Nice post, Digital Muse! I love how you're exploring Raewyn's inner turmoil over being caught between the two groups and her feelings about both. It really adds a deeper level to her character and shows that she's not just a spoiled, ignorant child - she's intelligent and capable of weighing the pros and cons of her situation and then making decisions based on that information.

Just an update: I've been chipping away at the next post, but I've either been studying for an exam, preparing Takun for his exam, or reading a book that I've gotten caught up with for this week that kept me distracted. I certainly haven't forgotten about this RP, especially since it is looking like it could go the distance. Which is a good thing, because I have a few potential sequels that are in the planning stages. Wink

I've already planned out the key events with this RP and we still have a good amount of story to go before the end of it. As of now, we are wrapping up the third chapter out of a seven to eight chapter story, and let me tell you, I have a whole bag of surprises, twists, and adventure that I am itching to throw into the mix at their appointed times. Excited

Chapters five and six are going to be especially epic and I almost can't contain my eagerness to get to them.

I hope you all are eager to see what I have in store for you. From the amount of effort you all have been putting into this RP, I'm thinking that is very much the case. Very Happy

@ Silvan - I assumed that Eri would protest to Loki's role in this plan. If that is incorrect, let me know and I'll change it.

@ Everybody - This next round of posts will get everybody into position while observing the enemy formation. Like I mentioned, they are under control of the group once the battle begins.

Assuming I have an accurate idea of James' plan (Jake is to mow down a swath of trees to make a clearing yes?), here is how the mercenaries will respond:

Initial Formation:
Viemera – The Essence of Deceit [OOC] [Closed] - Page 8 Formation

The lead group will become suspicious about the clearing and will be alert as they travel through it acting as a lure. The second center group split, group up with the riflemen, move closer to the rest of the group, and travel a few yards outside of the cleared strip. The forward wings will maintain position traveling furthest away from the clearing and sweeping for movement in the underbrush.

Even though they are alert, it doesn't mean that they have to discover you as they get near... Unless you're Jake and get bored as he waits for them to get close rather than charge head on. Razz

Be sure to have fun with this, bonus points for corresponding posts in the form of coordinated attacks. Aww

@Loki: That's totally fine. Eri would definitely oppose using him as bait, especially now that her newly-discovered protective instincts are starting to kick in ^_^

I'll try to get up a post as soon as possible. I may or may not be able to start one tonight, and I'll be busy all day tomorrow. Hopefully Wednesday at the latest?

EDIT: It turns out that I really can write RP posts while watching Dancing with the Stars with chatty friends and drinking Mike's Hard Raspberry Lemonade. Whether it's actually decent or not remains to be determined. Enjoy!

I'll likely have a good amount of free time after this week and would like to continue with this RP.

Sunwolf, if you need more time, please let me know. This post is more of a bump to let everybody know that I haven't forgotten about this RP and to reassure everybody that it isn't dying.

If it is possible for Muse and Sunwolf to get a post up sometime before next week, it would be great. If your schedules are too packed to do so, then don't sweat it. Just let me know when your schedules are likely to free up so I can get a rough timeline in mind.

Well, my big bad 7 page paper was turned in today so sometime tomorrow or Wednesday I should be able to get a post up while working on yet another paper but one that isn't so intense. Don't worry I haven't forgotten about this RP either. Just been busy.

Edit: Working on post but got pulled away by plans for tonight. Will finish Wed.

Edit 2: Tried to make up for my slow down by starting up the action. And by the way Owen/James did unknowingly 'heal' Loki so he can participate. He doesn't know what he can do yet so his abilities activate on their own for now.

I was wondering that too. I was hoping a couple of swordsmen would be left for Eri. I have an idea for part of her fight scene that requires at least two swordsmen still alive and kicking. I'll get up a post either tonight or tomorrow (probably tomorrow - I'm exhausted).

As far as I know:

James = 1 swordsman, 1 axeman
Jake = 2 pistolmen, 1 swordsman
Leaving = 2 swordsmen, 1 axeman, and 2 riflemen.

I think that's accurate.

Eri's tally comes to 2 swordsmen and 1 axeman. I was originally going to leave the axeman for someone else, but it seemed kind of awkward to leave one last close-range fighter just standing in the clearing while Jake and Eri are both hiding behind bunkers and Tsume is sneaking around looking for the gunmen. If that poses a problem for anyone, I'll gladly change it.

Edit: I fixed something in my post that was bothering me but didn't change any type of major event. I just figured when you are laying on a rifle it would not be comfortable. Anyway can't wait to see the next round of posts.

Thanks guys! Tried to show the different effects of his new ability and show how devoted he is to the Goddess. I thought it turned out alright. I guess it was better than I thought Laughing

. I can't wait for the next round. I think we can get it started without Loki but I don't know (as I am a bit drunk right now because as per family tradition I took my mom out for a late mother's day dinner and we drank per the family tradition). Anyway I think a few of us are ok to post without cutting Loki out of the story. Well maybe only DM but I think we should continue as much as we can before Loki gets back to show our dedication (Just my drunk thinking).

I do appreciate the initiative and will be more than delighted to see what sort of post-combat interactions take place.

For now, assume Tsume disbatched the two riflemen and Loki will remain unconscious. I believe that all enemies have been dealt with, if I missed any, just assume they retreated unless somebody wanted to finish him off as he does so.

I'll also give you all permission to exercise limited control over Tsume as long as his actions are within character. If there is something he does that I feel could interfere with my plans for the storyline, I may ask for a revision to be made, but will still encourage your creativity.

Have fun while I'm gone and I will be looking forward to what you come up with.
