Orly.
Well, me and kalons countries aren't very different, other than the thendari live forever and have suits of armor. (I am generalizing, but you get my drift) Not sure what arguement in particular you are talking about, but I see your point.
Thing is, there isn't any. Alos isn't the god of good, the plane of light isn't the 'end-all goodness', as you put it, and the Sanctus Unus, well... probably doesn't even exist.
So, you can conclude that in us being neither, we both indeed are.
Besides, what problem is there in that?

Re: Emoria: OOC
They're not everywhere. It's my understanding that they are probably a race that has the smallest population of any other race in existence because of their difficulties in breeding. However, they are nomadic, so they would be well traveled, and it's likely that they've been spotted at least once in any given country.
Of course, how well known they are as far as being spotted is up for Raptorman to decide.

Re: Emoria: OOC
It doesn't say they're nomadic. In fact, it says the opposite. "Reclusive," is the word. That made me think they were all hiding out in the M.o.N.
Re: Emoria: OOC
One can be nomadic, traveling all over the world, while still keeping to themselves. I think that is what Raptor had in mind, for all the times I have spoken with him about this subject, he's made it clear that the Sythen are travelers.

Ahh, ok then. So... we might want to add more info about them in the Emoria: Information topic.
I'll see what I can do about editing my post.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Okay, so I know this is entirely belated, but I have been incredibly busy, and I have only now been able to actually read through the posts.
I know this was quite a while ago, but I was reading a post, and it read as if Quendi are the only race to inhabit Nolwë Osto. This is not true. In fact, Nolwë Osto contains inhabitants from all over the world. There are Quendi and Humans and whatever other nations have differing races. There are even a few Sythen within the city.
Just thought I should clarify.

I tried to make it evident in my post that Nilus didn't recognize the Sythen. As well traveled as the Ayre may be, Nilus is still young and spent the last two years near Idona doing services directly under king Arrington.
As far as accusations go, I'm with Silvone on this one. I wanted to step in during Jean's outburst with Saint, but was unable to make a post at the time. Nilus' thoughts don't necessarily reflect the views of all Ayrens, and will likely come to the defense of Asmodeus if an argument breaks out.

As a peacekeeper and head of the Council, Saila will also defend any attacks against the Sythen. The creatures are a bit creepy to her, but they have never presented any reason for her to suspect them of ill intent, so she is neutral toward them.
Edit:
Also, naturally with the Quendi being nature lovers, there are trees and flowers and bushes and things that are in fact green and alive throughout the city. The Quendi wouldn't have constructed something that had nothing natural to it.

Re: Emoria: OOC
There really really really should be more info on the Sythen.
If all there is is that tiny paragraph in the Info thread, then there's a LOT that Raptorman isn't telling us, and yet he wants us to adhere to it. I don't see nomadic anywhere in the Info thread, which is where it ought to be, so please direct me to the spot if I'm missing it.
Where do these Sythen live?
What's their economy like?
How do they relate to the rest of the people?
Do countries just LET them wander around on their land?
Where do they come from?
How many are there? If they are so few, why are they at the council in the first place?
If they are so reclusive, why are there any in Nolwë Osto?
Is there any Sythen literature or history in the Great Library?
What are Sythen abilities? How long to they live?
Apparently they have some trouble reproducing?
I hope this helps Raptorman see where people got the wrong idea.
All we have to go on are that tiny paragraph, the character icon, and the post -- featuring Morgarath, apparently known to the Sythen as the "Darkfather", most prominently. Since I can find nothing of where the Sythen actually come from, it's a logical deduction to assume they're part of the Mountains of Night.
So yeah, no, I'm not going to edit right now. I might delete the whole post instead, so just disregard it until further notice. I would like more official details on the Sythen. You can't just bring all this stuff to the table retroactively.

Re: Emoria: OOC
We are supposed to not know about them, Kalon...So any questions that you personally want answered should be asked directly to Raptorman via PM. I personally would rather them stay mysterious to the rest of us who don't mind not knowing, which is why I suggest PMing.
I know you prefer to have all the details out on the table, so I understand why you want these questions answered. But I like the mysteriousness, it adds to the story. It gives us less to work on, for sure, but we do have a lot to work with already.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Yes, I'm aware that there are both growing things and other races in the city Kathryn.
But to Tusohe, who comes from a lush rain forest, the city is very un-natural and even the green and growing stuff there doesn't match up to what she thinks. As far as the other races, she lumps everyone who isn't an I'nak or a Tynir or a Khajiiti under the category of Pale-skin. And, as there are no Tynir or I'nak living in Nolwe Osto, its a city of Pale-skins to her.
Just thought that I'd make it known that those were my character's opinions, not that I was ignorant of the city.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Well, as far as races go, my main concern was with Plague's post because he consistently called them Quendi. I figured that from his character who seems a little more worldly, he should be able to distinguish between Quendi, humans, and other races who don't fit with either of those two.
I understand that those were opinions of hers, but I wasn't sure if it was just the character or if it was a misconception on your part, so I thought I'd say something just in case.

Who is the Sythen, Asmodeus, representing at the meeting? Or is that a surprise that we will find out at the meeting?

In that case, my posts stands, unless Raptorman can tell me specifically what he would like me to edit. My post came first, therefore it has precedence in continuity. I don't mind changing it, but he'll have to give me a good reason. Via PM if he'd prefer.
"Because he has plans" is not a good reason. You can't demand someone to edit if it doesn't contradict any official source. At that point, it's the other person's post that is more official than the first person's ideas. (Though there is a certain amount of flexibility required, especially when dealing with another person's race or country, which is why I don't necessarily mind editing.)
I'm starting to ramble now, so there it is. I'm open to alternate points of view.
Still waiting on Raptorman.
Edit:
Raptorman just sent me a PM.
All should soon be resolved.
Edit Edit:
Good question, Hermes.

Re: Emoria: OOC
I certainly hope so, because I am becoming impatient with member's inability to give in with certain situations. Perhaps that is due to my more fluid personality, but at the moment I am less patient and VERY tired of this idea that you guys refuse compromise by throwing out some rule or quoting some past post. You must understand how irritating this is from a GM's point of view, as well as from the view of a person who lives to serve other people's wants and needs before her own.
I'm not trying to accuse and attack, I'm trying to be honest with you guys and let you know that these reoccuring situations are driving me away.

Just so people know it is really late her so If I make no sense bear with me.
I had more information on the Sythen posted then ended up in the info thread, I do not know how that happened but it did. Now what I am saying is that ryona is right on this one as is kathryn and I am tired of people trying to make me change my established race that was approved months ago.

I do hope we are not being too much of a bother, Ryona. You and Silvone have done a great job at GMing this role-play.
Also, Raptorman, if you have information that wasn't posted, ask for it to be posted. That way, we don't have to guess about what your characters can do and what their boundaries are. I think people are questioning because they just don't have enough information.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Hermes has it right. My post assumed too much, but that's only because the information wasn't there to make an official call.
Things like this shouldn't be points of conflict.
We're all united in a common goal, Ryona, so no worries. I'm sure we're all committed to working together to preserve continuity as well as develop our own ideas and the story at large.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Alright, so now that the council has started (yay!), we all know how its going to proceed. The only thing I would like to know is who starts? Anyone just goes? I think that was part of the plan, right?
Also, when someone explains who got kidnapped, etc., do we discuss about it, or do we move on immediately?

Re: Emoria: OOC
I think anyone is permitted to begin. I determined not to have Saila go right away, for she is the host, so it seems almost rude to start first.
I deliberately left out how it would be done because I wasn't sure what would be best. I kind of feel like it would be more efficient for each nation to describe their plight before the true discussion of it all occurs.

Re: Emoria: OOC
So now we get to do the thing where we all have Saila call on us?
I suppose so. We could do a 'roll-call' of sorts. That way we can have everyone speak up before debates start.
Edit: If we aren't doing the 'call-thing', how should we go about it?

Re: Emoria: OOC
I think the best thing would be to announce our attentions here in the OOC. Like, for example: "I'm going to post now," so no one posts over yours and forces you to rewrite a post.
Then, once said person goes, the next person who wants to go can announce it.
It is simple enough without having complex role-call systems. Some people might want to wait to speak until certain information has been presented.
I can go first, if no one else wants to, but I might not be able to post for a couple of hours. My son is having a fit (about 3-5/day), and we might be going out to eat. So we'll see...

I can really post whenever. So I suppose I will wait if anyone wants to get their information out there first. My information really isn't dependent on anyone else's (at least, I don't think it is).
