not just some incompetent being led around my a carrot on a stick. It was horrible, and what happened should be shared with the world. At least, that is my opinion.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Aye that is very true. It's just not very pleasant to learn about. I knew our "neutrality" during WW2 wasn't much of neutrality, but I had no idea we did so much worse things too. I agree that it's good to learn it. But considering the dark subjects, it's never pleasant.
At the same time I'm glad I know about it now.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Personally, I find much more enjoyment out of learning dark subjects about cultures and so forth. Would even go as far as to call it more pleasant than learning about the boring (most of the time, in my mind) lighter subjects...

That's because humans have a morbid curiosity. I have a similar point of view. That's also why "darker" subjects get more viewers in the news than lighter ones.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Working at Albertsons has ruined me. I just spent an hour picking up rusty shopping carts and moving them to their designated location near the door. In Fallout 3.
Anyway, once the Super Duper Mart is cleaned up, it will make a nice place to store my stuff!
