Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Ok. We are waiting on one more profile before we start this thing. One thing though. For all you new Animorphs make a list of all the animals you want to grab while at the zoo. Owen will give you a list. If you get the morphs on the list or not is up to you because he is going to be busy keeping watch at the front gate. It will be up to the individual characters to get the morphs.
edit: Anyway I have started to work on the first post. It is probably going to take a while because I am going to work with Zaber so we introduce the two old animorphs at the same time. So anyway things are moving forward and we should be able to start soon!
- Spoiler:
Bird of prey [rapter]
Owl
Something big, mean and able to do damage
Cockroach
Fly
freshwater fish
Saltwater swimmer like a dolphin or shark preferably both.
Seagull

I assume Tiger applies for something big mean and able to do damage? Also, a cheetah.
Also, Thanks Sin for making my signature

Tiger works great. Cheetah not so much. They are hit and done type. Best used for hit and run tactics. They tire easily. Of course no one in the group would know that because no one has morphed one yet.

They would if they ever studied cats. Then they'd know that as a species, cats have an energy inefficient way of walking, because they're always moving a little like they're stalking.

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Well it's like with me and Kayla. I know a lot about animals but she won't because I want it to be something she figures out on her own. So I'm basically just going to use my knowledge to better my details when the time comes instead of as my character's strength. :3
Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Sunwolf, what kind of water do Eletric Eels live in..? I have no idea at all.
Hmm
This looks interesting.
I would be happy to get involved with this roleplay, but I am having apprehensions about RPing a high schooler. I was, until recently, working on my masters in education to become a high school English and History teacher. I stopped as it is a shit job for shit pay, not because the kids were bad.
On the contrary, the kids were the best part of the job. But having recently observed them as an adult... the idea of trying to roleplay the emotional senselessness, randomness, and straight-up unexplainable explosiveness of an American adolescent fills me with dread.
Would you consider me playing some faculty member at the high school who is just a normal dude? I have no problem only popping in from time to time when the kids are either at school or somewhere out in town. Perhaps in the future things might develop to the point my guy could touch a cube, but I'm not really worried so much about having powers.
This is your roleplay, and there are plenty of opportunities at this site for me, so please don't feel obligated to say yes if you don't want to.
EDIT: To my knowledge, Electric Eels are exclusively ocean fish.

The electric eel isn't actually an eel.. it's mostly a freshwater fish that lives in the rivers in the Amazon, swamps, stagnate water beds, and the like. They like places with dim lighting, and have to surface frequently to get oxygen.

I would be down with you playing a minor character. I can keep in contact with PMs to incorporate your character in posts of mine. You will still write for you character but I think most of your written material will be combined in other peoples posts. I may be wrong but it might turn out to be that way. I know the first post I am working on will take place at school so I will PM it to you to add in the teacher's part. Please fill out a character sheet anyway so we have a good idea what your character is like.
FK your the last writer to be accepted. I didn't expect so many people joining! Anyway I have been working on the first post which might be very long when I am done with it because I will be having other writers combine written material with my first post. Anyway we are getting close to starting and I am looking forward to this RP!

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Here is my character sheet.
- Spoiler:
- Name: Cicero Lamberti
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Appearance: A slender man of about 6 foot. He is bald, but he has the shape of head to make it work, and he maintains a deeply tanned complexion (lots of outdoor reading combined with his mother's African heritage). His eyes are a rich brown, and more often than not, his mouth is pressed together in a serious sort of fashion.
Personality: Cicero is a compassionate man with a serious demeanor. He sees life as a constant pathway of self-improvement, and he quickly loses patience with those who seem to be flippant or unreliable. However, his life's passion is educating the next generation of great thinkers, so he attempts to hold himself as a sort of intellectual role-model for the students in his classroom, knowing that many of them do not have many positive male figures in their lives. His zealotry often puts him at odds with less idealistic faculty members.
Character’s History: Cicero was born in New York. His family: well-established Italian immigrants who had fled from Mussolini in the early years of the Second World War. Their family had been land owners in San Gimignano, a rustic, agricultural section of Tuscany. Upon arrival, Cicero's grandfather had been quick to purchase a deal of land in upstate New York, land left in bank possession due to the ongoing Great Depression. Cicero's father grew into a prominent civil lawyer, who then married Cicero's mother, an African-American social worker in the early 1970s. In 1977, Cicero was born to a ruthlessly intellectual household devoted to ethics and social justice; values that would follow Cicero through the rest of his life.
After graduating from high school, Cicero went to King's College in Cambridge, England on scholarship, where he graduated with honors. He returned to America and received a Masters in Teaching from Georgetown University. After graduation, he began his career as a teacher, but due to budget cuts, was laid off after his first year. He was then admitted to Oxford, and he graduated with his doctorate in English Literature. With the American economy in the upswing, Cicero returned to the public school system, much to the surprise of everyone involved, and continues to work as a high school English and History teacher, or "in the trenches of education" as he likes to put it.
Morphs: No current powers.
Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
The opening theme to the old Animorphs series in the early 90's, I don't think it was ever finished, but it's a great opening and hopefully it might inspire people in their writings.
Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Well like I said, it's really old. xD Hopefully someone likes it.
Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
OH MY GOD I ASETKLAWJ REMEMBER THAT.
I love that opening.
...Good god that made me sound crazy.

I totally agree. But I am looking into watching the whole series just because I have nothing better to do with my time. Anyway I got what I needed from Zaber so I can continue working on the first post. I swear that's going to be 5 pages (2 pages in word right now) in word before I am done. I blame all the contribution by the people I asked for pieces. Anyway when you all are thinking of how to write your first posts for your characters please look at what I did (when you can read my post and I am done with it) but basically I went through the whole day. When we start up it will be dark out but that doesn't mean you have to start your first post where I leave off. Please go though what would be a normal day for them until the intervention by Owen (and the Chee) and the whole explanation of the invasion. At this would give you something to work on until my first post is up. I hope by the end of the week we can kick this thing into open posting status for all. That's me being hopeful but lets see.

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
I'll wait for you to post. I like to know where things are going before I get started. :3 And I'm glad SOMEONE appreciates me digging up that vid xD Animorphs are so better than Power Rangers... Power Rangers was just.. corny. I thought that even when I was a kid. xD
Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
I appreciate it. Even if it looks low budget like most things did before mind blowing graphics it's in the spirit of the RP. I'm ready for this thing to get started. I've already gotten soo excited about the RP I'm planning to start after this one.

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
News update! I am done with the first draft of the first post. Besides a few details I have to work out with Zaber and Hubris it's finished. Now we are just waiting on 2 character profiles and a scene from Hubris to be added to the 5 pages that is the first post.

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
I'm so ready for this thing to get started. I also went to the library yesterday and picked up a couple of the animorphs books, I forgot how short they were, I only have a few pages left and I will have finished them , it's only taken me two hours at the most for both the books that I got.

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Another news update! I have completed the first post and after Zaber looks it over tomorrow morning and ok's it I will consider it done. That means that all we are waiting on are the two character profiles from Fallenknight and Shades of Gray. I PMed them both and hopefully will hear back soon. Fallenknight said he would get his done by tomorrow afternoon. So that means we will be starting soon my friends!

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Whoo! I can't wait. <3 I'm going to be spending time with my fiance for most of the time during the week but I should be able to get my post done quickly enough.
Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
OK. I got sick of waiting so I posted the first post. When you make your own first post you can run through a regular day like I did or go straight to the zoo and explain how you picked up all your morphs. For the people owing me profiles you have until the end of the week to turn them in. I don't want to hold up this RP any longer. I am looking forward to the first posts of the rest of you!
Edit: I heard from Fallenknight and he said that he would be unable to write for this RP due to real life issues. So that means Shades of Gray has to get her profile in before the end of the week if she is going to participate in this RP.

Whoot, second reply
Sorry it took me so long to get to the RP. I've been planning out my writing. It's gonna be good as long as I can keep it going. Anyway, I don't think we can acquire all of our morphs in one night so I'm leaving some for later on.

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
The first posts have been looking awesome! I am currently waiting on Zaber to post because he has to take care of the next plot point at the end of his next post. Once that happens we can move on. I don't think this is going to be one of those fast moving RPs but I do plan on posting at least 2 times a week.
On a side note I think it works out great if you work as a team for conversations. Like how Zaber and I did in my first post. This way you don't have to worry to much about the post length requirement. We used PMs and AIM and it turned out great. Not saying you have to but I think it makes the story flow better. Plus the whole RP doesn't get bogged down with posts only containing one line of dialogue.
On another side note this RP is going to be the first in a series (hopefully long) of RPs. This RP will end upon the conclusion of the actual first night of the New Animorphs. From there I will start a whole new RP thread so we can hopefully weed out inactive members and replace them with active members. That's the plan anyway. Plus we get to actually complete an RP. Albeit short but still finished! Anyway if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. I am sure I will be PMing some of you soon to start work on my new post so that I can get character responses in and move the plot at the same time.

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
One other option would be to leave open spaces in our posts. Somehow we managed to do that on some other forums I was on. Like, to talk with each other, but instead of assuming the answer, we kept going without pause. Then the next poster would answer, then the original poster would take that information to converse with, and back and forth. o-0 Just to say. I've never RP'd one line dialogues. xD But if anyone wants to plan RP chat with me, feel free to spam my in box.
Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
If anyone needs to coordinate with me about things, I decided to look up my password for my old AIM account and added the name into my contact information here, that would probably be easier than PMing back and forth since you could get more discussing done quicker,

Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Eh..I'll post in the thread tomorrow Sun, I've got to work on my entry for the monthly contest right now.
Re: New Animorphs: The first night (OOC: Closed)
Ok now if everyone could let me know what morphs they actually acquired I can modify the first post of this topic to be accurate. Also if you could point out what gender the animal was because in the animal world sometimes females are bigger than males and sometimes the males are bigger than the females. Anyway if you need a reference as to how to list morphs look at my character's newly updated profile. Other than that I got nothing.
