Re: Emoria: OOC
I'll for sure be posting by tomorrow, but if anyone wants to go before me that is fine. My midterm is from 3:10 to 5:45, where I will be frantically trying to discuss 100 different sources within 16 pages and of course the time limit. When I get home, I'll stick my writing hand in a hot bath, and if I have any brain cells or use of my right hand I may post tonight. If not, expect it by tomorrow night.

Ryona I just assumed your character was sitting on Boyd's other side. If not let me know.

it is Hail, not Hale. I just thought I would tell you since you asked for it.

Yay! I used it correctly. I looked it up in the dictionary, and I actually couldn't find a definition that seemed to fit with what I was trying to portray, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks, Dax.
Anyway, I'll work on a post Saturday. I work tomorrow, and I have plans all day Friday ((yard work then Art Walk)), so I probably won't have time until this weekend. =\

Should I wait for you to post then, DeadEye? It would make sense that you would react to that immediately after his speech. Or I can just make a short interjecting post?

I think it would be funny. Nilus stays quiet this whole time, only to be interrupted when he finally decides to speak. Sounds like a semi-comedic situation if you ask me.
Short answer: Go for it! (just be sure to mention interrupting him a second time for laughs )

Guys, don't wait on me to post. I can't seem to find the time right now. Next week should be less hectic (no presentation, no Mom holiday, no after-midterm withdrawls)

All those who shall be in attendance to the Council of Obligatory Crushing Kewlness(ie, Evil) must be on the look out for the thread title "Chapter One: Kamon'Belkar" for the council is being held within that lovely spire the Tynir call home.
I believe HD and Buzzwulf are the only other two members that are in attendance. If someonelse has some evil to contribute to this dark gathering, drop me or Raptor a PM, and we'll try and work something out.
Oh, and I'll try, try, try, try to get a post for the council in here for you Deadeye. I'm sorry you have to wait on my lazy butt. *Hides face in shame*

Boyd's clan is 'good', I believe. While the other two clans aren't exactly fond of his clan, or any other clans for that matter. So, they're coming to be part of the dark side. Cause we have cookies, and chicks dig black.

Re: Emoria: OOC
I'm creating a post at the moment. There's no telling when it will be completed other than before I go to bed, but I have something to say.
I want to apologize to anyone with whom I have story lines because after the Council session is complete, I'm not sure that I want to be a part of Emoria any more. There are too many inconsistencies despite approved material, and it's really beginning wear on me. I'm not going to say what they are because I don't want to point fingers or place blame. I just don't want to lie and say, "Oh... I'm just not feeling it any more." because there's a chance I'll join different games soon after relieving myself of this one.
I'll finish what I've begun with the Council, but once it's over, I'm going to leave.
I apologize for seeming fickle, one moment saying that I'd be happy to be a GM with another if Ryona ever had to leave only to decide that I really want to leave. At least I discovered this before making that true commitment.

Just saying there are inconsistencies isn't really helping. I am sure no one wants major inconsistencies in this story. On the other hand, it is difficult to run a story with so many different countries, histories and back stories and remember every detail.
I would love you to reconsider. However, no one can really change anything if we don't know what is wrong.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Facts are that they're really only things that seem to affect me. No one else is really affected, and I don't care to start arguments over things that don't matter for others. It's much easier for me to simply leave after the council, and it's a better decision for my emotional well-being. I don't want to be in a game that causes me stress every few days over things that just keep building and building.

Re: Emoria: OOC
I hope this doesn't sound harsh, but I think it's only stressful if you let it be. We all knew inconsistencies were part of the package when we signed up for this thing. With so many people, it is unavoidable.
Whatever inconsistencies there are (I'm behind reading some of the recent posts), I'm sure it's as simple as ignorance or a slip of memory. I'm sure we're all willing to edit if we make mistakes. For instance, I even deleted a whole post of mine recently. ^^
Why not petition a new policy, if you feel that things are getting out of hand?
It seems to me a better solution than leaving. It's not as if you're alone in your efforts to maintain continuity. And it's a worthy cause. It's not as if you have to be GM, either, if that'd be another source of stress. We could ask Bird of Hermes or myself (as a last resort, please). I hope you reconsider.
Edit:
Of course, the other side of the coin is that the library may not feature so prominently after this. We might not see Saila again very much in the story, unless she goes with someone or does important plot things. Maybe her part in the story is finished after all....

Re: Emoria: OOC
I figured that removing Saila would be quite simplistic. My thought was that she would simply stay behind while others did the galumphing. The only stories that were established with her were that she and Jean are friendly adversaries, and she and Saint have a history. There's really no future planned, so any potential story lines won't suffer.
Though... Danger had said something about a planned story line that he won't tell me because he doesn't want to reveal things about his character, I just can't foresee a future with her in that, either. It seems kind of unlikely for the half elf with a stick up her rump to have a foreseeable future in interactions and major story with the loose, rowdy pirate.
Honestly, the last "straw" of sorts that I noticed caused me stress until I stopped caring... about the role play in general, and it just seems better for me to maintain my apathy than to allow future inconsistencies to bother me. As a negative side to that apathy, I won't be able to enjoy the role play as much as I should.
Raptor and I already decided grim future of the Sretin Providences. That land would have been magick-bombed with a few groups of survivors, many of whom would be injured. Sentries would have been posted around the borders with orders to kill any Breale on sight. As time passed, many sentries were relieved of duty, but there would still be others there.
As far as the land of Taure Arda goes, I don't care what happens to it. It will always be my creation, but I don't care about it's future in Emoria. I feel the same about Nolwe Osto and the Great Library.
Do what you will with Saila once the Council is complete. Let her stay home, or let her go and be killed, or let her stay home and be killed. I'm fine with anything. I just want to finish the Council and wash my hands of Emoria.

On the contrary, it is only as stressful as everyone lets it be. What do you think caused Silvone to give up in the first place? To come to a place originally created for enjoyment, and to be met with only demands and accusations, has completely ruined not only this role play but this website. The stubborness and inability to truly collaborate has made me all but lose hope. But I won't give up until it is dead. However, I cannot blame you, Kathryn, for doing so. My not posting, apart from being very busy, was that I could not possibly consider trying to meet the demands that have been placed on me for a role play. This is the internet, this is a hobby, and if I am not having fun you bet your ass I am going to drop it like a hot rock.
This is something for those who want this role play to continue to consider.
I'm still here for those who want this to continue, but I won't be heartbroken if you want to give up. After this role play is finished, I will be leaving FOG. I will soon be out of school and when I get my own place I likely wont bother paying for internet, so I will need to let go sooner or later.

Alright, then we stand at a crossroads. Do we let this fade off? Or do we attempt to salvage it?
I'm not going to cast a vote just yet, as I'm unsure. Let's pick folks.

Well, Ryona said she's going to be here for Emoria for as long as she can, and if she can't, others are willing to take the reins as GM's. I see no reason why you should let this fade when so many people are still so dedicated.

But my thoughts are is it truely fair to make her stay with something she's not happy with? (which is an assumpition, forgive me if that's not correct, that's just what I'm seeing in the message)

It comes and goes Plague. I take breaks when I am angry, I cool off, I come back. I can keep doing that for as long as I have the internet, and that is as long as I live where I am at. I will be here for those who need me to, as will Silvone. Just not as often as you guys may like.

At the end of the day, I think you need to be happy with it, and if you are just getting frustrated needlessly by this, then I encourage you to cut this. Drop it like a sack of potatoes. I won't say what motivates you to stay, because I don't know, and I won't pretend to. If it's because you helped create and craft a massive part of it, I'd say don't let it tie you down.

Re: Emoria: OOC
All of a sudden it's "Silvone quit because of the stress"? That's the first I've heard about it. According to him, he's leaving because of things going on in real life.
When did this project supposedly go from fun to stress? Am I missing something? I'm seeing a lot of strong feelings that shouldn't be there. What's wrong with you? (That's an ambiguous 'you'.) Buck up and think of the solution, not the problem.
Stress is not what 'everyone' makes it. Each person is responsible for their part, yes, but each person also has the choice of how to respond. If you blame arguments on other people, that again is thinking of the problem rather than the solution.
Are these presuppositions not true for all of us?
If any of those are untrue for anyone involved this project, they should change that or leave.
If all of those are true for anyone in this project, then there really shouldn't be complaints of stress or arguments floating around. It's only a stress-pit if you call it one. You can choose to see it that way, or you can choose to see it as an opportunity to see something through. We all know it will be worth it, so let's do it! No more drama.
Please challenge my presuppositions if they are inaccurate. Otherwise, let's start thinking of the solution. Not the easy way out.

- We are all here to create a quality story.
- We all want to have a good time doing it.
- We want to preserve continuity in the story, so there's no confusion for people reading it -- and so the plotlines won't be messed up or people's creations tampered with.
- We are willing to work together to solve problems.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Uh, Kalon, which of us is married to Silvone? Real life struggles is what makes us drop less important ones, such as a role play. Also, Silvone doesn't need to tell you all the innerworkings of his decisions, so yes, this may be the first you've heard about it. You also do not read the PM's that Silvone and I get from various members of this role play, therefore do not see the stress that the creators do. That is why we have them in PM's, so that everyone else may go along thinking that everything is quite alright.
You have no idea what my personal life is like. I've got my priorites straight, and Emoria is last on the list.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Kalon, the fact that Saila ceases to be a major character once the Council ends means that it's not a big deal if I leave. Maybe my leaving will help shrink the game, and enable people to have a game that works a little better. Maybe the massive size of it is stress enough?
I know my reasons for leaving, and I've thought about this for a while. I've also discussed it with my boyfriend to get a second opinion. I'm perfectly fine with leaving. I don't want to feel pressured into staying in a game that doesn't bring me as much happiness as the idea of the game did. The fact that I'm staying until the end of the Council is enough.
If I'm going to be in a role play, I want to be happy with more than just the idea of it. I want to be happy with the actual game-play, too.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Silvone and Ryona have been getting nasty PM's? What? If it was so much stress for Silvone and Ryona, why is this coming out now, at the breaking point?
I propose we make a new Emoria thread for continuity challenges.
Alrighty then, I guess it's like Plauge said. Let's redefine our commitments. I know I'm still onboard. I just don't like being the last man standing. -_- I'd still rather not be GM if I can avoid it. Probably the Hermes/Shadow/me thing, I hope, if it comes to that.
Let's nail this down. Where is everybody at?
Who's having fun, who's stressed out, and why?
I guess I'll start with me. I'm still having fun because the story is going, and it's great to see new things about the various characters and cultures. I'm not feeling any stress at all concerning Emoria -- at least not of any significance. I am concerned that others are and apparently have been, and if the situation can't be reversed, I hope at least to see that peace is made. And I'm interested in seeing who still wants to continue.
