Hey, just because I disappear for weeks on end and come back not exactly sure of what has happened in my absence doesn't make me a smelly hippy.

Lol aw, that was awesome, Kathryn. We love your hippy ways, Lu. *sticks an air freshener on his nose* ^_^ There! All better.

Lucian 'The Wolf' Harth wrote:My Star Wars RP is lookin for interesting characters. You can give that a shot if you want. Try and be very original if you concider it, I've gotten several people that want to play mercenaries and bounty hunters already, myself included. But it's my RP so I feel that I can be an exception to the rule
Thanks for the offer, but I want to stay far away from Star Wars RP's. This is not to offend you, but for me it's over done since I have been involved and seen so many. Again thanks for the offer.
Actually this board seems too quiet, I had made one post so far, I might continue it and have it lead off somewhere (for practice). I also made an OOC thread for one...I think I'll just look around and see what appeals to me. =P I think at times I'm misunderstood, as I sometimes bring out the kid in me in some RPs.
Ah screw it, I'll just watch some of the Avatar Episodes and see if I can join in somehow...the show appealed to me, and an idea for an RP also appeals to me. Sure will take awhile to get through book 1 to 3; good grief.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
From what I've seen of you so far, Arthmael, you seem like an interesting and nice guy. I really would love to get to know you better. I'm sure if you've had any trouble with getting any role-plays going, it might just be that perhaps that people didn't know you well enough? Sometimes, that can be the case. I think you're worth getting to know though. :]
I'm not sure if Kathryn and Misery are accepting more people for the Avatar role-play or not. Kathryn? It's most definitely a show everyone should watch all the way through though!

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
No worries if I can't join in, would be nice. I'm going to watch the show anyways, I really enjoyed the first three episodes I had seen of it.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
It would be nice to get to RP with you. Oh, and that's great! I'm gald to hear you'll be watching them. Yeah, they're great, and the humor is the best I've probably seen in any cartoon before.
Re: The Chatterbox Thread
At this moment, we're not accepting new people, but we sort of have a waiting list. ^o_o^ You could be person #2 on it. Basically, what's going to happen is if someone just... doesn't post or if they decide they want to leave, they're going to be relieved of their position, and the next person on the list is welcome to come aboard. We're still in the beginning phases, so I'm pretty sure you'll be waiting a long while, but yeah. ^^_^^;;
The show is definitely worth watching no matter what happens, though.
The storyline is probably the best in any American cartoon I've seen in a long time. Actually, now that I think about it, I had an argument with Xiantic once about what qualifies as a cartoon. A progressive storyline doesn't occur in a cartoon. Therefore, Avatar isn't a cartoon. It's an animated series.

Oh I agree, not only that it's one of the best looking in terms of detail and artwork. Some of the cartoon's today are inferior compared to it.
Kathryn: Ah that would be great, guess I have my work come out for me. Home work I would be glad to do; that is to watch Avatar all weekend when I get the chance .

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I've been watching one disc of Avatar a day... For the first season, that was only four episodes, but now for the second and third it's five. I would rather watch Avatar over the course of several days than two. That way you have time to mull things over and to think about them rather than just wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am. There is a lot about which to think in that show, too. It was originally geared toward a younger demographic... like... ten year olds, but even people who are in their sixties ((my grandma with whom I'm currently watching the series)) enjoy it. It's universally made of awesome.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
That does make sense, Kathryn, about the differences in an animated series and a cartoon. Avatar is clearly different than other American cartoons. It does have a progressive story line. I like to think that it treats you as the viewer as if you can actually think (wow, imagine that!), rather than, "Here's an obstacle for our heroes to overcome, along with some flashy colors." (So many cartoons on Cartoon Network are like that, and they give me a headache XD lol.)
Watching Avatar is the best homework I've ever heard of! ^^ I'm re-watching them all myself now.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
hahahah You just watched them, though! You're silly.
Also, Arthmael, when you're done watching the series, you can join us in the Avatar: The Last Airbender discussion thread in the Entertainment section. ^^_^^
Oh! Misery told me- when he first watched the series- that if you aren't fully hooked, you will be as soon as you hit Chapter 7: "Zuko Alone" Book Two: Earth. Of course, that could be because his favorite character is Zuko, but I think that's actually a pretty good moment in which the viewer is sucked into the dark side forever. ^^_^^

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I know - I did just watch them, lol. I feel like I'm forgetting things already though...! Must...remember...all!
I loved Avatar from early on, but I fell in love with it, I think, when I saw those episodes in Ba Sing Se, when you saw the stories of different people (or animals). Appa's tale was so sad and emotional. It really put him in a new light and added to his character.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I think they all contribute to make a world of awesome, Lucian. Balance!!!
Also, yes. The Tale of Iroh and the Tale of Momo make me cry like a baby. Also... various other episodes make me cry... and sometimes a random un-sad event will make me cry because I know what it will trigger later because I know the show so well! I'm such a baby... XD

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
That's what's so great about the show though! It can really trigger all your emotions, and it does an amazing job of it too. *love*
After working on an Airbender character and playing her a little already, I might be favoring that best. I do love them all though.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I've known almost from the get-go that water was my favorite if I could have one for myself, though in the beginning I was teetering between it and fire. I just feel like waterbending is more diverse than other elements, and I already have my affinity with water, sooo yeah... Plus, I played as Katara in a panfandom for like... months... so I really got to know waterbending closely... and yeah. ^^_^^

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I do love how Waterbending can also be healing as well. Tony and I loved that element most too I think from the start. I'm sort of on the fence now though between it and air. Ahh, but fire is very cool too, but it's not all that diverse. I mean, there's not much you can really do with it, like with the other elements. So, earth is pretty sweet, because I mean, look at all that Toph could do! XD Ah, I'm just rambling now. I'll never be able to decide which I like most, I don't think.
Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I just want to say that while I would prefer to be a waterbender, all four elements are made of win.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Indeed!
It is getting late, and I haven't played enough of my new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince game yet! D: It's actually really fun! XD The graphics are amazing, and the voices are all the same from the movie (or at least, all the main characters). All the background sounds too are fantastic. It's a well-made game, for being one based off a film...based off a book.

Ooh, what console did you get it for? My sister is dying to get it for the Wii.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
After seeing a commercial for it, I kinda want to try it on the Wii myself. Waving the Wiimote around like a wand sounds pretty awesome. How's the PS3 version?
Kathryn -- Aw, why? I mean, I'm not too huge a fan of it because of all the lame games available for it, but it does have a few pluses.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
Yeah... I'm not much of a gamer ((which is why it's odd I don't like the Wii)), but if I'm not going to have a real controller that I can move however I want without it affecting my game, then the only other thing I want is a DDR pad. Seriously... How can I flop around crazily and not worry that it's going to affect what happens in my game? Plus... yeah... the games are made of fail...

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
I think the Wii was a cool idea. Granted, it's not going to be the game console of choice of a hardcore gamer, but it's got a lot of innovative ideas behind it. (I would love to have Wii Fit or fight with a lightsaber! XD *dork alert*)
DDR scares me....mainly 'cause I'm horrible at it, hehe. It's seriously embarrassing. I absolutely love the crazy Japanese music in the though haha.

Re: The Chatterbox Thread
DDR is amazing. And there's even a similar game for the Wii, dance mat and all!
But I do understand the thing about the controllers. It's kinda crazy if you can't control the remote (which I can't always do... but it's still super fun to use a wheel for Mario Kart!).
Dork alert? I have the game that uses the lightsaber attachment! -Star Wars nerd alert- Sadly, Mom says that the attachment actually makes it harder for the console to sense the remote, so she wouldn't let me get it.
