Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I would like to see the map so I can pick out my location because I need a specific sort of spot.

Ok, here is the map we are working with.
map
Blue X is SIlvone's proposed location
Purple X is Ryona's proposed location
Please describe or mark where you would like your location to be. Don't make it too big, we have 12 people to fit on here. If there is not enough room, the map does extend eastward, but we were not going to use that part as of yet.
Keep in mind that none of this is set in stone, not until all twelve of us have claimed land space.

Needless to say, the green X is a suggestion for my placement. Tell me if its fine or not.

I'd like to propose taking the mainland area in the circle, but I'll have to wait for Kalon before anything is made final.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Is it alright if Gunneh and I have the island? =)
Maybe if we get Weiss to join, he can be there too. ^^
A large island like that would suit our purposes splendidly.

O.o
Kalon, Gunneh, now you have poked my interest as to what you guys are concocting back there.

Does anyone mind if I steal a part of the south?

So far, everything is good guys. Kalon, unless someone else would like to have part of the island, you are welcome to have it for yourself. We are still waiting on a few people, but it looks as though we will have enough room for everyone.
Eventually, I will make a beautiful map with area names, mountains, rivers, etc. But not for a while yet

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Ok so I know this is kind of asking a lot but could you guys PLEASE slow down?! I mean I was on hardly 24 hours ago and already this thing is 3 pages long! It's just a lot to read right now and I'm really trying to keep up by finding it extremely difficult.
Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I have claimed my land, he who dares to cross said line shall suffer the edge of my wicked sharp spear!!! XD
Kidding of course.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Yeah. I'm seriously with Sighlent on the whole slowing down thing. I think it would have been a better idea to wait until other people had finished at least imagining their lands. I've had to work ridiculous shifts as of late, and I've been having trouble with my computer, so it hasn't exactly allowed me to have the ability to really work on this.
Anyway, if this is really first-come-first-serve with this map ((which sucks by the way because not everyone has even decided on how they want their little area to be)), then I want something somewhere in the middle of it all.
I'm thinking the northern continent ((sort of like the North America to the South America)), and I want it to be somewhere right between Silvone/Ryona's areas and Sighlent's.
Now I really have to do some rethinking with how I want my little Elvish country and Knowledge City to be.

Actually I may need to move my area if people don't put theirs in the right spots in relation to it.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Mine might change as well, as I saw the map up, and kinda paniced a little to get a chunk of land. I will probably keep it where it is, but I suppose we'll need to see what happens.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
The whole point is that this is not set in stone, but so far everyone seems to have a nice location of land...Even Kathryn, with 7 people ahead of her, got a location of choice. If we need to switch it around, we can do so, but we don't want to spend too long working on this.
I completely understand about having limited time, I just got a new puppy, have crappy school hours, and have a comp down with a virus. I really don't pop in this thing all that often...but honestly, I'm not going to ask people to slow down because things like that kill a thread. I'm not going to force someone to slow down on their creative juices. Sigh, Kathryn, I hope you understand why I feel this way. To make things easier on you, it really isn't necessary to read the entire ooc. All information will be put in the first few posts over time. If somebody misses something vital, I will PM them about it.
We may have to tailor our own ideas to fit into the grand scheme, but that is to be expected. I put the map up because some people felt that they needed it in order to hone their ideas, which is understandable. If anyone wishes to have a different location then we can work together to make it happen. This map is definitely not done, this is just the easy way for everyone to claim territories. After everyone has done so, and I read their descriptions of world space, I will work to create a real map.
I hope this is something we can all agree upon, because I don't want anyone dropping out because they felt their ideas were being ignored or overlooked. I am trying my best not to let that happen!

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I will try not to post too much and monopolize the thread.
Anyway, as far as my location goes, my character will spend most of her time guarding the portal. The location of that will depend entirely on the location of the library.
When not guarding the portal, she will reside on the Plane of Air, which is essentially the whole sky. Read up on the planes if you don't understand. I could pin-point a castle in the sky that can be seen on the Material Plane, but it would appear abandoned.

I thought nothing could be seen between different planes?
No. The beings can't, but the landscape usually can be seen.

Aside for where the shadow plane overlaps the world, there you get Morgarath and his kingdom of darkness.

Ok. I guess that makes sense. Sorry Raptorman, but I'm still no closer to putting up that Shadow Plane stuff. But hopefully tonight I will get the chance.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Well I have been working on my landscape pretty much all night - I even drew this retarded makeshift map of how I want it to look...cause I'm a dork like that. But so far it's coming along really well. There's a lot I'm having to detail though because well I got to thinking "Where does all of their food come from then?" because no one had really specified so mine is more or less the leading supplier for the other countries (or whatnot). Massive farm lands plus a massive city built on a cliff that overlooks the Eastern Sea (which I have for lack of a better term named...if anyone comes up with something better please...say so). Anyway, I've also incorporated a new breed of humans known as the Breale which I'll explain in my sheet how to pronounce. So as you can probably tell I've got alot going for this and I don't plan on giving up now. XD

Oh, now thats awesome!

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
That's amazing! I can draw a bit, but never using the computer. Just look at the Oekaki and that will serve as a testament to my computer art skills. If I had an elective I would take graphic design. I may just sketch a castle in the sky now.
Also, I don't mind simple names for places. It helps me remember better where I am.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Well trust me it's nothing overly amazing! I mean it's not even done on blank paper...I did it in my notebook that I inadvertently seem to do everything in. Once I'm done figuring out how exactly I want it I guess I could upload it. Don't be hatin' if my mad skills aren't entirely mad though. XD
