Name That Book!
Lets start with rules.
11) NO GOOGLING! Please. That just ruins the fun.
2) 3 guesses per person and then can't guess again until a new quote/passage is put up.
3) Have fun!
4) if no one gets it after 4 posts, post what it is.
I'll start this little game.
Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me. - What book is this from?

Re: Name That Book!
I have no idea. Can we have a hint?
Also, can I post something for people to guess while they guess yours?
I guess I'll just do it anyway.

That quote is from New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. Ugh, I can't believe that I remember that. I used to love the Twilight Saga back when it was new and semi-unpopular. Now, the very thought of it and the obsessive tweens gives me a migraine. No offense to anyone who loves it though.
Here is my quote:
"A day is like a whole life. You start out doing one thing, but end up doing something else, plan to run an errand, but never get there... Your whole life has the same shape as a single day."
Re: Name That Book!
Nobody knows the quote I put up? ^_^
Want a hint?
I have no idea what yours is, Harpie (can I call you Harpie?)

Re: Name That Book!
You know, your quote sounds really familiar! Yes, could we get a hint, please?
And yes, you may call me Harpie. Haha.

Re: Name That Book!
I'll expand the quote. ^_^

Well, duh! I feel dumb now! Lord of the Rings: Return of the King? That's only one of my all-time favorite books. *Kicks self.* But funny how that little extra instantly reminded me!

Urgh, this one is really familiar but I can't recall from what exactly... I think I even recall the author. Shot in the dark time: is it from Sphere by Michael Crichton?

Re: Name That Book!
Does that mean we're guessing a line from a movie, or does it mean the book was made into a movie? Or both?
Re: Name That Book!
Oh, sorry. It was made into a movie. I'm not sure if the line is in it; I haven't seen the movie in years.
Re: Name That Book!
Oh, well, that narrows it down three of his books I've read that are also movies. Looks like I might win.
Is it Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton?

Re: Name That Book!
Yes! I knew that might give it away, but figured he should know he got part of it right. :]
Re: Name That Book!
Oh wow, he wrote Jurassic Part? I'm surprised I didn't know that!
Well lessee here....
Yup, that's right, you don't get to see WHO is a very rare person. ^_^
I imagine this would be an easy one.

Re: Name That Book!
Here's another (maybe) obvious one. Bonus points if you can name the book AND the person who said it.
"Never forget who you are, for surely the world won’t. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you."

Re: Name That Book!
Wasn't it said by Tyrion Lannister in A Song of Ice and Fire written by George R. R. Martin?
Re: Name That Book!
Ehhhh, that's the series name, not the book, but I'll accept that as correct. It was in Game of Thrones, and yes it was Tyrion. You win.
Someone put up a new quote. I can't think of any good ones, haha.

Ah, right. Sorry about that.
Okay, this one is kind of long, but not too bad:
Okay, this one is kind of long, but not too bad:
"In each of us lie good and bad, light and dark, art and pain, choice and regret, cruelty and sacrifice. We're each of us our own chiaroscuro, our own bit of illusion fighting to emerge into something solid, something real. We've got to forgive ourselves that. I must remember to forgive myself. Because there's an awful lot of gray to work with. No one can live in the light all the time."
