Yea it's not just school for me either. I usually have to try and post with a little monkey pulling on my leg... lol Smile

If I could give my complete attention to the computer while I'm posting I could post more frequently, but as it is I have to balance caring for my son, doing homework for my classes and finding time when Silvone is not on the computer (LOL!) No hard feelings!

I'm sticking to your plan.

When K.O. and I've finished constructing the setting of our rp, I'm going to set it in the first post with a map and our characters. This way it'll be easy to keep up with. BUT K.O. and I are going to take time in making this idea come to life. So it'll be a while. Ryona, Danger, if you guys are interested in using K.O.'s world plan and setting, then I'll definitely try and organize it into my first post so that we can all keep up.

WELL THEN let's keep on brainstorming K.O.

But first, let's finish up the idea of the map.

=========================

We should have a diverse set of areas.

-Kingdom (1 or 2 of these) : A place where the people are abundant and the economy is striving. Usually along plains or plateaus where the land is flat and rolling, or next or near water.
-Villages (a handful) : Places along the way that serve as rest-stops or markers. Maybe small storyline twists could happen here. They are usually noted by small amounts of people and cozy living.
-Forests (1-4) : There are many types of forests. Thin willowy forests haunted by fog, or maybe a short lively forest with thick tree roots serving as rough terrain for the untrained traveler.
-Mountains (1-3) : Mountains should be up north, and they should be markers of ice and cool weather. Maybe the air elemental resides along the mountain range.
-Valleys (should match up with number of mountains: 2 mountains makes 1 valley) : Deep dips in the land between mountains. Usually have a creek, or long grassy green land; supporting lots of life.
-Islands (1-4, maybe more) : land masses in the sea, accentuated by salty sea breezes and abundant wildlife. These can have volcanoes, threatening terrain, jungles, etc.
-Lakes/Rivers/Streams: These can be placed at random, or have them running near the mountains and around the shores, cutting through the center of land so to provide water.

Here's my first outline of the map.
There should be a mountain range in the north, to cut off from the edge of the map and also to provide a few of the rivers, but it shouldn't be directly sideways. Make it slanted a bit.

Here 'tis.
Suggest changes now, if you can think of any, before we move on to the next step.

Cultures should be based upon area and race.

Island cultures I think should be more tribal, more in tact with nature. I like to call these cultures "Creative". Creative culture is about protecting the world you are blessed to have, and they usually lead simple lives.

Elven cultures are something K.O. might know more about than I. Usually they are protectors of the wood, immortal and wise, sagacious even. They care for nature, that's what I know. lol.

I think that there should be a major culture which would be unanimous throughout kingdoms and villages.

Okay. Ryona, that's what you'll use to make the map.
However, let me just make a few guidelines in the form of a few scribblies.
If you have better tools, it might be better if you just start with the outline; just don't start until I scribble a few mountain ranges and rivers and things for reference in another image, coming in a little bit.

As for cultures, I'll work on that.
What should be dominant? Humans? Elves? Both?

I think in the northeastern peninsula, to the high northeast (LOL) there should be a thick forest, maybe in an O shape surrounding an elven capitol or something.

I think humans should be dominate, and I believe that elves should be almost equivalent in number with humans, yet I think they would be less active in the public. As in, many elves find it honorable to stick to their own kind, reside in villages with others like them, do not mingle with humans often.

I would suggest a N-S mountain range connecting the two giant bay/gulfs on the main land. Something with a fault line and lots of earthquakes would explain those large gulfs.

Do as much to the map as you'd like. I'll work with whatever you give me.

I like her idea. I believe that the southwestern island, the large one, should has a volcano on it.

I don't think there's enough room for a desert.
There can be a WASTELAND, but not a desert.
Wasteland kept waste-y by magic somehow.
But I don't think that'll work, because of the races.
There's a lot of people, so we don't have room for large, uninhabitable areas.

This is just a guideline. I liked the elf capital idea.

Alright, I admit it, I will never ever be able to play just one character.
So, we get possible multiple romances, tons of different races, tons of villains.
YAY!!

Ugh, brain is stalled.
We could just wing it...

Or what was that thing about Taura trying to regain her immortality. Elaborate a little on that, if you could. Maybe I'll get an idea.

Bear with me, this is my first official map...

Are there universal signs for these forest types? Lol, because she said she wants willow-y forests.

Also, we haven't placed kingdoms, villages, nor named rivers and mountain ranges. Do you want me to just work on the terrain and add that stuff in later, or wait for all of the info?

Yeah, do the terrain first.
Also, I think you can make custom brushes on photoshop.
Or you could probably download some kind of photoshop brush pack that has fantasy tools for maps.

The original thing with Taura was that she was a goddess trying to regain immortality so that she could fight, and defeat, her sister Avaltha.

With this, I think I can work on that.

Taura is an immortal under Mother, and she has a twin, Avaltha, born by the Mistress. When the two come to battle one day, Avaltha takes victory and draws Taura's power from her very body, eliminating her immortality altogether. Taura then must travel to the Elementals and learn their magics, and she has to use this magic to regain immortality, thus to fight Avaltha again.

Maybe Avaltha has plans of manipulating the shields or the Elementals in hopes of ruling teh world, or shaping it differently.

Anyway I LOOOVE the Daughters of the "Goddesses" idea!!

Reason I didn't make them both "Goddesses" was because I always hate those "balance" realms where the Light one just one day realizes that the Dark one is evil. *rollseyes*
So the Mistress really IS evil, see, not just "the shadow" side of the balance. Good is actually supposed to win. Wink
