Re: NaNoWriMo 2011
I checked my word count last night after finishing up a line, and it told me I had 666 words.
I figured that was as good a place as any to call it a night.

Get me in on the first page ^_^

I haven't checked my word count yet, but that's mostly because I'm not finished transcribing it from messy handwritten work to magnificently neat and precise typed work of art.

And added. I am slightly behind on my word count but I can make it up tomorrow. How are the rest of you doing?

I am contemplating a radical shift in ideas and setting aside what I have already written for a different time. So, not well.

Re: NaNoWriMo 2011
I've never participated in NaNoWriMo, and I never really knew what it was, but now that I'm starting to work on seriously writing a novel, I looked into it, and I like the idea of trying to accomplish writing 50,000 words in a month with the help and encouragement of others.
I'll probably try and be a part of this in 2012. I signed up now though and am trying to Create a Novel, but it won't let me, since it says the Event section can't be left blank. However, the Event is a drop-down box, and there's absolutely nothing to choose from in that box, so I don't know how to go about creating my novel for the site. Does anyone know if it just doesn't let you do it until November? I'm lost.
EDIT: Ohh okay, never mind. I guess you can't create a novel on there until next October. I guess that makes sense.
Well, I will have to remember this once it comes to be that time again next year. ^_^

Yeah the novel portion of the site closes down after the month ends. That doesn't mean you can't do your own novel writing month though. Like stick to the schedule for January or something like that. Yeah its a lot of fun but I completely failed this year. College got in the way and I figured graduating was a bit more important. How did everyone else do?

I actually took part and got pretty damn close. I'm missing about 4K words.

So close! That's quite the accomplishment though. I only got about 9,000 words done so you did great compared to me.

Re: NaNoWriMo 2011
Yeah, I plan on keeping this going. I'd essentially like to have a pretty long novel by the time I'm finished with book 1 (of 3), so even if I try for 50k words next November, that'll be good.
I could definitely see college getting in the way of this. There was no way I could write that much while attending school, however now work I imagine will be another factor (once I manage to find a job that is), but people still manage to do it, so I guess it is possible.
Even just getting close to your goal is a pretty big accomplishment!
EDIT: I just checked on how much I wrote for one of my old role-plays, and granted it did exist for a few months, but in total I wrote over 83,000 words. That's pretty huge! It's not even anywhere close to being a complete story either, so that's kind of encouraging.
