Hello,
I am Bob's fiance, and I've been role playing for about as long as Bob. I have only recently come out of role playing retirement because I believed that literate writers were no longer in existence on the internet. However, I missed the creative outlet, not many other places can you live out your fantasy of being a crazy elven bow woman! You can come across as a little crazy if you start pretending in public. Thus, I return to the role playing community, hopeful of a chance to role play something besides Harry Potter and Twilight knock offs.

Bob told me about how this place seemed to be the last place for literate and creative role players, so I am excited to get going. I already know Bob, obviously, and Jag. I hope to meet the rest of you soon!

A teensy bit about me:

I LOVE the fantasy genre, anything to do with the past really, from medieval to a 50's James Bond-esque type role play. I am generally not as interested in current times role plays, however I am open, same thing with sci-fi. However, there are exceptions to every rule and I am really wanting to expand my interests/abilities. I am hopeful that this site will clean off the rust and improve on what I have. I am a bit of a quirky goofball, just so you all know, it's just how I am. I can be phenomenally silly, just ask Bob, so if I come off as a little too silly, sorry in advance , just let me know and I will try to be the serious adult that I am on the inside. Well, maybe just on the outside I am an adult, my love of Hello Kitty and Spongebob kind of makes me a little less than adult on the inside, but I hope my love of the History Channel and Animal Planet cancels that out. Maybe, ish. I also ramble a bit, and I have ADD. I look forward to role playing with you all!

I did not intend to continue the theme really, but I am TERRIBLE at naming things , I generally say dumb stuff like 'do-hickey'. But eh, I love me some Star Wars, one thing I have never role played. Done zombies, more high school-ish ones than I would like, monsters, mutants, fantasy, but very little science fiction or apocalyptic or realism. Perhaps I should expand my horizons...

I am really relieved that everyone that has replied has seemed nice and helpful, I was a tad nervous to be honest. Silly, I am aware.

Constructive criticism would be helpful and welcome, since I haven't ever game mastered.

Looks good, lots of detail. However, it feels more like an OOC thread than an interest check.

It might be easier to get interest if you put the plot at the top. That way people know what they'll be doing in the RP, and then seeing what's available to play will help get the brainstorms going, at which point you'll have the character sheet ready to go. ^^

Once you get people interested, though, you'll want to put all of this into and more into an OOC thread for real, with everything laid out for reference.

How it usually plays out is the interest check says, "Hey guys, who all would like to do a fantasy RP where we band together and kill the Big Bad? There's elves, dwarves, a detailed world, etc."
And they say, "Ooh, me, me! Sign me up!" "Me too!" "Me three!"
"Sweet," you say, "I'll start up the OOC."

Then the OOC says, "Here's the world, here's the plot, here's the races, here's the character sheet. Ready? Make something awesome!"
"Ooh, I'm gonna be an elf! Can I be the exiled prince of this land?"
"Sure, I guess."
"Ooh, I'll be a struggling dwarf mage who's broader mindset has let him see the danger his kinfolk are all blinded to, and we can meet up somewhere."
"Sounds great! I already have my character. Just need one or two more."

And so on, until you're ready. And then the in-character-ness of the actual RP thread FTW! ^_^

Ooh, very nice. Yup, definitely an improvement; everything feels like it flows, now, more naturally or at least more what people are used to, or probably both.
It's a great concept! Would not be surprised if you get plenty of interest.
I'm GM'ing a couple RP's myself at the moment and am already set to be in a few more, or I'd probably join. xD
