I somehow regret 'wasting' my time at RolePlayGateway, but then I don't cause Fate wouldn't have found and invited me. So something good came out of it, I'm just feeling a bit miffed that two rps I thoughtfully created bit the dust...because I've been through that in the past.

It's always more than disappointing to have something you thought out and planned fall through. It's understandable that it's aggravating to look back on, thinking of all the time and effort you devoted into it. I think the important thing to remember though is that you aren't alone, and that others have dealt with that same thing, and also that something good came out of you being a member at RolePlayGateway. Fate can be funny that way...

I could recreate them here, just the idea of having to go through the process in retyping everything. I could give it a try, or think about it a little more.

So I haven't the foggiest idea why, but the skin on my fingers is peeling. A lot. It started a few days ago around the edge of one of my fingernails, and then it happened again next to another nail the next day. Then it happened on the tip of one of my pinkies, and just now it happened out of nowhere to the finger immediately next to that. And I can see it starting again on one of the fingers that it happened to earlier, only lower down this time.

Moisturizer, perhaps? My fingertips, or at least the skin around the nails, start to crack during the winter, so I just use the neutrogena stuff with the norwegian flag on it to keep my fingers from doing that and my hands from drying out too badly in general.

My boss used to make fun ot it, but then I pointed out that he's balding. I'd rather have cracking hands than a receding hairline in my twenties.

My fingers have been dry too, Lara -- not my hands, but my fingers. I figured out why though. It's because I bite them. Well, not bite...but I have my hands at my mouth a lot when I'm working on the computer for some reason, and yeah... They're just there! XD I'm weird like that I guess. But it's made them dry. :< I doubt that's what happened in your case though.

Dude, I had an RP cut out from under me on a Star Wars board, and it literally killed my urge to RP in Star Wars stuff, or RP in general, for a while. The thing was, at first the guy was cool with what I was doing, but then had issues with what I was doing when the plot got popular and started drawing in people. It wasn't for any plot related issues or anything, but because of personal and control issues he had.

Basically, the board had a bunch of people running the show ICly who weren't playing very often, and they were keeping everyone else from RPing much. And these people, because they weren't writing on a regular basis, were sort of spending too much time playing politics and kind of stopping everyone else from moving forward until -they- were good and ready to.

They kept saying they were working on stuff and it never happened.

When he shut down the plot, he used an insulting excuse that really boiled my blood because it was a lie. Despite that, I left very quietly, mostly because I didn't want to make things difficult for friends there, but it was hard to really let go. I still maintain to this day that we had an awesome plot going and this guy was stopping it because of "Not Invented Here Syndrome" and ego issues.

It felt like a huge waste of time for me over there too, but in the end, it also firmed up my resolve to spend time writing and brainstorming alone, without other people providing input. In that respect, the exile period from RP, for me, was a very good thing.

But I know the pain of seeing something you work very hard on go to waste.

That's absolutely horrible, Heyseuss, and I could see why you were upset over that. That must have been very infuriating, and I'm sure you weren't the only one involved that was upset over it, seeing as it had gotten so popular.

It's truly a shame that people can let little things like that get to them so much that they ruin it for everyone else.

Well, it's in the past now. And these negative experiences (the board turned out to be a big negative) are learning experiences of the sort you don't learn when things go well. I'm sure a lot of us have those experiences, because RP on the internet is a rough place, and it's often hard to connect with like-minded folk.

Every RP I've ever been in has died. I've never seen the end of one. I'm not sure how an RP ends. Be it AWR, WoW Forums, RPGFO, wherever, it's died.

It's half a complaint and half a cause to celebrate, but I squished a spider about an hour ago. The celebrate part is because I squished it, but the complaint part is that it was on my leg when I accidentally killed it. Meaning it was hanging out on me and I didn't realize it (despite seeing/feeling something crawling around and thinking I was imagining it).
