2. Anything not defined In Character, is free to player invention. Basically, it means that we don't come into the game with any notions about how things are, and everyone is free to add to the environment as they like.

3. Rule of Fun. Whatever keeps the game fun for YOU, is OK by US. ...and very notably vice versa. Lick the walls if you want; we won't judge.

Character Sheets
Characters may be pulled from any corner of the multiverse (any world, based in any book/movie/game/etc). They may be original or not. There is no limit on power. (Yes, you can play a god char if you want. Just keep to rules 1 and 3.)

There is no limit on the number of characters you can have -PC or NPCs.

There's no set character sheet format. Pictures are OK. Don't be stingy, but feel free to let your char sheet be a work in progress. At the very least a name and physical description should be enough.



Setting
A single planet at the center of the multiverse, surrounded by ever-changing swirling wormholes. Commonly called Elio.

Elio's oceans and continents are divided by curtains of gaseous magical energy that rise between the tectonic plates. They inhibit travel and communication on planet, but they also enrich the land. Any place outside of civilized borders is considered extremely dangerous, because of the rampaging magic, the wild beasts, and the living land.

One of those civilized borders is a city called Kingstown. It is a central hub for travelers, whether they go by sea or land or air. Not far from the central market, in a relatively quiet nook, you can find Snookie's Bed and Breakfast/tavern.

Travelers from throughout the multiverse are a common occurrence. New folk arrive (usually via wormhole, accident, or mystery of the universe) every hour, often with no more than the clothes on their backs. They make their way, or die, or disappear.

Kings Market: not far from Snookie's. (Currently holding a riot centered around a magic shop. Snookie is en route.)

Name: Neta Snook

World: Earth ...or some version thereof

Species: Human

Physical Description:
Neta has a pilot's compact, weightless body. She was designed to crawl into cramped places and guide machinery into the air. She has small hands, delicate fingers, and clear-sighted eyes.

Her hair is brown and generally unmanageable. She keeps it short, so it's prone to fly-aways. Her eyes are a blue-gray; they are unconsciously piercing when she brings her attention to a single target.

Though her clothes at the B&B are almost stately (in a gender-ambiguous, Victorian-era, "Can-I-direct-you-to-the-loo-Sir?" kind of way), Neta is prone to leaving her tool belt comfortably around her waist. She will visit the early morning market in her flight jacket to pick up the day's fresh milk. She has been known to happily mistake her work gloves for oven mitts -with thankfully little consequence. If she ends the day without at least one smudge of grease on her person, she considers the day a failure.

Biography:
Neta Snook was born and raised on Earth, in the flatlands of America. She became one of the first female pilots, during a time when the world was going to war and there was a shortage of men on the home front. She went to college, built and sold custom aeroplanes, worked as a flight instructor, and had plans to one day own her own airfield.

One nondescript day, while flying to visit family, she was very suddenly sucked into the sky by turbulent winds and a rip in spacetime. She was mysteriously transported to Elio, with some minor head trauma and a gasping plane. Her arrival point was on the beach, not far outside of Kingstown.

In the city she received her orientation to Elio and started a new life. She doesn't travel much, because of the dangers outside of the city. But with determination and practiced suspension of disbelief, she managed to make some useful contacts and start her own business. Her love of flying has become more of a hobby; the magic and technology of the multiverse offers a lot in the way of aeronautic engineering.

It has been three years. She runs a Bed and Breakfast (Snookie's) in a relatively quiet corner of Kingstown. During the day and evenings, she serves standard tavern-fare to travelers and patrons. Private rooms and beds are upstairs and in the back, where priority is always given to those in need.

Sorry this took a while to get up, I didn't have access to the PC for a day or two. Also, this profile layout is just something I whipped up last night, combined with the layout you've used, hope it's chill. (FINAL NOTE: I HAS NO PICS SO I HOPE MY WORDS DESCRIBE HIS APPEARANCE WELL ENOUGH!)

His hair is dark blue (a side effect of his Grimoire), and long enough that it drops over his eyes most of the time, it's mostly seen as slightly unkempt. He is tall and lanky, with slightly pale skin. He wears a simple black suit with a white shirt underneath, fingerless brown gloves, and brown steel-toed shoes. He dons a pair of black trousers held up by two brown belts. He completes the outfit with a black fedora hat and a golden pocket watch that hangs from his pants right pocket. His eyes, when seen, are a bright gold. There is generally an ever present smirk on his face.

HISTORY

In the world that Rayne comes from, there has always been people that posses abilities that people considered magic. These abilities could range as far as being able to heal others from a touch, to simply speaking to nature. Originally, these people were seen as demonic, a sin against god. Those that were found out were slaughtered for their "crimes". And so it became that when someone discovered their abilities, they went into hiding. They pretended to be "normal", never aware that their abilities meant so much more than just what the population said it meant.

In the early 1500's, a group of these people came together, almost as if they were called. Together, they founded a place that would serve as a place to protect people like them. And not just protect. There they would learn how to control their abilities, how to utilize them for the good of each other. They called this place the "School of Battle".

As time went by, those with abilities began to revolt against those without. Occasionally, some would find some reason to try and get revenge for their kind, and attempt to destroy. It was at this point that the attendees of the school realized their true purpose. They would fight back against these evils, those that meant harm. And so the legacy of the School of Battle began. And with each new generation of students, new evils arose to bring destruction to mankind.

Sometime in 2015, one of these new evils arrived from beyond the stars. He called himself Zennith, The World Eater. Zennith travelled across the universe, discovering new worlds filled with magic, and would drain them to nothing. The School of Battle was the only one that could stand up to Zennith, and thus took the call. While they were successful in stopping him, it was at a heavy loss. The school's greatest headmistress, Nightingale Diabolous, had saved the lives of her students by giving her own. Following her death, there was only one who would be able to follow in her steps, the young man who she had come to rely on in time. Kallo Hyrendt, The Angel of Destiny. That was not the only thing that had been lost in the attack either. Before he had been destroyed, Zennith had begun his attack on Earth, and with a single strike from his blade, he had split the world in two. Held together only by the world's magic, humanity would have to change.

Unfortunately, Earth's governments had decided that the users of magic and the like were to blame, and so an agency known as SOURCE was born. It's sole reason for existing was to wipe out those that used "magic", and keep the world safe. This meant an immediate attack on the School of Battle. Unable to deal with both the threat of SOURCE and the grief at having lost the person who had raised him for the last seven years, Kallo ordered his students to flee the school. He watched as SOURCE lay waste to all that had been great in the world, before turning on the government itself. Seeing that the power hungry organization would continue to kill anyone that stood in it's way, Kallo told the remnants of his students to forget the School of Battle, and to once more go into hiding among men.

With no one to oppose them, SOURCE wiped out what magic users they found, and to keep them in check, bound most of the worlds magic itself into objects known as "Grimoires". Within these Grimoires were power beyond that which any man had laid eyes on, however if in the wrong hands, they could be used as weapons. Luckily, the Grimoires bonded with only a select few, so for now, the world was alive... though it was dark.

Six years would pass before another decided to stand against those without abilities, however, this time it was for good. A resistance rose against SOURCE, who was now the sole form of tyrannical government left. This resistance was powered by the Chrono Grimoire. While it's chosen wielder had yet to be found, it's radiance alone inspired the magic users that fought SOURCE, and they were able to make a name for themselves. This resistance became known as Remnant. This was because they had been brought together by the surviving students from the School of Battle. And so, once more, the School of Battle's flag was raised against SOURCE, in what was thought to be a never ending battle for supremacy.

At least, that was until a young boy named Jason Varnes appeared. Many years before, back when peace existed on earth, he had been a student of the School of Battle. He was a Hume, a being that came from another world entirely. He was trained to be the perfect soldier by his master, Kren. However, he saw his masters weakness, and felt that those with emotions were the lesser races. Killing his master, he became a threat to the school, and vowed to come back when they were at their weakest, their most emotional, and destroy them. Escaping back to his own world, it was thought he would never return. But now with Remnant's passion, and knowing they took the name the New School of Battle, he had finally chosen to strike.

Remnant called him "The Destroyer". He continually attacked them, repeatedly stopping them from attacking SOURCE. One by one he killed their members. And it was at this point that Rayne Derrond's story intersected with history's. Rayne, seeing the monster that would kill them all instinctively took up the Chrono Grimoire, and locked The Destroyer away in time. However, while Rayne had been able to access the Grimoire's power in a time of need, he was not the chosen wielder. Ikaruga, a beast that had been sealed within the Grimoire had allowed Rayne access to it's power, and once he was done with it, Ikaruga attacked Rayne's mind. He broke the young man's mind, and in a last ditch effort, Rayne used his new abilities to disappear from time, in order to save those he loved from himself. However, this would leave Remnant without a source of power, and unknown to Rayne OR Ikaruga, would seal his fate.

Ikaruga constantly spoke to Rayne while they floated through a timeless place, and as the years passed, he convinced him to return to his world. He told him about how he could save everyone he knew, just by destroying Jason earlier in time. Falling for his trap, Rayne returned to his world, only, in 2012. It was here he attacking Jason, just after the boy had initially turned on the School of Battle. Before he could finish the job however, a young boy named Cyrus attack Rayne.

Cyrus was a child from Rayne's time. He had been a young member of Remnant, and was filled with rage at seeing the man that had stolen the Chrono Grimoire and doomed his home. Rayne was weakened by the battle with Jason, and was beaten by Cyrus. Jason took the opportunity to escape, claiming he would be watching Rayne closely now. Seeing his one chance to save everyone properly escape, Rayne's already broken mind was finally shattered by Ikaruga. Ikaruga stole Rayne's body, and saying a brief farewell to Cyrus, used his powers over the Chrono Grimoire to escape through time-space.

This was almost a year ago. And that was the day Rayne, now under Ikaruga's complete control, took his first stpes on Elio. He smirked as he saw a new world, fresh for the picking. And immediately went to work in making plans.

ABILITIES
He wield the power of the Chrono Grimoire. This gives him powers of time-space. Allowing for quick temporal distortions to be used to his advantage. He fights using the representation of his Grimoire, which is Aristole, which takes the form of never ending black chains. He pulls Aristole from beyond the temporal plain, and as such, he uses them to rip trough time-space and attack his foes from any angle.

PERSONALITY
Because the mind in control is really Ikaruga, his personality is very different to what it once was. While he appears to be rather friendly, and kind toward everyone, this is all a lie. He is extremely devious, always working towards his own goals. He is willing to use as many people as he sees fit, not to mention disposing of them once their usefulness is up. He absolutely hates people standing in his way, and will stop at nothing to make his goals come true.

THOSE TIED BY DESTINY (These are just NPC's that if seen in the RP, have something to do with Rayne/Ikaruga's plot)

Cyrus Doone
Cyrus was a young boy in Remnant when the events between Rayne and "The Destroyer" happened. After that, he had to watch as one by one his friends and family were killed by the SOURCE attacks, now with the Chrono Grimoire gone, nothing could stop them. Cyrus, like all children in Remnant, were trained to fight back. It was during this training that Cyrus' abilities became known. He had a natural control over Time-Space. Basically, he was the chosen wielder of the Chrono Grimoire.

With this knowledge, and with Remnant slowly dying, they chose to send Cyrus to the past. He alone could use his ability to manipulate "The Infinite", the door between worlds, and return to a time before the disaster that led to the world he now lived in. He successfully did so, and enrolled into the School of Battle, hoping to simply wait until the day Zennith, "The World Eater" appeared. Cyrus would use his knowledge to save the world.

This plan was shattered due to Rayne returning however, and thus Cyrus used his power over "The Infinite" once more to follow the one that had stolen what was rightfully HIS Grimoire, and made his way to Elio. His only mission to retrieve the Chrono Grimoire, and gain the power to save his home.

Jason Varnes
Jason was known in Rayne and Cyrus' time as "The Destroyer", however, this is Jason before he attacked Remnant. Not only that, but due to Cyrus appearing in the past, Kren was able to learn of his ability to control time-space and created the Arc System, technology that could use brief rips in time-space to give the wielder an advantage. Upon killing his master, Jason stole this technology.

Because the Arc System is installed in Jason's armour, he is stronger in this timeline. Not only that, but using the Arc System, Jason followed Rayne to Elio, seeing it as a new place to gain power.

Jason has no natural abilities, as Hume's cannot handle the "magic". However, his master Kren invented numerous devices and weaponry that combined Magic and Science into one, which were outfitted onto Jason as he developed them. This allowed Jason to fight the forces of evil along with the rest of the school. However, it also allowed Jason to fight back. He still uses these devices and weapons, which he stole upon killing his master.

Roy "E21" Phantome
Roy was a science experiment created by SOURCE to destroy Cyrus' attempts at altering the past. He was created as the true wielder of the Crimson Grimoire, which gave him the ability to control fire. He was sent by SOURCE to the past, and clashed with Cyrus numerous times.

Over time, the Crimson Grimoire allowed Roy access to emotions and thoughts of his own. This gave him a personality. While he is still trying to figure out who he wants to be, he will still follow the orders given to him by SOURCE.

In his "final" fight with Cyrus, Cyrus used his power over "The Infinite" to send Roy away. Oddly enough (Or not, if you believe in fate), Roy came out in Elio. He's been travelling as much as he can since, acting as a Mercenary of sorts. He still remembers his mission however, and who knows what will happen if he ever sees Cyrus again.

Name: Aalok (Aaron)

World: Iradia (A world like earth, only there are deities that manifest themselves often)

Species: Child deity, though his powers are largely hidden

Physical Description: Aalok (known as Aaron), has soft blond hair and eyes the color of the midday sky. He is very short and slight and looks no more than eight years old, though he is at least 50 years of age. He is clothed in a white robe, marked with the sign of Lucia, the only memory he has of the woman who protected him on Laistrad. He bears a strange marking on his forehead, and his body is always glowing faintly, a subtle reminder that his divinity is being held back behind a mortal shell. He often wears a dark blue cloak around his body, to try to make himself less noticeable.

Biography: On the plane of Iradia, deities were a large part of the mythos and culture of the Iradian people. Gods and goddesses were not immortal, however, and they rose and fell like empires and their powers waxed and waned over the centuries. There were numerous temples and sites of worship, as well as multitudes of devotees. Many deities even had their own personal armies. No feud was so bitter, however, than between the god of Light and Truth, Amitai and the god of Darkness and Lies, Harkin. For centuries, their wars were the fiercest and the deadliest, but neither could best the other. That all changed when a child was born to Amitai and his wife, Virde, the goddess of Life. They named the boy Aalok, and the people who worshiped Amitai rejoiced that the child would be a champion of Life, Light, and Truth. Unfortunately, the child would prove to be their downfall...

When Aalok was only a child, Harkin stole him from his parents and stripped him of his memories and hid his divinity underneath a 'cloak of humanity' so that he would be of no threat to Harkin. Harkin then threatened to kill the child unless Amitai and Virde surrendered to him. Harkin set a time and location where he would free Aalok and accept Amitai and Virde's surrender. Unfortunately for Amitai and Virde, the god of Darkness had no intention of keeping his promise. Aalok's parents were killed on a fateful night, and the world was plunged into darkness and despair. Aalok was only saved through a trick of fate. Even though the god of darkness had managed to reduce Aalok to the powers of a human, at times his divinity would shine through, as it was too powerful to contain. Gods and goddesses all had the power to travel through the Aether to other planes of existence. And when Harkin turned his powers on Aalok to destroy him, the child disappeared in a flash of light...

He awoke to find himself on a plane called Laistrad, ruled by monsters where humans were cowering in fear. He had no idea where he was or what his heritage was, as his memories had been stripped by Harkin. Aalok quickly found that the monsters and dark creatures were able to track him for some reason and lusted for his blood. He only escaped through the intervention of another deity from another world who could walk the planes as he could. This person was Shaydrin, a vampire who opposed the dark beings on Laistrad. Shaydrin named the child Aaron, as Aalok could not even remember his own name. Shaydrin immediately sensed that there was a strange aura about the boy. Shaydrin explained that he had once created a being of hope and light to protect the humans, but she had recently disappeared. Aaron was able to sense this woman of mythical power, Lucia, and he helped Shaydrin to locate her. With her unbinding, the world was free and safe once more, though evil not completely diminished. Shaydrin left after this, and though Aaron begged to go with him, Shaydrin refused saying that his own darkness would never mesh with Aaron's light and left Aaron in Lucia's care. No sooner had Shaydrin left, then a great demon appeared, intrigued by Aaron's light. The demon defeated Lucia, and attempted to coerce the boy into using his powers for the demon. Aaron refused and the demon attacked him, wounding him mortally. Again, in this time of trauma, his divine powers began to shine through. He was pulled through the Aether into another world, and his wounds were healed by the powers of Life flowing through his body.

The second world he visited was a place of beauty and peace. It was a verdant world filled with lush flora and fauna and populated mostly by an elvish race of great power. A young Elvish healer named Linwe took him in when she found him in a flowery meadow, shaken by Lucia's destruction. Linwe listened to his story, and brought him healing and peace as best as she could. She taught him the properties of various healing herbs and plants, and was shocked when she discovered his natural ability to heal. Healing was one of the few powers he retained, even in his mortal form. Though she had to rely on lore, herbs, and spellbooks, Aaron only had to focus his mind and he could heal all but the most serious wounds. His healing abilities became famous, but it seemed that darkness was never far away from him...A dark traveler appeared, seeking the famous healer. When he found Aaron, the traveler immediately sensed that there was something more to Aaron than there appeared to be, and he attempted to cast a spell of darkness on the boy. Immediately, his powers to travel through the Aether activated, but this time with a high cost...

When Aaron awoke, he found himself in yet another world, the land of Elio. He is terrified to think that he might bring more destruction upon yet another world, as darkness seems to follow him wherever he goes...He only wants to find peace somewhere, and to learn who he really is. But a thick haze surrounds his memory of what happened before the world of Laistrad. Will there be any way for him to unravel his memories and for his powers to return in their entirety?

Abilities: Aaron is a skilled healer, not only in herbal lore, but in the magical ability. He can simply touch a wound, and can transfer some of his energy into the person to heal wounds. Aaron also has a mysterious sense of Truth, mostly due to his ability to sense the emotions of others. He cannot hear thoughts, but he can especially tell when someone is lying. His powers over Light have largely been diminished in his human form, and he can only manipulate small baubles of energy. He can travel to other planes, but only when his life is in extreme danger. It seems like his most recent trip to Elio has spent most of his power, however, and it is doubtful he would be able to escape if needed anytime soon. Other beings with magic can sense his great power and dark creatures seem especially interested in either using him for their own gain or extinguishing his light. And somewhere...Hardin is still searching for him...

I'm impressed. You guys don't mess around with the Invention Button; you know how to use it! (I'm always a little worried in this setting, because timid players tend to get steamrolled.) Nice characters! And they looked well paired; it should be interesting.

I might have to bring out one of my A-Listers just to keep up. We'll see.

Just so you know, I am reading the RP and stuff, but I'm gonna wait for a better opening to post in it. So yeah, I'm definitely in this, I'm just waiting for the best... time.

Remember though: you don't have limit yourself to what's going on with these characters now. The world is much more vast. You're welcome to start anywhere you like.

Incidentally and by example, I'm going to bring in another character as soon as I get a moment -someone who is nowhere near Snookie's. B-Lister, at least.

Once again, bonus points to anyone who recognizes the new character. (This one is harder, as he doesn't actually have a name.) Tolkien fans have advantage.

I tried to give Aaron some room to move, Ruu. And Rayne. I'm not sure what he's up to, but going into town will present opportunity for paths to intersect -unless Days has something else in store. =]

And for anyone worried about stepping on my toes story-wise... Even I'm not sure what's going on at The Magic Shop, or what Snookie meant by "Another riot?"

Bio: Marcus was born in Ireland over 345 years ago, he was born a half breed, one half vampire the other he thought was human. He was wrong. For nearly three centuries Marcus has lived in America fighting against all that threatened his adopted country. Until not long ago, when he realized his true potential and found himself in Elhio.

Abilities: Enhanced speed, strength, durability, stamina, and healing factor. He has also shown sporadic use of aerokinetic, atmokinetic, and electrokinetic abilities.

Sorry about that little hiatus we apparently were on. I blame circumstances that I can't control. The weather, maybe.

Anyway. I don't have any real intention of posting for the NPCs unless you guys need it. (Misnomer, that is. They're not Non-playable, they're Totally-playable. By everyone.) Thought I'd bring in another PC if Neta ends up spending too much time out of the office here. In the mean time, try not to burn down the inn.
