Pretty damn good for a television mini-series, I have to say that.

National Geographic's Lockdown prison documentary series.
Like Oz, only cooler. Recently got into watching/listening to documentaries while I draw; I find it really hard to just sit there and watch them, because they're kinda boring, but I like learning about the stuff, you know? And I find I draw better when my attention is divided.

Re: What are you watching?
I'm watching the Game of Thrones series, an adaptation of George Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire for TV. If you've read the books, then you might guess from the name that, for now at least, the series focuses on the first book. All in all, I like them so far, although some of the characters I didn't visualise in the way HBO have done them.
I recommend it to fans of the books, as well as general lovers of fantasy. Although, it could be a bit hard to get into it if you aren't familiar with the setting. (the first episode tries to put way too much info in about an hour of screen-time)

Re: What are you watching?
I just watched Tales From Earthsea. It was an astoundingly great story and a rather great movie. However, I could not help but feel a bit jipped by the end of it. Overall, the movie was like trying to take the entire extended version of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and condensing it down to a 2 hour movie. It was a teaser for a larger, greater story. But, that said, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and I have a sense that they did the story and characters justice despite the fact that I haven't read the books... a problem I intend to remedy.

Re: What are you watching?
I would have to disagree with you Silvone, the books are far, far superior. As a person who watched the movies first, then read the books I can confidently say that they didn't do the epic tale justice. Yes, definitely, the basic ideas were there, the plot was OK I guess, but the book is just so much more. (and I don't mean this in the LOTR sense, where the movies WERE great, Peter Jackson just couldn't put everything in those 10 hours or so) Even the author of the books, Ursula Le Guin, has stated her displeasure at the film adaptation.
All in all, it is a good movie I guess, but if you read the books, I anticipate you'll be much more pleased.

That is what he meant, Blackrock. He expects the books will be far greater than the movie, and if he enjoyed the movie, then the books should be amazing. I think I know what he is getting for Father's Day

Dane Cook: Rough Around the Edges
I take it back. I love Dane. It's just that time he was on Comedy Central Presents that I hate.

Re: What are you watching?
Yeah, I wasn't really saying that the movie is equal with the books, just that I had a feeling the books would be at least as good as the movie, but most likely better. I am certainly glad to see that you think they are FAR better. I was hoping as much. I cannot wait to read them now!

Last night we watched X-men: First Class. Overall I loved it, though there were a couple things that annoyed me. I want to go into details but don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet

Ryona: I recently saw X-Men: Origins as well and really enjoyed it. I haven't seen the other three movies, but now they're on my short list of movies I want to see.
I'll be watching Transformers 2 with my boyfriend this weekend because he hasn't seen it yet. Can't wait for the third one!

Re: What are you watching?
I'm not watching anything at the moment, but my boyfriend and I watched an episode of Top Gear with his friend earlier this afternoon. British car shows are hilariously awesome!
Also, in less than two weeks, Season 3 of Vampire Diaries premieres! I can't wait!

Re: What are you watching?
9/11 specials on TV.
God, I remember waking up ten years ago in California to an opened television and my parents just standing three feet away from the screen, mouths opened and paralyzed.
10 years after and this is all still unbelievable.

Glad to hear that someone else is feeling a bit solemn today. I thought I was the only one following the memorial (I've been reading online rather than watching on TV).
I woke up and got to the TV just as the first tower began to fall. Seeing it live was surreal, and I can't imagine what it was for those present.
