Kvatch is a neutral nation that doesn't care of the alignment of other countries, especially if they are willing to establish trade routes and diplomatic relations. The Khajiiti will avoid going to war unless the outcome of which will directly effect them.
Kvatch would be willing to ally themselves with you as long as you don't work your mind magic on them. Just don't expect them to join you in a direct conflict unless it is in their best interests to do so. Although, it might be handy to have a nation of capable assassins on your side if you've got deep enough pockets.

Obviously, my pirates would be down for some evil doing, if the booty is right ;P. I don't imagine them being used for mercenaries/soldiers on the front lines, but they are willing to perform just about any dirty deed. A lot like Loki's assassins, but less subtle and more of an eff-you-in-your-face attitude about things.
@Dax, still need to PM you back... Will do shortly!

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Sorry for my extended absence. It is hard to find time to get on the computer when Ryona needs it for homework, and my own computer is still capoot...
I'm going to start working on updating the information thread right away.
As far as Raptorman's question, my culture wouldn't align themselves with Morgorath in any way. They pride themselves on heroic actions, which is why their major mercenary group is known as the Guild of Hero's. It just wouldn't fit with their outlook on things. So I don't think Morgorath would be able to hire any of them.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Ok, just about everything is posted in the info thread. I couldn't update Blackrock's character sheet because that CS post is too lengthy. I need to split them up again. As soon as I do that, I will update the Character Sheet. Everyone else has, I believe, their sheet posted there.
I also didn't put in Raptorman's information on the species that inhabit the Mountains of Night because that is, if I recall correctly, going in the expansive Pantheon being organzied by Dax (correct?).
The History and Lore section needs to be revamped as well. Everything is in there (hopefully), but its organization definitely needs some work. So that is what I will be working on next.
Please, please, please let me know if I left anything out. I scanned the previous four pages for any updates, and I think I found everything. But if I left anything out, please let me know so I can get it in there.
Edit: I may go through the character sheets and take out the information on World-spaces. It will save room in the character sheet posts, and it will make the Geography section more expansive, and the information easier to find. If anyone has a problem with this, let me know. I will still put it up in the Geography section, but I will also leave it in your character sheet.

I actually wondered by the world-space continued to be in the character sheets when it should be in the geography section anyway, so I'm really glad that you're moving it.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Ok, here is the deal:
To allow everyone the freedom to edit their character sheets whenever they choose, we are going to allow everyone to post once in the Emoria: Information thread. This one post will be your personal character slot, which will be linked in the character sheet post above.
There is no need for alphebetical posting order, since we will be linking them in alphabetical order via the character sheet post. So whenever you like, please post your entire character sheet in the information thread.
For now, leave your world space in the character sheet so we do not lose it. Once it has been copied over to the geography section, you may delete your world space description from your character sheet.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Yayy!! ^^ Thinks are chugging along. I should have my net back soonish, which means I'll be better able to complete portraits and things. (because I use the internet as a stock resource, and I have limited space on my flash drive. )
For now, here's what I've been working on for the Thendári as a race.
I'll be editing this post a few times today, since I"m still working on it at the library.
Thendári
. : Thendári Characteristics : .
Thendári are a class of elf. Most are of moderate height, slight build, and high intelligence. Unlike most elves, Thendári are immortal. Thendári elves are fair-skinned and golden-haired, with eye colors ranging through different shades of either blue or green. Thendári hair color changes over the course of each elf's life, going through a slow cycle of white, golden, black, golden, and back to white every 169 years. This is a side effect of three combining forces: proximity to the Spirit Plane, atmosphere of the Light Plane during infrequent visits, and the Thendári curse of immortality.
The stereotypical Thendári is highly legalistic, moderately opinionated, and curious to a fault. One could never accuse a Thendári, however, of hypocrisy. They just as hard on themselves as they are on others, if not more so. Common among their patterns of behavior is a mind-bending persona of arrogant humility. Thendári are self-disciplined. In addition, being immortal, they are naturally predisposed to philosophy.
. : Thendári Culture : .
One would think that, because of the Rift, the thendári culture would revolve around the Spirit Plane. In a way this is true, since the responsibility of the Rift is always in the back of each elf's mind. Nevertheless, it is not the Spirit Plane but the Light Plane around which the Thendári order their lives. While many Thendári now worship Sanctus Unus, the Vatiennien God, their allegiance is to Alos, Lord of Light. The ruler of the Light Plane, Alos has played a central role throughout thendári history.
The Light Plane is centered around creativity, so art, music and other forms of expression are prominent in thendári culture. Singing is less common than playing musical instruments--typically flutes or pipes, though many enjoy the bold sound of horns or trumpets crafted of silver. Most everyone plays at least one instrument. Many are artistically talented, especially in woodcuts, paintings, murals and silken tapestries. Sculptures are less common, with the popular exception of small woodcarvings.
Despite living in the forest, Thendári are nearly always well-dressed in fine materials. Most garments are embroidered in some way, near the hems and borders if nowhere else. Creative use of interlocking shapes or emblems are popular, as well as a focus on star-burst patterns. Long-sleeved tunics are the most representative and common of thendári garments.
. : Thendári Customs : .
Thendári males do not wear their hair long, as do many of their elven kin. Instead, they crop it short at the nape of the neck. Thendári females, by contrast, wear their hair long and unbraided. The length of their hair commonly extends to the lower thigh, and often further. If they tie their hair back to keep it together--a common necessity inside dense woods, and mandatory among female warriors--they will normally use metal clasps of varying design.
I'll update this as I add more stuff. Silvone or Ryona can add this somewhere, if they want, or I can have it as a section in my character sheet, or both. However is fine. I'm not sure how often you want to bother with updates....?

Is anybody working on a bestiary or some other catalog of plants or animals of note for Emoria?

It is supposed to be Silvone working on species, but he's been rather busy of late, so if anyone wants to volunteer he would gladly hand it over.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Here is a write-up for the elementals for whoever is doing the bestiary:
Elementals
Elementals come in four types: Fire, Water, Air and Earth. They are the embodiment of the elements and can be found on their respective planes. Fire elementals appear as beings of pure flame or burning coals. Water elementals appear as beings of spiraling water or a foggy mist. Air elementals appear as beings like wind tornadoes or storm clouds. Earth elementals appear as mud-stone beings or plant-like creatures. Elementals are classified as lesser, greater or elder by power.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
In reguards to the notable beasties, I'm making a few for the rain forest of the southern continent and helping Plague make some for the marshlands. I don't know about making beasties for the whole of Emoria, but I can handle the southern continent. That should help take some of the pressure off of Silvone.
Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I'll PM you with some of the beasties that I had come up with for Kvatch in a few days.

Been a busy week for me, as such I've had little time to write; but I'll update my character sheet some time soon - mostly about religion and Arbians' physical features.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Okay. I'm going to post my sheet there soon.
First, I wanted to say something concerning the inability to use a number pad when using something like a laptop that doesn't have one.
If you have an "Fn" key, you may hold that down, and it will transform the keys in the "7, 8, 9, 0" area into a number pad. While I haven't been able to figure it out for myself, Raptorman seems to have had success when I told him about it.
I hope others are able to have similar success.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I know how to do that, but the problem arises when I want to use both letters and number pad at the same time. So I usually don't bother because it's a pain.
I've updated everyone who has posted their character sheet. After everyone has done so, the information thread is going to get reworked so it has a nicer appeal. Worldspaces will be grouped by continent and placed in geography, and eventually the pantheon and species list will go up in the history and lore section.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Hello, everyone! This is me, reporting in from the lovely country many call home. If not, then too bad. But, that is not the reasoning for my little report here.
I forgot my flashdrive back home...so, I'm kinda pooched on the whole character creation and species work stuffins. I'll do what I can, butdon't expect a ton until I'm back home. Which will be on the 25th, so...
Best of luck everyone. I'll bust my butt to get everything done ASAP.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I've rearranged most of the information thread, so it is more compact and better looking
We've decided to name the northern continent Talonia, based off of Sighlents name for the Talonian Ocean.
Those from the southern continent can feel free to come up with a name for theirs, and if the northern continents name is in debate we can always change it.
Just another reminder: if your character sheet is done (or even if it isn't really) please post it up in the info thread so we can at least link your name to your post.

I promise that we will get working on species soon. This week should be less hectic than last.

I'm liking it, makes it much easier to look over other nations and the like.
I have pretty much finished with all the information regarding Kvatch and the Khajiiti. All that is left is touch ups and adding a few more details. All of that information can be found in my archive, though I have included links at the bottom of my character sheet for the sake of convenience.

Has anyone ever taken a look at a program called AutoREALM? it's pretty much a country sculptor, if there's anything else that still needs modeling or if we need a geographical map. I've been using it mostly for D&D, but I think it would probably work pretty well for this too.
