Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
That's awesome, you two! I'm getting closer and closer to my twentieth. I totally started lagging in my progress ((and in updating the first post - SORRY!)) for a while, but I'm hoping to get more involved in this challenge and to meet my goal.
I hope all of you are able to meet it, too. ^^_^^

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
@Lara: Did you read the New Jedi Order? Or did you start with the Killik trilogy? If not, you should definitely read it. My favorite series so far.

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
I've read pretty much every Star Wars book except for the ones set in Clone Wars time. =)
My favorite book of the New Jedi Order is Balance Point. I loved Recovery as well, but for some reason I can't fathom it's only an e-book. >.> Part of me wants to say it's in the back of another book, too, but I'm not sure...

Balance Point was good, but my favorite was Star By Star. And Vector Prime. I honestly cried when
I loved Star by Star because of the character development and interactions. It set up so much for the future of the characters, its unbelievable. Unfortunately, I started Star Wars at NJO, and I've only read a few books centered just before and after the original movies. I haven't even read the original trilogy, which I'm ashamed to admit....
- Spoiler:
Chewbacca and Anakin died, as both were my all-time favorite characters. I was also really angry that they killed Anakin.

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
Hello! I'd love to take part in this, although I 'officially' began this challenge on Tuesday, June 1st. I've got a list of books I intend to read, but I'll just leave this one blank until I've begun them or have them finished.
If I happen to reach my goal, I'll probably just increase it in increments of ten (Or something) until this time next year. I can't seem to decide if it's likely that'll happen or not though. I spend a massive amount of my summer vacations reading but, at the same time, I don't have very much patience. If a book doesn't grab me from the get-go and keep me completely hooked, I'll just abandon it. That and my low tolerance for older, slow paced, 'english-speaky' books are two things I might try to improve on throughout this.
Anyway, thanks so much for this awesome idea! I'll get started right away.

Welcome to the Challenge, LittleSun1 and Lumeus!
I've added you both to the first post!
Lumeus and Sighlent, may I ask you to add your progress somewhere to your post? What I mean is just having it say somewhere how many books you've read. It makes it a lot easier on me for when I update people's progress in the first post.
Thanks in advance. ^^_^^

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
So I shut my laptop down and told myself to go to bed around 2, and yet here I am at 3, having just finished reading my eleventh book. =) A good trade-off, I'd say.
I'm torn between continuing to read my other Star Wars book and starting Brother to Dragons, Companion to Owls. I suppose I'll make my decision the next time I go to pick up a book, which will likely be some point tomorrow.

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
For curiosity's sake I checked out about how long the average book I've read so far during this challenge is. It's just under 300 pages until I finish the book I'll start today, then it'll be just over (289 becomes 310).
Just thought it would be fun to check. Most books are either 80-100 or 400-700 though.
How is it for you guys?
EDIT:: I updated my list now too, up to 17 books read.

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
I have to finish updating my post but I know I have gotten 6 more books done since I last did. At least I think 5 of them count. I will have to check the first post to be sure but I didn't forget. I will get an update in soon. Well as soon as I find my post.
Edit: Well, its all fixed up now. Had to change a lot of things on there because there were books I didn't finish for the semester and I don't want to finish them. Plus I did some reading of stuff not on the list so I had to add it.

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
Finished book 12. Not thrilled with the ending at all; I couldn't see how they could possibly finish the plot in the amount of pages left to the book, and in the end, it felt incredibly rushed. I even scoffed in disgust a few times. But...I suppose it doesn't matter, because I get the feeling it was a filler book. At the least, it didn't bring anything to the series overall except for character development.
Will need to decide what to read next, but it's probably going to be the one I've mentioned wanting to read soon.
Edit: To answer your question, Dagger, the shortest book I've completed so far was 250 pages, and the longest was 544. The majority of my books have fallen between 300 and 400 pages, with a few above 500.

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
I'm so behind...I need to start reading again. Good job everyone!
I think my average book length is 300-ish pages, but I've got a couple coming up that are quite a bit longer!
Also, some of the books don't count prolouges (usually quite lengthy ones too) so many of them I'm minus 20 pages or so.

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
My average, for the books I've currently completed, is 366 pages.
I'm trying to pick up my reading pace, but it is hard when I don't really care for the book I'm trying to read.

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
I finished lucky number 13~.
So anyone who hasn't (which pretty much means everyone, I'm guessing) should read Brother to Dragons, Companion to Owls. I adore the book so much it isn't even funny (though it turns out my mind came up with an ending of its own for the book).

Re: 50 Book Challenge!!!
Wooohooo! 25 books for the win. Read in about 2,5 months (I counted one month as 30 days), or 76 days. Aye I counted, lol. So I might be able to do the hundred book challenge, aka read 100 instead of 50 in a year, since I managed 25 in less than three months.
