That's what I've been wondering. I hope he didn't delete his account, but that's the only way to get one's posts to say "guest." I hope it's just a glitch and not something permanent...

He wasn't really all that active any more. Maybe that's all there was to it? He didn't have time? Maybe he didn't feel as much of a connection with the place any more? It seems less... sudden than Agenda's leaving... =\

Yes but it is saddening, he was a great RP dude and fun to talk to. He was going back to school so hopefully he just didn't need us anymore

I never role played with him, but he did a lot for this forum to gain interest. I love the FoG Toolbar, for instance. I don't want to have to live without it. ^;_;^

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I have to get part of my toenail removed...
Some of you may remember that I had to get two sides of the same toenail removed almost one after the other near the end of 2009. Well, everything was fine and dandy until a week or so ago when I realized that I've come full circle. It's growing ingrown on the side that first had the ingrown part.
There has to be a way to prevent this from happening in the future. I do not want to have to have needles stabbed into my foot and my toenail ripped from my big toe every few months... ._.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I've heard soaking your toes in vinegar and...um...hydrogen peroxide? I think? is supposed to help, though I've never done it. I just keep cutting my toe nail back and praying that one day it will stop growing wrong, because I am deathly afraid of having my nail ripped off ever since the incident. (not so awesome as in LOST, but when I was young I lost three of my fingernails and have the scars to prove it)

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Well, I didn't get it removed today. What happened last time was that when the first ingrown was removed, it shoved my nail to the other side, causing another one. Well, when the second one was removed, it shoved it back to the other side, so now we're back to it being ingrown on the first side - the right.
Apparently, getting this one removed has the same risk as the last time. They referred me to a podiatrist, so all I have to do is try calling every day until they're open for business to set my appointment. My doctor said that instead of just removing it, the podiatrist may also end up killing the right-most sliver of nail, so that piece of nail - not the whole nail - won't grow back.
My doctor told me to just soak it daily until then. I have Epsom salt which was what he recommended last time this happened, so I'll just stick with that because it doesn't smell as bad. =3
I hate that it was my own stupidity that caused me to have my first ingrown toenail, thus giving me the woes which followed. If I hadn't tried ripping out that sliver of toenail that broke away when I was trimming my nails, it never would have broken in half and given me my first ingrown nail.
Hindsight is twenty/twenty.
Ryona, how did you lose your fingernails?

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Oh, I fell and got ran over by an office chair. You know. LOL.
I was really little and playing at the neighbors house, pushing each other in office chairs down the driveway (lived on a cul-de-sac so no worries about traffic). I fell off the chair and I guess the girl kept pushing it or something, but it ran over my fingers and pulled off three nails. I have scars running down almost to my knuckle, where evidently the skin ripped off along with the nail. I hardly remember it now, but I have an extreme phobia involving losing the nail now (or perhaps it was always there; I'll never know). I especially can't stand when things get lodged under my nail, like splinters and glass and such.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
:: shudders :: Did the nails ever grow back?
I had my finger smashed by a piece of fire wood when I was ten, and the nail fell off eventually because of the bruising under it, but it didn't grow back right. Given, I have always had a horrible scab-picking problem, so I picked at the nail as it tried to regrow... Now it looks weird as if the nail has been slightly separated to almost halfway down on the left-most side.
I don't blame you for your fear. Any time I read a book or watch a movie where a form of torture by means of ripping off fingernails is used, I shudder a lot. The idea of it is just so... awful... I'm lucky I've never had that problem in reality. I'm sorry you had to go through it.

Yes they grew back, nice and normal! I'm very grateful. I hate nail torture...I can't even think about it!

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Well, Kalon, you're lucky because it's all in your head. My toe actually does hurt... just not the nail... I don't think nails themselves have nerve endings, just everything all around it. Right now, the side of my toe hurts.
Actually, it doesn't hurt right now, but it may start again if I walk around or something... I need to soak it... I'll do that now. That should keep it from hurting too much later today.

Was it a mutual breakup, or did she break up with you, or did you break up with her?
Either way, it's never a fun thing. Even when I was the one doing the breaking, I never felt good about it later. =\

Hi, guys!! I miss you all soooo much. <3 I think I better take this time I'm here to fill you all in, so I'll go back to my Notice thread rather than littering this fun place. xD

Well, with growth comes change, and you've missed a lot of growing.
I'm glad to hear you're doing well enough, Fate.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
This is both a celebration and a complain, so I figured I would just post it here in the middle.
I've decided that I want to go to grad school to get a Masters, and maybe someday a Ph.D. The problem with this idea is that my current school doesn't offer an MA, which means I need to find a different school. I thought, "hey, ASU should offer it! And I really liked that school." But no...they aren't accepting applications for that degree at the moment. So I'm going to have to search different schools, probably exclusively in California. It will depend on me getting accepted, the chances of finding a job in the area, and the cost of housing there. So it has become so much more complicated than I originally expected.
I will probably end up taking a 1-2 year hiatus so that I can get all of this stuff figured out first. The good news is that one of my professors told me that if I need a letter of recommendation, then just ask him. Which is awesome, because he is a rather high-standing individual in his field with a lot of professional experience. And he likes me
I'm sure of another professor who can give me an awesome LOR as well. Hopefully I can get it figured out though...

Melancholy's Thought of the Moment:
"Why do horror movies always have creepy male villains instead of psycho-pathetic femmes? I pondered this until I realized it is because they’d be losing money. Why? Quite simple: no girl is going to be happy when she sees her boyfriend smiling like an idiot at the crazy eyed women covered in entrails… take into consideration the trouble of just one couple seeing this. Now think of a movie theater filled with couples… now is when the real horror begins.
Hey, I just got an idea for a movie!"
*Note: Do not take this seriously…

That's not always true. Megan Fox starred as the main baddie in a horror movie not terribly long ago.

I wasn't taking it too seriously. It made me smile. I just thought I should mention the only horror movie of which I'm aware that has a female villain. ^o_~^
