Georgia Vacation - BBS

Alright, I'm off to the airport tomorrow to catch my flight. Off to Georgia I go, to visit my rich grandparents. >.>
Strangely enough, they sold their New York river property for something like $600,000, and bought their almost mansion-sized house outside Atlanta for $200,000. Only family members I've got without a mortgage. =P

Wow, that's awesome. *envy* I hope that'll be me someday when I'm old, lol. It's crazy though how greatly properties vary based on location. I'd prefer to live in a really cool, bigger house where we could afford decorate it in our modern tastes rather than buying a smaller place or even a condo in the city for the same price. (Onenitedrive and I watch a ton of HGTV with all those real estate shows, so hopefully we will be prepared when the day comes to buy our own home!) It'd be amazing to not have a mortgage though.

Chicago is expensive to live in. You could probably sell your house for around $300k if it's nice enough and buy a great big one outside Atlanta for quite cheap. It's really cheap over there, considering the work put into those houses.
