Re: Hello?
A lot of people cannot log in due to the site being reset to its default Forumotion format from www.footstepsofghosts.com to footstepsofghosts.forumoton.com. It has not been addressed by staff yet, although a few people have posted the new address on FoG's facebook page.

Not a clue. I'm not certain anyone on staff is even aware of this issue.

That's alright, no need for them to bother, 'cause it looks like a lot of us have found a more dependable place to park anyway.

Re: Hello?
So Fate's just straight up... gone, then? A little birdie whispered that she'd essentially abandoned the site, but I think I saw her float in once after that. Is anyone in touch with her?

Re: Hello?
I see a lot of the old veterans have been online since my return. But there are not many posts being made. I'm wondering if thats because of a general lack of interest in roleplaying, or if people are waiting for something to join.

Re: Hello?
Hi Dio, I'm on daily, but many have not returned, sadly. New RPs are few as well. Not from lack of interest, but from simple lack of numbers left here willing to play.

I do see a fair number of people in the recently connected section at the bottom though. Hmmmm...

Re: Hello?
Was returning to RPing as I had an idea for one but this site looks pretty dead. So does anyone have any idea how to fix the site? I'd be willing to give something a shot. Hell even making a new site based on this one is an option. Can't think right now but I guess what I'm asking is are there people out there that would like to try and save FoG? I know I would be willing to try something.

Hey Sun Wolf. I'm still around, just I rarely see any kind of a post. I would love to save this place somehow, but it just feels like there is no will to post.

Re: Hello?
I've been gone on a long hiatus, during which the domain name expired and most people relocated to another site. I'm still checking in, now and then.
Edit: I went through weeks of hard work in an effort to save this site just a few months ago. No one seemed interested. Real life threw some stuff at me so I left for a while. Attempts to revitalize the site now feel a bit too late, in my opinion.

Re: Hello?
The general feeling I am getting is that the site is too far gone to fix. What if I was willing to pay for the site? That would fix one problem but it sounds like I couldn't since only the admins can do that. Is that right? If I was willing to run and pay for a site that was basically just like (with a few adjustments) would you guys be willing to help me out. I would need mod's and members to get the place going and would value any input given. I just am not ready to see FoG die and if it has to then I would like to build something from the ashes and rubble.

Re: Hello?
This is correct. I also offered to help with the costs of hosting, but only Fate can do that sort of thing, and she is gone indefinitely. I would be up for salvaging what we can and moving on, if no one else wants to try and save this place.

Re: Hello?
I would have no problem taking the time and making a new site based off of this one as long as the remaining members of FoG will join the site. As long as I can see that it is worth it I don't mind putting in the work.

Re: Hello?
I did want to try and save the place. I spent a year of activity despite near-death to TRY and save this place. No one hooked. Everyone wanted the site to be what it was, without putting any effort of their own. No one could even be bothered to post in the OOC.
As for paying for it, that we can't do even if we wanted to. But to be honest, at the point of what the site was during the domain's expiration, I wouldn't have paid to renew it. No one was posting. Many people left long before it. We had a lot of new users come and go without even a role play to show for it.
I understand your desire to revitalize the site as it was also my desire for a long, long time. But you weren't around when I was trying so hard, no fault to you. But you can't fault others for not being here now, just like you weren't there then.
I'm sorry if this sounds accusatory but I am just trying to help you understand why everyone is reacting the way they are ("The general feeling I am getting is that the site is too far gone to fix").

Re: Hello?
Hey Gadreille. I totally understand where you are coming from, and I feel guilty for not being around when things started to go down hill. I never should have left.
I think we should proceed on two fronts. The first being trying to get the attention of old members who are still interested in roleplaying, and direct them to this thread. Not much is going to come out of this if it is just us few involved. (I'm pretty sure Kalon and Kathryn would be interested).
Second, looking into what it would take to start up a site, and what skills and resources we need. Money, art, possibly some web design, that sort of thing.
What do you guys think?

Re: Hello?
A lot of old FOG members went collectively to a new website. I don't see why they would move again to a "FOG II". That being said, I'm still around, but I am not prepared to invest much of my time into this endeavor. I didn't want your questions to go unanswered, and I appreciate your desires, but I am not ready to act on them. I put many, many hours into this site and I don't at this point have the energy to do so again. That isn't to say I am not supportive of your idea; I would like for you guys to make it happen. I just won't be taking the lead on this project, or do much more than sign up and talk OOC on the new one.

Fair enough. You wouldn't happen to know the name of the site people migrated to, do you?

Re: Hello?
Well, I have been talking with my website guy and he is kind of getting really excited. I came up with a potential name for the site. I was thinking RPG Asylum. Still working on the flavor text at the top. If we pull the trigger on this I would love to see you sign up Gadreille. If you only have time to chat on OOC topics then that's fine. For a site just starting out any activity is good activity. Dio, my friend would be able to help me with the web design and images. I would be able to front the money and time. I think we would have the creation part covered. What we would need help with is getting FoG members to commit to going to the new site. Like Gadreille said, it'll be difficult to have them move once again to a site that will be basically a FoG 2.0. Although with the concepts my friend and I are coming up with I don't think many will notice. We will do all our own images, have a new name, come up with our own rules, and a new color scheme. In fact the only thing that will be the same is that its a forum powered by the same board system and will have the same culture/feel to it. Anyway that is my plan for the new site in a nutshell. Any comments or questions?
