Star Wars: The Underground
I'm starting to brew an idea for a Star Wars RP. I figure this site needs one and it is my honor to make one. I just finished a character sheet for the person I plan to use, so feel free to check it out.
I don't have a whole lot of things planned out, mainly because I don't really care for a set story line from the get go, but I do have an idea of what I want the RP to be about. I know it will take place after the Empire has been defeated, and I also know that I want the RP to start in a cantina on Coruscant.
This RP will probably focus on mercenaries, bounty hunters, dark Jedi, and Remnant forces. I just wanted to see who all might be interested so I can further develop my idea.

You've been seconded, Lucian. I think that's a great idea! Star Wars has always been a favorite of mine, but I've not had the chance to actually do too man RPs in the genre. It's kind of hard to, though, what with all of the EU (Extended Universe) out there to contradict anything you say XD

I would certainly be interested in joining this but I fear I would hold you up since I can't promise a post until after the 8th.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
(Oh, I know it, Gunneh! It's so hard keeping up with it all.)
I am definitely interested in this, though if I can, I may wish to join in later and not from the very start, as I still have to think up characters (which is important, since I'd like to use my main character as my main for when Star Wars the Old Republic MMO comes out... Ah, so far away.).
In the year 25 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin), the Yuuzahan Vong War begins, as they invade the galaxy, and in the year 27, they conquer Coruscant, renaming it for their dead home planet, Yuuzhan'tar.
The year that is current for my old Star Wars character is 28 ABY. I'm not sure what year you want this to be, but I'd definitely recommend taking a look at that timeline link from Wikipedia, which should help a lot.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
Actually..... I hate to say this but I don't think I'm going to play by all the EU stuff. Like Gun said, there's too much to keep up with and if your not EXTREMELY careful, you'll mess up something from one of the books.
So, I was just thinking to pick things up where Episode 6 left off. All the other stuff won't really be a factor in this RP. It's just for fun, we won't be doing a fanfic or anything like that guys.

Maybe not bullshit, but as much as I love Star Wars I really haven't gotten into all the EU stuff No time, too much stuff. So this is actually right up my alley! Unfortunately I'm really not going to be able to post frequently starting in a week for about two months, so I'd have to come in later if I did.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
It would probably be better if they just went ahead and made movies about the EU. xD I honestly don't know anything about it, minus what I've read from the Wiki timeline lol.
So, that's cool with me. I think I am going to go ahead and create a SW character that can be used in any time period for any Star Wars role-play.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
I am similarly blank when it comes to the EU stuff!
I'll have to watch the films again though, just as a reminder!

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
Well I'm glad no one here is one of the super nerds that would ridicule me endlessly for speaking out against the EU stuff.
I've got a pretty good idea brewing, so if everyone could get some characters up that would be cool. Once I get a feel for every one's characters, I'll be able to cook up some stuff. I just hope not everyone wants to be a Jedi >.<

The Jedi are stagnant fools.
Well, my character is most likely going to be a Nautolan (is that how you write it? Anyway, what Kit Fisto was), a self-taught Force-using criminal with a stolen lightsaber. Booyah.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
I don't mind a couple force users, I just don't want everyone in the whole RP using it because it would take away from the significance of it.
Besides, there's a whole lot more races and professions that one can be in the Star Wars Universe. Be warned though, if you play a Twi'Lek you will be raped by my character.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
My character is going to be a medic for the Galactic Republic. :3
LOL! I usually play Twi'Leks in Star Wars games. They be purty.
EDIT: I'm working on my character, but I still have her bio left to do. Here she is so far:

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
SW has always been an interest of mine. I'm planning on keeping an eye on the thread, though also prefer to stay back a bit and come in later, due to my curiosity on the storyline.
I'm probably going to create a force user of some sort, though. If not, probably someone of bounty hunting status... i dunno. hah

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
One minor correction Fate, since this RP will take place ABY it's referred to as The New Republic
Anyone that's interested in joining should start working on characters. That's the main thing I'm waiting for as far as a story line goes. Remember, I like to play by ear and be 'unscripted' in my RPs. I do however know that the story will take off with my character going on a job. During this job, he'll probably run into a few of your characters, chaos could happen, and they all end up on Galik's Ship.
That's about as much as I have planned for now that's concrete. If anyone has any ideas feel free to share.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
I was thinking about that, actually, Lu. Since this is my universal character, able to jump in to any Star Wars role-play in any time period, I wasn't sure what to put, but I think I'll just put both Galactic and New Republic in there, depending on the role-play.
That sounds good to me. The cantinas are always a fun place to be too. I loved those back in Star Wars Galaxies. Ahh, those were the days... *eyes glaze over*
It would be neat if you decided to pop in later on, Spectre.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
Ah, a Star Wars RP. I'm interested, of course, and I'm about to work on a character. Just a quick outline, it'll be a Dark Jedi who fled the Empire after the first Death Star was blowed up because he knew they were growing too dependent on it. He won't really be evil, he only left the Jedi because they had too many restrictions to get things done.
Re: Star Wars: The Underground
Looks interesting, but I won't be able to post from sunday to sunday next week so I might come in later.
But I love EU, (as long as it's BBY, that's where all the cool stuff happened.) but I guess I can handle ABY.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
XP EU is just harder to follow, obviously, because of the lackage of films haha. Seriously. I REALLY hope they make more Star Wars movies! I'd love to see like The Old Republic made into a movie or the Jedi Academy! That'd be sweet. I'd be so happy.
*ahem* Anywho.

...Darth Maul survives. If that isn't enough to make all of it bullshit, I don't know what it takes. D:

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
Darth Maul get's cut in half and lives, but he just fell down a shaft. Anakin get's his lower body cut off and then he BURNS and lives.
I don't see how EU is bad but what takes place in the movies isn't. I bet if we got movies of the Old Republic Era then people would be sitting here saying,
"Wait, jedi-turned-sith gets his lower half cut off by his former master, left on a planet of Lava, is saved by the emperor/Sith Lord and he LIVES? Not only that but he get's a robot android body and his SON who he didn't know was alive except for a little while ago ends up trying to kill him but instead, "Vader" switches sides and throws the Sith Lord into a service shaft? Then everything blows up? WTF! Calling bullshit on that one."
It's all about perspective. The whole Anakin/Luke deal was made into movies because that was when the most change was going on in the shortest amount of time in history.

I'll see what character I can make. Though I am currently busy with a lot of RP's ATM.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
That doesn't make much sense. I mean, Yeah, Darth Vader is Darth Vader. and Darth Maul is Darth Maul. Doesn't make much difference to me.
Please though, this isn't a EU discussion thread. Let's get back on topic.

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
Indeed, and the topic will get back on track starting now. I've put some thought in the force users, and have come to the decision that it will be okay to have multiples so long as there is a master/apprentice thing going on between them. So Mez, if your going to use a force user you might want to talk to Hank and see if you two can work something out along those lines. I'd also be open to meeting up with a force user and taking them under my wing.
Anywho, be sure to get those character sheets in and I'll let you guys know if I come up with any more ideas for the storyline.

That'd be sweet. Would that be the first occurrence of a master-apprentice relationship outside of both Sith and Jedi rules?

Re: Star Wars: The Underground
Not really. In the game I just finished playing, Jedi Knight 2, Jedi Outcast, the main bad guy was a Dark Jedi named Dessan, and he had an apprentice, Tavion. It's not necessarily an actual apprenticeship, but there's nothing wrong with a more experienced Jedi helping out someone that has force abilities. After all, when it boils down to it all a master and apprentice are are comrades that help one another. One just happens to know more than the other.
