Songs of the Blind Symphony
The Eventide Lullaby
Hello, this is Eternity here, and I'm going to give a little explanation of these first.
These are songs, written to be sung in a soft opera tone by my character Estelle, who sings and plays the violin. All of her songs are written by me, and tell stories of her life.
-Now the hardest thing about this is, that in writing you cannot hear the rhythm, and in opera based songs, a lot of time it is more like speaking instead of actual song. So that is important to keep in mind, that she is telling a story.
Here is the first.
Guardian Of the Night
(v1)
It wasn't right.
It wasn't fair.
I had the life
but I wasn't there.
(v2)
It wasn't right.
It'll never be fair.
You always wanted
to keep me there!
(pre-chorus)
I should've known
I should've known!
I turned my head
and you were gone,
but to play my song,
and you were there-
(pre-chorus 2)
Breathing down my neck
fingers on my chest.
I cannot escape
this hate.
It's not right for me.
I've no sight to see- -
(choral verse)
My guardian
of
the
Night.
(v3)
Twist me...
Turn me...
Break me,
Hate me...
(v4)
Obstruct this life...
This lullaby...
The eventide,
that haunts my eyes!
(pre-chorus)
I should've known...
I should've known...
I turned my head,
and you were... gone.
But to my play my song,
you'd be there...
(pre-chorus 2)
Breathing on my neck,
hands upon my chest...
I cannot escape,
this fate...
It's not right for me.
I've no sight to see...
(choral verse)
My guardian..
of the...
night...
