I complain that it's, like, the hottest weekend of the summer so far, and we're going camping. >.>
I also complain that I can't go in the water, and we'll be going to the beach.

I complain that if I had been asked to work today yesterday, I would have taken it, but they called me to ask me while I was in the middle of sleeping, so I said no... ._.

Yeah, I know what that is like. It is impossible for me to get motivated to do anything while I'm sleeping. Even if I am nearing my 10th hour of sleep, I have the tendency to open my eyes and be just about ready to get up, but then I blink and suddenly it is an hour later... I Sleep

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
Alright, I have the biggest complaint of them all.
I studied.
Seriously, I did. Hell, the grade wasn't even that bad for a closed-book, but out of the 340 questions I repeatedly studied and the 200 or so big pages of history I examined, only a scant margin of those were actually asked or even worded properly. I got an 80, but it could have been better.
No, but the scathe, the insult to the injury, came with the project's grade. A 67 - which, by Nebraska University standards, is an F - in a test that has to do with creative writing and research is simply... discouraging. I want to believe that it wasn't that I screwed up but rather that I merely did not fulfill the expectations of my teachers, but of course that would be arrogance. I want to say that I followed the instructions word for word, which I believe to have done except for the misinterpretation of one itsy bitsy sentence.
Well, this is grossly depressing. As a matter of fact, I was going to enter the FOG Writing contest and was going to plot out my story today and submit it, but after this I simply do not feel inspired in the least.

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
While I know what it's like to get a not-so-awesome grade and feel the deep tug of - well, anxiety, almost - in this case, you should definitely not let it be an indication of your ability. How can there be an objective test on creative writing? There are just so many unorthodox styles, like The Grapes of Wrath and A Clockwork Orange that don't always play by the rules. I'm sure you're an awesome writer, and if you pretty much followed the directions, it's just...something didn't mesh, you know? Providence - in the form of a professor xD - just wasn't on your side, it seems, because what else could it be? Ask yourself if you really feel that your performance should actually result in a dereliction of your creative writing either temporarily or forever, and if your answer is yes, I'm here to tell you that the answer is no. Now go plot your story or risk depriving the world.

I suddenly hate my life...
I have been working with my bf who lives in New Hampshire for two weeks so that he can come down here and be with me for a while, and everything was perfect. He was coming down today...
In Massachusetts, his car broke down. And now he has to go back home, because he can't make it down here, 700 miles away, on a busted up shit-box on wheels...
And I just want to disappear...

Ohh, nooo... Eternity, I'm so sorry. That is horrible! I can't believe that his car just had to brake down right now. *holds you* I'm very sorry, hun. That would be so disappointing and frustrating.
Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
First, Ren, thank you for your words. I realize, but unfortunately unique skill will not earn me the cold, academic grade I require. Part of learning is that sometimes you gotta learn it their way. Thank you, though.
And, Eternity, I will claim that simply because circumstance are against your interest does not mean nothing is going to work out. If there is something I have come to learn, it is that everything has a reason for happening, everything has a purpose, and everything works out in the end. It's a bit of tough love, so I will soften it and say that you have my sympathy and comfort <: ) Do not depreciate yourself, for once you do, the real wreck happens.

I was looking forward to calling a friend and hanging out with her today, but she's not home.
I asked her sister to have her call me back if she shows up at her house. Hopefully if she does, it won't be too late in the day, since I've got rehearsal tonight.

Ugh... I guess my streaks of staying inside during the summer ruined my skin tanning rule. Usually, I only burn once, and I only tan for the rest of the time. I burned slightly Saturday, and I burned a lot more today. Ugh... I hope it doesn't peel.

My mom was getting on my case today about how I didn't do as good in college last semester as I did in high school. ):< I oh-so-kindly informed her of the differences between the two, and then added in the fact that I didn't get on the dean's list just because of one C that I got in a class where the teacher said no one would get any higher.
Bah. Can't wait to go back to school.

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
This forum appears to be getting off to a decent start. At least by now.
My complaint is that I'm roleplaying with half a dozen people, and it seems that all have minimal interest or haven't replied at all. XD
I'm sure it's just a fluke, but it's causing inspiration clot.

Thanks, Zelda. :] We've had a lot of good fortune so far, and I've been so grateful.
I'm sorry that you're battling that lack of interest right now. I've experienced that in the past as well. Usually, what happens in my case, is I'll read something or see something, and it will inspire me to really start getting into writing again and replying to things. Hope you manage to work it out!

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
It actually is as easy as people think. It's just hurty at the same time.
I wrote a short story on the backs of two of these scraps of paper we give to people when they want something on sale of which we're lacking. Like... if a gallon of milk is on sale, and all of the ones on sale are bought, we give people who didn't get them on sale a raincheck that expires in exactly one month. It's pretty rad.
Anyway, my story was about a cashier ((me)) whose mortal enemies were an unbeatable duo who went by the names of Time and Boredom and her battles against them. That story was written before my feet were hurting, or I probably would have written about a third bad-guy named Foot-Ache.

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
I suppose if all you're doing is cashiering, then that would be pretty easy. I worked in the lumber department at a hardware store, and therefore I was required to learn all the types of wood there (since I had to find them in "the grid" on the computer, since obviously you can't scan wood), in addition to mopping, vacuuming, cleaning the toilets, and helping customers find their way around the store. >.< I hated it with a fiery passion, lol.
Lol that's adorable. You should share it with us here.

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
I left it there in case the next person on that register got bored... They could read the story if they can focus on the super-tiny chicken scratch. XD If it's still there tomorrow, I'll pocket it, but it probably won't be since I was on Express, and it only has so much space on the register. It will probably make its way to the trash.
