I'll avoid whether that is right or wrong and just say I'm glad you love it. If your husband ever joins FOG I'll make a matching set heart

I think that proposition was the most disappointing thing I have ever seen in California (followed closely by the educational system). I tried hard to sway the opinions of the people around me, but I failed miserably. Where I work, I think I'm only one of two people who voted no on the proposition, if the rest bothered voting at all.

I even write a short little something that I posted up on myspace, but it is rather offensive so I'm sure it didn't help any (in fact, I think it made my sister cry).

Anyway, we are glad to have you here! Enjoy your time role-playing and interacting with the great community we have here at FOG!

Ouch! It has to be hard when your own parents can't accept you for what you are. Despite all the hardships and troubles I had growing up, and watching my family fall apart, I've never had to deal with them not loving or accepting me. So I can't really say I know how you feel. But I definitely don't agree with it.

At least, from what I can tell of you so far, you don't try to hide who you are because of the indecencies of others! Congrats for that! I'm sure someday things will turn around, and you can live a more open life. You know, when California is under water and all the bigots refuse to lose their property and go with it.

Oh...my apologies then. I didn't understand the extent of the feelings on the matter from what you said before.

And if you don't like the ocean, you definitely should move. It's all California has going for it...

No worries, and I want to move, but no money and all my family being here makes it difficult. Hubby wants to move to another state, but I don't want to be that far away from my family.

Heh...my wife and I are having the same issue. I want to move away so badly, but we can't because my wife doesn't want to leave her family. And I can't blame her. They have been our entire support system since we got married and had our son. Even before. It would be wrong of us to just pick up and leave.

Post by Eternity Wed Sep 16, 2009 9:39 pm

I know the feeling. I'm only a kid, I know. But I am wanting to move away. At the moment I live in a small town where drama seems to bubble about. You know what they say about small towns; rumors spread fast. Everyone knows everyone's business, and I'm tired of being known by the mistakes of my family. There is too much in this place that I cannot keep clinging too. My mother who has been here for me all my life is now with a wonderful man who I believe may just marry her. Other than her, my grandparents on my father's side are the only others I'd missed. My father practically disowned me after I dated a black guy, and my other family is just so distant, and they don't really seem to keep in touch with me.

My boyfriend is putting for an apartment for me and our friends Ev and Kosuke, and when I graduate in May, I'll probably be going on the big road trip up north a few states away to live with him and my friends there. I think of it like a new beginning, and getting away from this small town and its constantly festering bullshit.

Hahaha, did I just rant?

Post by Weiss Wed Sep 16, 2009 10:41 pm

I'm always the last one to welcome the new people. I need to remember, more often, that this forum exists. Oi vey...

Anyway, I apologize I wasn't here to jump on the sig-making thing, but it seems Ryona has done a very nice job of covering it, so I guess that's not a problem.

I would also like to be another person to say: hell yes! You have my full support, and I hope to whatever powers be that anyone who opposes love based on superficial bias gets tarred, feathered, shot and then hanged. That may be a little harsh, but whatever; I'm sure you get my point. Well, I guess I could just hope that they become enlightened and realize how stupid it is to oppose homosexuality, but...eh, I'm a drastic person.

Anyway...I hereby welcome you to the site! I hope you find a lot of exciting and inspirational roleplays here, and I further hope that we can cater to your intellectual needs outside of roleplay, as well.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. Weiss, out of curiosity, I would love to see what you would make for me, but as I probably wouldn't use it (until i feel like a change...), I would hate for you to waste your very valuable time on it. Still, if you have ideas and time, I would definitely save it, if only for to look at on cold lonely nights.

My heart will not be broken should you chose a Weisstastic signature set over my own. ^_^

Also, upon closer inspection, I realize I did not explain myself very well when I told you I understand your situation. If you haven't figured it out, I'm the wife that Silvone Elestahr is referring to, and that is why I know what you are going through. (Sometimes I get lost in the details...) I'm that anchor, hooked on family and holding us down in California...Sweat Drop

Well, I think Ryona did quite a nice job on your current set, so I don't think I need to make one just yet. However, when you feel like a change somewhere down the line, you can drop by my thread at that point and throw some images at me, and I'll see what I can whip up then.

Besides, I don't want your husband getting jealous when you start neglecting him in favor of my set. No

Roleplay Delivered Crain Style - Page 2 Empty Re: Roleplay Delivered Crain Style

Post by Kathryn Lacey Sun Sep 20, 2009 2:21 am

Argh! So... I get email notifications for when people post in the Introductions forum, but apparently when someone posted something here that got moved to another forum, I missed the introductions that had been made around that time.

You and I have already met through the PM you sent me, but I wanted to give you a genuine, direct welcome right here in your very own thread!

I will admit that I was a bit baffled when you messaged me, but I didn't mind, and I was flattered that I had drawn your interest. Of course, I know that my set-up that was made for me by Fate Foretold is the one to which you referred earlier in this thread, but I've already told you that it's not really supposed to be Katara though the images were made to originally be her. =3

Anyway! I'm glad Ryona was able to make you a beautiful set-up. My mother used to love elephants, and she would collect figurines and the like. However,s he would only choose them if their trunks were lifted the way it is in your signature because that's supposed to be good luck like rubbing Buddah's belly. ^^_^^

Are you and your lover actually legally married, or do you just consider yourselves to be married? I'm just curious because I know about the whole Proposition 8 bullshit that went through in California, but I also know there are other states ((like Iowa where I live!)) that have legalized the marriage between two people of the same gender. OH! If you're not officially married, you should come to Iowa and do eet! XD

I'm probably more in line with the mentality of your hubby in that I'm not very family oriented at all, so I really can never understand why it would be so hard for you to move away from your family.

With me, I was raised by my mom, her father and her mother. The three of them raised me right alongside my older brother. I was never very close with my two youngest brothers who were born when my mom hooked up with my step-father. I didn't meet my biological father until I was fourteen, either. Well, my older brother, my grandfather, and my mother have all passed away within the last four years, so you can understand why I don't have very close familial ties. I live with my grandmother at least, and my step-mom is doing her best to keep me and my dad together. It's not that I don't get along with my father, it's just that I've only known him for a little over five years, so yeah.

I hope that one day you'll figure out what to do to make yourself and your hubby happy without feeling like you're disconnecting yourself from your family. One piece of advice I will give is that just because you move away from your family doesn't mean you can't visit them and keep in contact. In this age of technology, there are all sorts of ways to maintain communication. :: hugs ::

Also, I wanted to say that I wasn't sure what to think of you through our PM's. I assure you I never thought to dislike you, I just wasn't really sure of your personality, but by reading through this thread, I really do think I like you, and I believe we'll get along swimmingly.

YAY!! I love to be liked!

And yes, we are legally and officially married, with the papers and everything.

I also collect elephants, but I don't buy them for myself, most of the time. I have figurines made from cheapo plastic =from the Dollar Tree, a beautiful box with a brass/copper/metal elephant on the outside, a wooden carved elephant got after my Grandpa passed away...they are all throughout my home.

As for family, I think the worst thing is that I don't drive, so if I move away, It not like I can take a week or so, drive home and visit. And my immediate family is all I have, so I cling, a bit.

Well i am so glad you found my thread, and i look forward to hearing from you again!

Most people crave affection. I'm not surprised to find that you, like me, are one of them! ^^_^^

Aww. A friend of mine has a fascination with hippos the way you and my mom do/did with elephants. Like my mom, she really prefers hippos in a specific position: namely with their mouths yawning. She has little figurines, a stuffed hippo toy, and a hippo that holds toothbrushes in its back and toothpaste in its mouth. XD For myself, I love foxes, but I don't collect them. I was a fox-morph for Halloween 2007, and I have a fox bookmark, but that's about it. =3

Do you not drive by choice? Even if you don't drive often, I think it's still a good idea to get your license in case of an emergency.

LMAO, you and everyone else i know! I don't drive mostly because it scares me; just being in the car makes me nervous, being behind the wheel even more so. Also, I don't really multitask well, so all the observations you have to do while driving tax me to no end. Add that to the fact I have the reflexes of a slug, and you have a nervous and dangerous wreck behind the wheel. To top it all off, the sun blinds me and I have no night vision.

I'm gonna be walking for life...
