Posted for T'yang. Commencing on Raewyn. Since T'yang's injured, she can watch over Raewyn while Loki can jump into combat somewhere.

Also, I wondered; if Tsume's soul is in Loki, does that mean Alco is also still alive?

Unfortunately not, it's less Tsume's soul and more of fragments of his life force. He secured enough of those shards to conjure the sword, but a summoned creature is far more complex and Loki doesn't have enough of the pieces that was Tsume to construct one.

on that subject though, I would like to state that his posting should not be the deciding factor over whether or not you tell us the possible story lines. He's stated that you, when he was prepping to be the big baddie in this RP, told him the potential story lines already.

With that in mind, I motion for FULL STORY LINE DISCLOSURE since the rest of us who have no clue have already posted (Twice in Digi's case)

No worries Digi, I will disclose in this thread so none of you miss out on it. I should have time during my lunch tomorrow to write up the outlines for the aforementioned story lines.

As promised, here are the story premises for follow-up campaigns.  Due to the surprise I have awaiting at the end of this campaign, I am intentionally vague and/or omitting anything that may give it away.

The Essence of the Fallen – Even before she reached her twentieth year, the Goddess Eraclea had been a looming menace as her desires for wealth and power becomes matched by her abilities to attain them.  Public speculation of the new Goddess was one of straining patience since it wasn’t uncommon for youthful Goddesses to act impulsively until they gain maturity through age and wisdom.  Still, there were a number of groups who formed in opposition to Eraclea believing that her actions were a sign of corruption rather than adolescent rebelliousness.

This intuition was validated when, at the age of twenty, she committed an atrocity on the scale that the world has never seen before.  On the year 141 BE, she committed genocide on the continental scale by plummeting all of Demora into the ocean’s depths and changed the world forever.  With that action, she instilled a fear so deep into the hearts of her ‘subjects’ that she forced all of Viemera into subservience.  None dared so much as to question her actions or authority openly.  Beneath the surface, however, the resistance only grew stronger as some of the most powerful Saturates Viemera had to offer banded together in a plot to destroy the corrupted Goddess before her tyranny can scar the world any further.

Essence of Extermination – Following the long awaited death of Eraclea, the people of Viemera rise up against any who are able to wield Essence.  Anybody who was suspected of being a Saturate were hunted down ruthlessly and given what could only be loosely considered a trial before being executed; assuming the mobs didn’t kill them outright upon witnessing the use of Essence.  Any baby girl born within a year of the Goddess’ demise were killed in an attempt to prevent another Goddess from coming to age.  It is an age of paranoia as people seek to scour the shadow of Eraclea from the land leaving Saturates to hide their talents or risk exposure and almost certain death.

Sprite Saga - Sprites are elemental spirits (earth, water, fire, wind, metal, and wood) that inhabit all aspects of Viemera.  Some are small and cannot be seen, and others are powerful enough to manifest when called upon by their wielders.  Viemeran people at the present day manifest personal Sprites in their early childhood or adolescent years, and control them with their minds. They are used to aid them in whatever task undertaken from housework to combat. This Sprite-based magic is accomplished in one of two forms. First, a Viemeran may draw from the strength of their Sprite to increase their own. For example, earth crafters often draw physical might from the ground, through their Sprites, to allow them to lift loads far too heavy for normal people, while wind crafters can increase their speed and metalcrafters their endurance. The second form of Sprite-crafting is to "manifest" a Sprite. This involves the sprite taking a visible form, often the shape of an animal, though taking the shape of a human is not unheard of. Manifested Sprites are necessary for the most powerful forms of Sprite-crafting, including flight (windcrafting) and healing (watercrafting). Most Viemerans display some type of rudimentary ability in all areas of Sprite-crafting, but are highly skilled in only one or two types. Though there are some bloodlines that show considerable talent in all areas of Sprite-crafting well beyond the capabilities of a typical person, indicating that heredity plays some role in Sprite-crafting.

Sprites of a New World – (Portion omitted until completion of Essence of Deceit).  This RP is still a rough concept for those who wish to continue to play their characters from Essence of Deceit.  It basically revolves around trying to pick up the pieces of a shattered civilization left in the wake of Udonis.

Sprites of Dominion – Viemera as we know it is divided among several nations who are striving for unification.  Whether through marching armies, diplomacy, or subterfuge, the ruling class of every nation want the constant border disputes to come to an end once and for all.  This campaign is still being ironed out, but I see it working something akin to what was attempted to Emoria.  I will give the players an option of playing individual nations and the individuals who serve them, letting a few people represent a single nation and the key characters under their banner, or simply have everybody play under a single nation and make characters who are the key players in making unification of Viemera possible.

Sprites of the Forgotten – As far back as reliable history can tell, Viemerans have harnessed the power of Sprites and used it to shape their civilization.  Nearly every innovation in present day incorporates the use of Sprites, whether wild ones that have been tamed for a specific purpose or advancements in the utilization of personal Sprites.   It is for this reason that the people are becoming uneasy about the increasing unpredictability of Sprites.  Those that exist in the wild are becoming increasingly powerful and hostile towards Viemerans.  Those that have been tamed seem to behave more chaotically as if becoming wild once more.  While personal Sprites are still obedient, Viemerans who are attuned with them on a personal level notice a certain unease under the surface much in the same way creatures instinctively seek higher ground immediately before a flood washes over the land.

Furthermore, there are rumors of Sprites the like of which have never been seen before both in appearance and in power.  So alien to the natural order of things, the public has begun referring to them as Revenants.  While descriptions of these Revenants vary significantly, they all hold a few elements in common: that they appear to be made of shadow rather than any of the traditional elements and that all other Sprites flee from their presence.  In an attempt to assuage the growing unease of the public, a reward has been promised for anybody who is able to bring indisputable proof of the existence of these Revenants.  More than that, academic groups have been sending out parties to investigate these Revenants to not only validate their existence, but to figure out whether they play a role in the growing problems of handling Sprites.

Seed of Revival – The modern society of Viemera looks very similar to Earth as we know it in present day in terms of technology and society.  Any knowledge of Sprites have fallen into books of lore rather than history.  Knowledge of Saturates and the Goddess don’t even have that and have long since been lost into the sands of time.  It is for this reason that a very small group of young adults could not possibly know that they are the first generation of Saturates that Viemera has seen in several thousands of years.  That is apart from one such individual who had happened across a tomb that was written in the time of The Great Cataclysm telling of that forgotten history.  Of course, that book is not the only thing that has endured all those millennia as Revenants once again become involved with Viemera’s fate, though their intentions are not yet known.

Of these ideas, I am most excited to play the Seed of Revival.  Particularly because it is a story that reveals so much of Viemera’s lore and answers the big question of what happened during The Great Cataclysm.  It also reveals the true identities of the Revenants along with their ambitions.   Furthermore, it reveals the purpose of one particular rendezvous that Raewyn had with a time traveler.

Hrms...there's alot to choose from here. I think my favorites are as so;

1 - Seed of Revival
2 - Essence of Extermination
3 - Sprites of the Forgotten

I'd least like Sprites of the Dominion because huge nation RPs really don't work for me.

While I like the idea of Revival, but I don't want to skip ahead several thousand years into the future. And I also do not like Prequels, even though these ones seem to be far enough back that we can basically do what we want, it's just a personal preference of mine.

I like the Sprite idea because it's something new, allowing us to flex our creative muscles once more in the character creation department. Sprites of a new world, however is something that i'm hesitantly placing in front of the prequels because I believe I'm getting to the point of being burnt out on Jake. He's been a great character to play, especially with his dual personalities, but I think it's time to move on.

Those are just my thoughts on the matter. YAY FOR LAWYERING PEOPLE INTO REVEALING STORY STUFF!

I SO approve of more Viemera awesomeness! Here's my order-of-desire wishlist:

1. Seed of Revival
2. Sprites of the Forgotten
3. Sprites of a New World
4. Essence of the Fallen
5. Essence of Extermination
6. Sprites of Dominion

I personally love the idea of sequels, but I'm probably a minority because I totally get the desire to play something new with a fresh character. I'm just a sentimental sap who gets overly attached to characters I picked Seed of Revival first because I would love to have the continuity with Essence of Deceit and see what role the time traveler plays.

The sprite ideas sound pretty cool, but I would like some more backstory on sprites in general. Do sprite users exist within the same time periods as Saturates? And if so, how come we haven't seen any mention of sprites in Essence of Deceit? Having that information would give me a better sense of continuity among the various story lines you've presented.

But in a nutshell, I'm totally down for more Viemera in whatever form we choose.

Sprites do not exist in the Essence saga nor technically in the Seed saga. Something happens in the end of the Essence of Deceit that brings them into existence: as for any further detail, we will need to finish this RP now won't we?

Alright, time to crank the epicness of this RP to 12!

I want to see plenty of collaboration and coordination with this final battle.  You've battled one another, battled by yourself, and now we're getting the entire party involved against two enemies that won't make it easy.  Vox (the summon) is a powerhouse to say the least.  He can take a hit and hit back even harder (even without his sword).  I highly recommend not taking him on alone.  Udonis has a small arsenal of abilities; force attacks as well as shielding, an incredibly sharp rapier that he is highly proficient with, of course the ability to regenerate, and even the wildcard of having the Power of the Goddess.  The latter can do just about anything, however he is not yet familiar with it (thankfully) so it is less reliable and more costly than his other abilities, but he can still use it should he need to.

Questions:

What is Vox made of? And how intelligent is it?

The vials of Essence the soldiers used as ammo, is it refined? Can it explode? Or can we use it to replenish our reserves?

Vox is made of flesh, but has a thick hide that is difficult to penetrate. As far as intelligence, he is as smart as the average person.

The ammo is refined, but not pure, thus toxic for saturates. It is somewhat explosive, but more as a minor fragmentation that only really does superficial damage/minor skin lacerations like it did for Marinik in our first encounter.

WOOHOO! EPIC FINAL BOSS BATTLE!

I'm not really sure if this is a very specific question, but I'm just thinking out loud. The group just survived the last battle by the skins of our teeth. We're all battered, bruised, and mostly out of Essence. How in the heck are we going to survive against Udonis and Vox when they're fresh and just made mincemeat out of two of the most experienced Temple monks?

Loki, I hope you have something up your sleeve to help us turn the tide...
