Things To Do Before You Die
I was thinking about the things that I wanted to do before I die. (No, really Ine!? We couldn't tell!)
Now, there's the obvious. See the pyramids, go skydiving, get a sex change(just kidding. Or, am I?), ride a jet ski, go cave diving.
However, what about the odd an miscellaneous things? The things that don't occur to you when you're looking at the big picture? Like, dying your hair pink or learning how to ride a unicycle? So guys, I think we should make a list and discuss it here in the GD. Lets make a rather obscure list of things to do before you meet your maker.
Here's a few:
Get a street performing license and pretend to be a statue on a crowded street.
LARP, because I think every geek should try it once.
Spend the night in a infamously haunted house.

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
Lol this is a slightly morbid but awesomely amazing thread idea!
Spending the night in a haunted house and LARPing are two things I would also love to try too, actually. Haha, do you know how hilarious it would be to be one of those 'statues?' There was this really realistic one in Vegas that we saw, and it was impossible to tell if he was real or not unless he moved on purpose. I'd find it too hard not to laugh!
I really would absolutely love to go skydiving someday! I'll have to draw Tony/onenitedrive kicking and screaming I'm sure, but he's coming with me. I've just always had this deep fascination with wings and flying (I know, weird), so I'd definitely like to experience the closest thing I can to feeling that. Perhaps antigravity too? That'd be loads of fun.
I'd really also love to go horseback riding. I have done it shortly on a couple of occasions, but I'd really just love to get up on a horse and ride, like really ride! I want to feel in control of it (so it better be pretty broken-in, because the last horse I rode - onenitedrive's mom's horse - wouldn't obey me and kept eating grass instead, and I was sore for days after from trying to pull it's head up!). I just want to ride a running horse...preferably on a beach, because that cliche is something you just gotta experience firsthand.
I guess mainly what I want to do before I die is to travel to many different places around the world. I definitely want to go to New Zealand (if I for some reason am unable to for our honeymoon), and I also want to go to England, Scotland, Australia, Japan, and Italy, in addition to whatever else I could be able to fit in. If I could, I've visit every single country in the world, lol. If I were a celebrity with lots of money, that's what I'd be doing, 'cause seriously, who needs to blow money on multiples houses and partying? Let's go travel and gain some world experiences!

Something important. Whether it be a small or large gesture I want to know that I've left my mark on this world in some way.

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
It's funny because I've never really thought about this. My whole life kinda been one where I just roll with the punches I really never ever make plans for anything. But there are a few things I'd like to do before I die.
1. See an entire World Cup tournament. (I went to a few of the games in 94'.)
2. Backpack through Europe
3. See what kind of Grandkids Amanda and I have later in life.

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
lmao Thanks Sigh. The plan is for use to have 3 kids, so we should have plenty of chances to see grandkids in our lives. But that's looking to far into the future, like I said before I just roll with the punches. I hope we all get to see our grandkids. If you plan on having kids that is.
@Fudge. Of course I think it's people natural nomad instinct to want to see more of the world. Or maybe it's just all of us because we love to think and dream of other worlds.

I don't even know whether I want to marry a man or a woman let alone have kids. D: Then again, who I fall in love with isn't really for me to decide, it just happens.

OMG I know!
Oh, speaking of traps, here's another for the list.
Kiss(or even date) a tranny. I would love to date a tranny.

Now that's disturbing.
1) Watch an eclipse from orbit
2) Dress up like Optimus Prime and run around Tokyo
3) Dress up like a Storm Trooper and dance around Tokyo
4) Die by force-choke from Darth Vader ...
5) Touch MC Hammer!

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
Watching an eclipse from orbit would be pretty amazing. I would say that I've love to visit outer space before I die (huge dream!), but I don't know if that will be in the realm of possibility yet in my lifetime, unless I'd pay huge, ungodly amounts of money.
Re: Things To Do Before You Die
"Dominic-Bots, Transform and roll out!"
I have all my lines down, I'd transform into a toaster and then a Japanese woman would pick me up and run away.
I read an article somewhere where an old man payed his entire fortune of millions of dollars to be taken into orbit. I read it in the newspaper somewhere. If I start saving up three pennies a day, I may be able to afford it by the time I'm 109!

I read that a couple just got married in space. Now that totally kicks any other weddings ass.

I'd be too busy playing ping-pong in zero-gee to say "I do" ...
6)Climb Mount Everest, and come down on a trash can lid
7)Open an inter-dimensional rift
8)Make a better horror novel than Stephen King

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
1) Star in a horror movie as the villain
2) Flash the statue of Liberty
3) Drive to Chicago in the winter, get snow into a cooler, bring it back to Jersey.
That'd be one slow game of ping pong. Wonder how difficult it was to keep the dresses from flying up in zero G.

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
Hrm... This is an interesting thread. You guys should watch the movie Bucket List. This thread is essentially a list of and a discussion of bucket lists. ((Things to Do Before Kicking the Bucket))
1. Weigh 120 pounds
2. Win a costume contest ((hopefully that'll happen this October!))
3. Get married to the love of my life
4. Learn how to apply a full mask of make-up
5. Complete a roleplay
6. Write a good book
7. Voice act for something that's as awesome and as meaningful as Avatar: The Last Airbender
8. Skinny dip
9. Become a better person
10. Create a ripple-effect like in Pay It Forward
My desires are pretty simple, but they're also something I can eventually accomplish if I work at it.
I think we should all work toward accomplishing the things on our bucket lists. I'm already working toward winning that costume contest at work. ^^_^^

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
Oh, I don't have a bucket list, yet. But I've compiled a To-Do before turning 30 list a while ago, let's see...
it includes:
- Release a novel
- Bungee jumping and parachuting
- To badmouth a policeman
- To fly (in) a jet
- To do a LARP
- To have a threesome (with two wommenz, of course)
- Save someone's life
- To go hiking for several days
- To pull the emergency brake in a train
And quite some more.
God, If I need to compile a list until I die, it'll become HUGE...

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
witness a solar eclipse: done that
witness a lunar eclipse: done that
become fluent in a second language: guess you can call it fluent?
(And as a rule of thumb I only read english books, anymore)
@ Kathrin:
-Complete a roleplay: LOL. I was lucky to have actually participated in one that DID finish, although it's end was rather sudden, I'd have loved to play even further but the GM thought he'd rather close it off then, while there was still interest, before it died for the lack of it...
And writing a good book?
Well, I always want to write the best possible, so when I wrote "release a novel" I was never thinking that it COULD even be bad. ;P
I've got another 8 years and a bit to finish all of my list. Hmm, I should systematically tackle it.
So, who wants a threesome?

Re: Things To Do Before You Die
I'm not allowed to talk about my sexual escapades considering I'm underage.(Truthfully, 16 is the legal age of consent in my state so I'm totally allowed. However, I don't want to look like a whore! : D YAY FOR LEAVING OUT PARTS OF MY STORIES!) Anyway, I beat you on that one Kai.
I want to ride a horse before I turn thirty. I want to ride a horse sooooooo bad!!! I rode an elephant once. I wasn't the same thing.
I also would like to work for Marvel comics as either an artist or a writer. That's my dream, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I'd also like to dye my hair blond so that I can dye it green or pink. That'd be awsome. I've always wanted pink hair ever since I was nine. Some things just don't change with time.
