Re: King of Fighters: OOC
People will join when they find the interest to look into the RP. Most of this RP is going to be about characters training, getting stronger, etc. It's a lot about traveling Summerset as well. So there will be plenty of opportunities for people to join.
So you guys can post as soon as you guys get the chance.

That's cool. I don't really see that many people joining this RP, but I'm totally cool with that. Keeps things simple for a while.

Waiting of Skittle to post before I can. Let's try and keep fresh posts up on a regular basis. It's what rule 3 is all about.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
I've noticed something, not just in this RP but in my other one as well.
People tend to log on, not bother to even post in the RP(s) and then go do something else. Having stuff to do in real life is expected but backing on that as a constant excuse is pretty rude to me.
It has gotten so bad in Tales of Riv'nar that I see it dying in a few weeks. This RP just started. Lets try and keep things moving along.
Notice: Please observe Rule #3 again. I'm damn serious about this. Unless you say you are going to take an extra day or two to post, I'm going to expect you posting regularly. You submitted a profile and that is a contract with me expressing your commitment. There are always things to post about. All of us are creative. Let's use that creative brain all of us have and make our posts.

I am basically just waiting on posts. I can't actually keep on posting by myself right? anyways, I am observant of Rule #3. It's just that others tend to post longer than a regular basis so my posting activity is kinda hindered as well.

Sorry I haven't posted guys. I've been having some writer's block lately. I didn't plan on someone being gone for a week so soon in the RP. But since Skittles won't be back until this weekend, let's try and keep our heads high and posts being put up.
I'll try and get something up later tonight. Yuina and Eternity, keep posting without me. I'll have something to put up at some point in time. Just have this damn writer's block.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
I'm wondering where Skittles_Overlord is. I do want to allow her to catch up with everything that's in the RP. She should be getting back from her vacation today or this weekend. I'm assuming it was a Thanksgiving vacation with relatives. So hopefully we can be graced with a post from her this weekend at least.
I already have an idea of what I'll post about, I just don't want to overwhelm her with a bunch of posts and make it harder to catch up in the RP. So, I guess this is a good reason to break the posting rule.
You guys can continue to post and all that, cause mine will consist of taking up a lot of time in the RP. At least it will span over a lot of time, like 30-45 minutes into his training for the afternoon.
EDIT: I might not post in the next day or two.. maybe three. Found out that my uncle died a couple days ago and I'm going to take time dealing with it.
He was a very important person to me in my life.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
Removed the 3 day time frame rule about posting each week. I found that it was proving to be a rather impossible rule to accomplish with such a slow paced RP. I find that it was better to make it with no needed time frame for posting. It gives everyone way more freedom to post and think through their writing. Consider it a move towards making the RP a little more causal but still Advanced.
I'm doing this personally because I have this Gladiator RP that I want to join and because I have a RP RPG story I'm working on as well. This puts me at 5 RPs total, but I'm cool with that. I believe I can support all this if I commit myself to posting regularly when the time is needed. So I decided to make it benefit everyone and not just myself.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
There's a character template that everyone has used so far. Check the RP thread out for that. Might help clarify how much information I actually want you to give me for a character profile.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
I saw the template, and did not like it. That's why I used this one. But, since you obviously want a template that scrimps on the details, I'll give you one.
Character Name: Ryukyu Taizan
Age: 13
Hair: Short and light brown
Eyes: light brown
Height: 5'6
Build: lean, but muscular
Character: Taizan is very dedicated to the martial arts and to the memory of his parents. He believes that he can only honor them by becoming a great martial artist. Because of this, he pushes himself to the breaking point whenever he can, and carries multiple scars on his body. He is a very determined individual, and is nearly fearless.
Fighting Style:
Dragon Fist Style: Taizan is trained in the Dragon Fist Style, which has been passed down in his family for generations. Using striking, grappling, shooting, joint locking and even a bit of street fighting, the Dragon Fist Style allows Taizan to hold his own against street punk and disciplined martial artist alike.

Uh... There are only 4 fighting styles in this RP. I thought all this was explained to you in the interest check thread? The style you described is a lot like Dragon Fist style.
Guest- Guest
Re: King of Fighters: OOC
Well, I thought all of the styles would be detailed here. This is where they should be, so people coming in know what to choose from. I'll change it to Dragon Fist style.

I always expect people that are interested in my RP to check the RP thread first. I guess not everyone else shares that opinion.
EDIT: Go ahead and post now.. I'll throw your profile up with the rest of them.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
I always check the OOC first. I figured all of the relevant material would be moved to the OOC [where it belongs ]. I'll be posting soon. In the meantime, stop being condescending towards me. All I've met since I came to this site is elitist people, and I really have no patience for elitism.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
I guess I'm use to doing the opposite. I'll have to try the opposite with my next RP! Might work out better that way and I'm always looking for better ways to host RPs.
I have no idea what you're talking about with elitist people on this website. I'm not trying to be one. Sorry if I came off as that cause it wasn't my intention. Just not sure what you mean by elitist people. I probably can't tell cause I'm not involved with that many RPs or threads for that matter.
I will strive to do better True Grave! Don't hesitate in speaking the truth with me on anything!
Now, welcome to the RP and lets expand on the story I've got in motion! Looking forward to RPing with you too!

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
Well, where I hail from, all the stuff you put in the IC as an introduction would go in the OOC. This is why I missed all of it. To me, it's a better way to do it, but if you prefer your method, don't change it. Just make sure to put a note that the introductory stuff is in the IC.
By elitist I mean, "We've been roleplaying for longer and are way more skilled than you, so either get with the program or don't waste my time."
So, by defining it, you can see how ugly this attitude is, especially to those like me, who are relatively new to this site and to roleplaying. Well, you kind of acted like it, but as long as you did not mean to be that way, then we're cool.
All right, then. It's just that elitism really bothers me, probably because I'm used to being looked down on because I'm poor and a nerd.
I'm definitely in, and will be dedicated to the end. Just make sure you don't get too crazy with the playable character vs. playable character battles. I'm not too good at that kind of thing. In short, I'm asking you to go a bit easy on me.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
I know what it means to be treated like garbage. So don't worry to much about that from me. If I want to insult you, you will know cause I make it very obvious. I've learned that it's often hard to figure out if someone is kidding or being serious by reading what they posted up. So I generally take what someone says with a grain of salt and move on. No sense in caring about something someone says if you have no clue if you're to take it seriously or not. That I think breeds a lot of that elitist appearance on message boards. I try to follow one simple rule on these kind of communities: be cool. Everyone knows what that means.
As for PvP, I haven't done this for a number of years myself so I'm not exactly sure how it will work out just yet. It is something all of us can slowly build our skills of cause at some point in time we will have our characters spar, train, etc. together.
For now, I'm going to go read your post that is probably kick ass!!
EDIT: Err, I guess you missed the posting format to use. Could you please put it in your post? It's rather important since I'm testing the idea out right now.

Do you mean to put the Character Skeleton for my character in my first post? If that's it, then I did not miss it, I just thought you took care of it. If you mean something else, then I probably did miss it.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
I meant the stuff at the top of the post. I believe I put it in the rule section in the RP thread.
*goes to check*
Yeah, it's rule 7. It's an idea I wanted to try out in this RP since I've seen other people use the idea. I just wanted to see if it was a good concept to adopt for mine.
It's purpose is to help others gain a higher grasp of where everyone is, time of day, their location, etc. I just thought it would be a useful idea. Haven't found a reason not to use it yet.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
All right, but before I do that, I need two things. Taizan has arrived at the place everybody else is, but what's the official name of the town, village, or city that this all takes place in? Also, we all agree that it is day right? I'd set it at early afternoon, but would that throw off anybody?

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
The official name of the city is Silverwood. There is a map in the RP Thread. Err, sorry that the entire RP is setup so differently than what you're use to. Practically everything you need to know or look at is in the RP thread.
I thought you read all the other posts. With the little format before everyone's posts tells you what time of day it is. Currently it's late afternoon in the RP. Silverwood has many things in it. The city's dojo is near the beach coast line (where my character is).
Oh well, not really that big of a problem. Not much has actually happened in the RP. It's still a fairly new RP.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
Well, no, I was still operating under the assumption that all of the information was in the OOC. It's all right, as long as you're willing to accomodate me when I have to ask questions.
All right, then. I'll add what you've asked to my post, then wait for someone to kick it back into play. I do have one more favor to ask, though. Whenever I'm not online, I would really appreciate if the other members of the roleplay would not post too much. I really don't want to get back on and see that the day has passed and a whole bunch of stuff has happened. I know this is a rather slow-moving RP, but people can still be thrown off.

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
When you say post too much you mean like 15 posts thrown up in a single day or something like that, right? Cause that won't ever happen. At most, people won't post more than once in the RP in a single day. I don't think it's everyone's ambition to spend day to day posting several times in an RP. It's one thing I myself hate. I'm not really pushing for a fast RP with this one. I don't want it to become so slow that there are no posts at all (I'll simply stop posting myself when that happens).
I wouldn't worry about everyone putting up to many posts during each day. I don't like it so it isn't like it will happen anyways. You aren't asking for that much anyways.
Anything else?

Re: King of Fighters: OOC
Well, yeah, like that. I tend to spend too much time on posts to be that exhorbitant with it. Other than that, no. All I can really ask for at this point is a fun and intellectually stimulating roleplay to get my FOG career going.
Also, if you're having a bit of trouble with story, I can help. I'm a part time Development Planner for some roleplays and can at least act as a wall for you to bounce ideas off of.
