OOC: Sparks + fragile/Skitz

Alright. This thread is for fragilefigure and I.

I believe all we really need from here on are character sheets and then it's on to the gameplay correct?

Simple enough. Race? Are our characters playing a different species or something?

Also, would it be alright if I used a description rather than a picture for the appearance?

It's just the format I use for everything - in this case, it would be more like... I can't remember the word, but caucasian? African? You know.

And yes - a picture is just fine.

lol. I asked for a description not a picture, but by reading your answer I'll gather that's a yes on the description too.

Anyway, here's my character sheet. I added a section for power description just in case you felt that I would be overstepping my bounds with this power choice I have in mind. I figured since your character has the ability to read minds and such that she would be immune to my characters abilities OR they'd simply work different with her.

Name: Vincent Carvelone

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Race: Caucasian

Appearance: He's a tall, lean man with black hair that's spiked back and bangs that cover his right eye completely. He has gray eyes though the right one seems to come off slightly different in appearance but that's only because he's blind in it. He has a few tattoos along his body like a blank mimic ring of stripes put on his left-hand ring finger, a tribal style tattoo that covers half his torso, and a permanent signature from Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers on his right calf.

Powers: He has a hypnotic ability to his voice that inserts his will into whoever he choses, so let's say he's thinking he really wants a sandwich and he simply says he's hungry to someone else while subliminally giving them the urge to get up and make him a sandwich. He can control the ability very well making it an all out Jedi mind trick OR just an urge that the listener can chose to act upon or not. He can also turn it off completely.


There. Done. Now like I said before, I'm willing to change up the power or add more limitations to it if you'd like. I just thought it would be something interesting to use.

Name: Lucy Gambier

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Race: Caucasian

Appearance: Lucy is a dainty girl, but in a healthy way, with a good amount of meat on her. She has long, wavy hair that she wears almost exclusively down, and next to her milky skin the bright red color is shocking. Along with the red hair her eyes are a deep blue and she is littered with freckles, hinting at Irish or Scottish origin.
Lucy loves to wear dresses and skirts, especially with bright colors and patterns, but when it is cold outside she will gladly pull on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. The word most people use to describe her is 'girly', but they say so with a large amount of affection.
She has her ear lobes pierced but nothing else, although she is toying with the idea of doing her nose as well.

Powers: Lucy can feel emotion through touch. She can't control this power at all, so although it can be highly useful or informative, she often wishes she could just turn it off so she could recieve a hug or a handshake without knowing exactly what the other is feeling.
She often feels that she doesn't have real relationships, feeling that because she adjusts her actions according to touch she is merely acting fake. This is a cause of regular upset for her, and stresses her out to very high levels some times.

I was thinking and I don't think that either person would be immune to the abilities, but that it would work differently. Like maybe because Lucy can tell when Vincent is using his power she has a much higher chance of refusing it. Yes?

I'm glad you like the power I came up with. I got to say this sounds like it's going to be fun.

As for their reactions to each others powers, I agree with you there. I don't think they should be immune to each others abilities as well. I imagine that when Vincent inserts his will into another being and Lucy runs across that person, his desires are very strong in the person. I also imagine Lucy would build up some sort of tolerance to his ability over time.

I'm not so sure about how Vincent will behave with her ability though. I really don't think he'll be immune to it at all. Maybe over time he will manage to find some way around it but with her inability to control her powers and his hard time controlling her I imagine he won't have anyway of stopping her until she's able to control her powers as well. I do imagine he may FEEL her reading him though, but that's it.

That makes sense. Maybe that's how they find out about each other - Lucy can bump into him by accident or some such and he goes "woah!" etc.

That would be a good idea, actually. Shall we do that?

Sounds like a good idea to me... the true stumping question is where would they meet?

Howabout she is a waitress and he orders food, attempts to get a discount or something using his powers, and they discover eachother. Would Vincent be likely to drag her off to investigate?

Nope. He'd be less likely to use his powers solely for a discount, but chances are I can work my way around that. In terms of Vincent's reaction to her realizing she has powers... especially of the mind reading kind. He'll probably try to get as far away from her as soon as possible... which is another thing I can work around... because chances are she's not going to meet him while he's all alone.

Okay so how do you think they should meet? Lucy is fairly shy, but her curiosity tends to get the best of her regardless.

Well we could go with your idea of them meeting at where she works, but Vincent won't be alone.... hmmm... Oh I've got an idea. They meet in the dinner and Vincent's with the band he's in (Yeah he's a musician) and they all invite her to come see them. Then when she sees them while they're performing she finds the time to get alone with him there. It would be a lot easier to find him alone when he's at one of his gigs.

Okay. Would she touch him before or after the invitation?

Whatever works. If you want her to be driven by her curiosity then I guess before.

Okay then - I think it would be an accidental touching, but she feels something wrong so she accepts their invitation to investigate.

Alright. I finished the post. Sorry it took me so long. I rewrote it a few times and I had it pretty much ready yesterday, but as soon as I came home I passed out and was out until I needed to go to work the next day. -.-;

Also I figured "Sparks" was a title that didn't suit the characters and their powers all that much so I changed the name to "Mind Games." I know that's kind of overstepping my bounds on my part, so if you like I'll change it back.
