HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
MANTICORE PRODUCTIONS
Manticore Productions wants YOU! Yes, YOU! Exitus Sator is a massive project that has evolved past the imagination of the original creators, me and Akana, and we've decided to start building the Manticore team to be bigger and better. We need hard workers with brilliant minds, and so I've gone out and am on a search for my team!
So, why would you want to be a part of this? Well, you get your work published, yes, but the probability of cash off of Exitus Sator is low; We're making Exitus Sator non-profit as a publicity stunt, so that we get a larger fan base, so that when we release future projects and expansions, we get more cash than we would have with Exitus. So, if you stay with the team, cash will eventually factor into it all! You get fame and fortune!
Positions on the Team include the following, along with a member's Skype user name.
C.E.O: Jordan "Mezrin" Kunkel

Is there a link anywhere, perhaps? I think that would help people determine whether or not they want to commit to something like this.

What's the difference between concept artist, artist, and head artist?

Concept artist brings forth plentiful ideas based on the writing. Artist does the bulk of the work, coloring, shading, position, landscape. Head artist decides when its finished or adds any minor bits, governing over Concept Artist/Artist.
I believe that's a roughly good description
Also - I may be interested in one of those Artistic positions.

Architect... as in the traditional meaning of building designers? O_o

Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
I'm interested on a writing position, but I am unsure of what it will en-tale. More information pl0x?
Will there be meetings weekly over Skype or whatnot, will works be commission based, how much time do you expect us to put into this per week, what is the setting, is there any information on the world avalible, what kind of constraints can I expect...
I may have more questions, but that's for starters. I know I said I would join your game, but I do not foresee me having very much time to game at the moment, but if I could justify this as a 'job' job, I could see myself devoting time to writing.

Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
Well, damn! I didn't put much information in on the thought that not many would look!
Okay, Exitus Sator is a Tabletop RPG. It takes place a few hundred years in the future after the United States nukes everyone else in order to kill the other-worldy invaders known as the Daezra. However, without nuking themselves, they didn't kill all of the Daezra and they still grew powerful. So, the Naraxas, a shadowy race of darker power arrives, making Earth their new home after a destructive empire exiled them. They now battle Humans and Daezra for Earth, sometimes even working and living alongside Humans.
Now, to answer a few questions:
Fate: http://www.filefront.com/14048423/E.S.%20Manual%20V%20A0.2%20%28CURRENT%29.pdf
That is a manual to the game, and almost everything we've got done. We're changing things and can't redo the manual yet due to a technical difficulty, though that'll be done soon.
Thunder Daddy: See Reffent's post. Though Head Artist does more drawing than that, they get to play art critic mostly.
Loki: Yes, good maps and designs are needed to describe bases and whatnot so they seem logical.
Diodri_Setera: Writing entails working under my Head Writer, Ryan Johnson, in order to create the lore of the game. This would entail culture, events, characters, races, materials, ect. of everything. You just get to be a smaller lore man. We don't really have meetings much. If everyone's on Skype, we usually get into a conference and work or hang with each other, get updates. Weekly time isn't expected from anyone; work as you see fit unless a superior gives you a deadline. Then I expect you to work by that deadline. However, if you cannot make it, you can make an appeal or plead for an extension and you'll probably get it. We're laid back like that.
Constraints you can expect would be fairly hard to say. It's all pretty much open to your interpretation. Ryan is working on the Daezra, and we've let him make an entire new thing for the Daezra, including one sub-race and a Specialist class.
EDIT: And a designer will work on game mechanics with Akana and I. That simple.

Whens the deadline for this?
I'd like to try to get a spot as an artist. However, I'm a bit busy today and I'm not sure if I can sit down to sketch a few things out to show you.

The deadline would be when I feel that I have enough members on my team. I'll write little contracts up for people. Just get your application in before everyone else, hehe.

Hm. I'll think about Designer. Regardless, you can hit me up over MSN if you want my help regardless of an official position. If I'm on, I can always talk.
Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
Name: Ben "Loki"
Age: 23
Position Applied For: Architect
Background:
Profle
Experience:
5 years at a university studying Architectural Engineering
2 summers working for an architectural engineering firm
2.5 years in a relationship with an Architectural Design student (trust me, it's relevant)
Relevant classes taken:
Introduction to Architecture
Architectural Design Studios 1-4 (I plan on posting a video of some of my earlier projects in the near future)
Comprehensive Architectural Design Studio
Architecture & Society (covered the general concepts of building design in several cultures)
Building Systems
Architecture Seminar
History Theory of Modern Architecture
As well as structural design courses that would at least triple this list.
Why I Should Hire You:
I am probably the most experienced person in this field that you will come across on these forums. I have devoted the past five years of my life accumulating this knowledge and how to use it. My design studios focused primarily on more abstract works to test our creativity and ability to think outside of the box. This experience will allow me to come up with unique works that are not necessarily tied to modern designs or simple cookie cutter block buildings (unless that is what you are looking for, in which case I can do that also). My thorough knowledge of structural design will ensure that the buildings that are designed are realistic, ensuring that the designs that are provided have more reason to their layout than a “because they look cool” reasoning. Design professors frown upon such a phrase, aesthetic beauty must follow the buildings function and not the other way around.
Why You Want The Job: I have always enjoyed using my creativity to create. It would be nice to be able to do so without having to worry about designing my buildings around what professors think should be done. A lot of good designs get nerfed once a professor “tweaks” it, such revisions are made solely out of fear of failing the class because said professor does not approve of the design. Also to be able to design works that don’t have to follow strictly to building codes or need to be simplified for the sake of easy structural calculations.
A Description of Job Applied for: To come up with building designs and city layouts associated with each particular race and make them a direct reflection of their differing societies. To ensure that structures are realistic and expressive, but still indicative of the time period this RP takes place, while using realistic materials, building layouts, and keeping everything to scale.

Accepted. Like, a lot. Ryan himself says to say "Thank you so fucking much thank you!" He needs you to build stuff, ha!
If you have Skype, give me your contact name. Otherwise, get Skype, wouldjya?
Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
Right, I'll go get skype...may not be able to do videochaterama for a while, though. Moving around the country and all that. *grumbles*

Bah, who cares about Video Chat? As long as we can hear your voice, it's good.
Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
Ugh, my family may be weird if they hear my talking to people on the internet...but I'll be sure that I can do that once I'm situated. Right now, I'm moving around the country, visiting family and stuff. At my grandparents' house ATM, then going to see cousins, then going to the beach, then going back to the general location that is becoming home. (Translation: voice chat may be difficult or impossible for a few weeks.) I move into my dorm around 8/18. I really don't expect money out of this. I, like, love playing with numbers. Also, I'm afraid I haven't looked at the manual yet due to the fact that, well, I can't download anything onto someone else's computer. Give me a bit...
Name: Chapney "The Mighty Fluffball"
Age: 17
Position Applied For: Designer
Background:
I've been homeschooled up until two years ago, when I entered the Scottish education system. As my dad was getting his PhD at the U. of Chicago, I grew up with...like, the smartest young minds in the world. In fact, I'm pretty sure that due to my distractions, they lost quite a few grade marks, haha. Obviously, I have advanced English skills, as you can see simply by benefit of my membership on this site. I've been writing for a while now, and as all nerds, been into gaming systems for even longer.
I lived in Houston, TX for 2 years, Chicago, IL for 4 years, Birmingham, AL for 9 years, and Glasgow, Scotland for 2 years, and I've just moved back to the states to attend Duke University up in NC.I enjoy long, moonlit walks by the beach, and I'm still waiting for my knight in armor to sweep me off my feet.
Experience:
In every single game I've played, I unfailingly tried to work out the system. Yes, this even extends to Pokemon, although I got bored of THAT purty damn quick. It's tough to figure out the exact workings of a GBA game (I didn't have the sense to look on gamefaqs) so you can guess how successful I was, but I saw the light with neverwinter nights. I'm far too lazy to actually look it up, but I'm rather proud that I worked out the system for myself. Yes, I'm easily pleased. I've played with RPG workings, video gaming equivalents, and helped to try to straighten out a forum battle system, although (1) forum battle systems tend to suck and (2) the admin was never on, so even my beginning ideas were never actually implemented. Oh well, I tried.
In terms of cold, hard achievements, I took Advanced Higher Mathematics and Advanced Higher Applied Mathematics: Statistics last year, and did rather well for myself. (Are you familiar with the British A-Levels? The Advanced Highers are slightly more difficult.) In other words, not only am I extremely familiar with advanced math, but I understand how these systems work--after all, understanding is the key component of Applied Maths, and I'm extremely good at it.
Why I Should Hire You:
I'm familiar with the World Of Darkness system, the DnD system, several forum systems, and moreover I understand each of these systems on a conceptual level, not just a practical one. I know exactly what the numbers are trying to communicate to the players, and I can tell you how each system succeeds and how it falls short. I'm studying Economics (or I will be, come late august), which means that I'll be continuing to study how numbers translate into real life. That's exactly what we're trying to do here. Moreover, no matter how busy I am, I will nearly always have time just to talk about numbers, because quite frankly, that doesn't take much effort for me. This is the sort of stuff I scrawl into the back of my math notebook when I'm bored in class.
Also, if you hire me, I'll buy you a beer when you're legal.
Why You Want The Job:
Because Mezrin is a god and I want to be just like him.
I like screwing with systems. I like screwing with the ways numbers affect reality. I like screwing with the ways numbers describe reality. You guys are really dedicated to this project, and that means I'll be able to do something seriously cool with you.
A Description of Job Applied for: "[A] designer will work on game mechanics with Akana and I. That simple." (Technically, that should be "Akana and me.") I get to play with the game system, and help you guys figure out exactly how the hard numbers are gonna work. That sounds simple enough, but believe me, I know exactly how many complications can arise from that. There are always dangers of having useless stats left over (coughcoughcharisma) that affect one aspect of one class, and that's it. Dangers of having a system so complicated that it could never possibly work unless you write an extremely complex program just so that people could determine how many feet they can move per turn. My job is to keep that from happening, to keep the system realistic, simple, functional, and able to be used given the materials at hand.

Decent enough, I know you, you're pretty cool, and obviously intelligent. Accepted! I'm holding you to that beer, though.
Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
Name: Reffy (Jenny)
Age: 24
(25 in August - wewt!)
Position Applied For: Artist (Head/Concept/Artist) Probably not Head. Since its already taken by the Awesome Inerio and I don't like making decisions.
Background:
I'm not sure what GSCE's ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GCSE ) and A-Levels ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Level_(UK) ) equate too over here in the USA.
As far as I can tell its high-school + 2yrs
Art GCSE= Graded C (Highschool)
I did a lot of doodling during Highschool. Not the normal stuff either. I like to dip in to the surreal World, a lot! My favorite Artist was Salvador Dali. Particularly his "Swans Reflecting Elephants" ( http://www.freewebs.com/andraporojnicu/37SwansReflectingElephants.jpg ).
I had a lot of big ideas, and still do. Some I've drawn out, others I'm waiting for the right time to unleash on to the public.
AS-Level Art= Graded C (1st year of advanced study)
I went a little wacky during this time. Learned I had a good hand for natural stuff like plants. I still kept the doodles going, loving to sitting in the library and draw random people. At this point I used it as a way of expressing myself.
A-Level Art= E (2nd year of advanced study)
Yes, I know I dropped 2 grades. Fuck you. I was unfairly judged but a husband and wife team who did not like my ideas. There was also a fully written piece I had to do, but at the time didn't realize I was part dyslexic. One teacher, who helped me a lot during that time, even said it was unfair and that my written piece was good. Should have gotten it remarked but at the time it shattered my life.
Any ways. I still did big projects. I was also known as the 6th former who drew a dead baby. Ok, before you panic, it wasn't a real dead baby. They baby was real on the diapers magazine cutout - I just redrew it and colored its lips blue then extended its belly. It looked fucking awesome!
AS-Level Drama= Graded C (I didn't act - I designed sets)
I designed the set for Ariel Dorfman's "Widows" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_Dorfman ).
This play is set in the General Pinochet Military Regime.( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinochet )
It was a very touching piece for me. I did a lot of research into methods of torture and historical events. I know what they went through. I did a lot of growing up during this time.
The set itself featured a lot of sand and dead trees. Upstage was the office for the commander. It also had a river running around the edge. I painted 2 huge banners, the flag at the time. There was also hanging stories from the people at the time, or made up by us. They were rather gruesome accounts of torture, the audience got to read them before the play started. I also got the pleasure of making 3 stuffed dead bodies.
Pretty awesome.
Experience:
Youth Project (This was the local "Arun Youth Opera Group")
I designed the set for the play "Carmen" by George Bizet ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmen ).
I painted the backdrop and 4 huge banners, depicting a Spanish Dancer, an Ace of Spades, A Bull-fighter and a Rose. That show was performed at the Brighton Butlins, open to the paying public. Pretty much the first time I got acknowledgment for my paintings and the first time I was fully exhibited.
I was also involved with another play from the "Arun Youth Opera Group". A rewritten traditional Mummers play ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mummers_Play )
They wrote the script. I helped with the making of pretty much everything. The banners, the costumes, the masks, the props. Another awesome time in my life. Unfortunately also the time of my big car-vs-bike accident, which took me off the project for 2 weeks. Fucking sucked - but the play still went ahead. That show was awesome and after-wards the masks and costumes got show-cased in the local museum.

AWR Art thread: http://awritersrecluse.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=art&action=display&thread=1859
Unfortunately I'm crappy at keeping a record of my art. All the plays and works I did during my highschool career are lost. I prefer to progress rather than dwell. Not having that visual reminder lets me move forwards with new ideas, without trying to stick true to the old.
Why I Should Hire You:
Why shouldn't you?
Kidding. I'd like to say "for my skills" but I know there's a lot of better artists out there. One thing I can reassure you of is my drive. My willingness to get things done and my punctuality. I hate to be late on deadlines. I also love the surreal and would find drawing anything from Adept to Gunslinger easy and more importantly - fun.
Why You Want The Job:
I love a good challenge and I love to draw. I know Exitus Sator (although I've not actually played it yet - damn the challenge of getting people together and organized) I love the classes, spells, equipment, ideas and the range in what you can do with them. The whole thing is pretty exciting.

Accepted. I want you to mainly work on settings and environments, with maybe a few animals/creatures thrown in.
Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
I can do concept artist assistant if that's cool. Like relations I can't commit. And the fact I realize the limitations of my artistic abilities.

Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
Make an application for Concept Artist, T-daddy. That's what we still need anyways, hehe.
Re: HIRING STAFF MEMBERS TODAY!
I wish to say thank you to the many applications I have received from FOG, posting applications, more than I could ever dream of! As of now, however, the Writer position is CLOSED. You may still apply to be a Designer, an Artist, or a Concept Artist!
And don't fret if you can't design game systems or draw; After we're feeling confident that Exitus Sator is nearing completion, I'll open the official Beta Testing positions, and the application will be much more different and easier to fill out.
