Re: Emoria: OOC
As you can see, we have been inching toward completion of the Sentient Species and Races of Emoria list. We will soon be rid of the History & Lore and Culture section, this information now being much more organized and accessible in the Sentient Species post. Please take a look at what has been done, and to those who aren't finished yet, don't worry we haven't forgotten you! Silvone refuses to allow me to help (picky bugger that he is) so it can only be done in his free time. I promise we will get to you eventually.
That said, to those whose information is completed, if you find you want to give additional information and flesh out parts of your worldspaces that have not yet been been addressed, feel free to do so! All you have to do is send the information that you wish to be added to me, and I will edit the post for you. I hope everyone finds this new organization to be more helpful than the giant wall of text that we had previously! Also, if you wish, you may edit your character sheets to contain less worldspace information and keep it simply about your character and his/her attributes (BUT don't do it until we've finished please! Would hate to lose information!)
Edit: Also, question: Would anyone prefer that I put names of the creator/steward of each worldspace next to the name in geography? OR would you rather there be a short geographical description of the area there? Or both? It seems kind of useless as is.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Hi everybody, I'm back! ^^
Regarding the Fermata attack on Jasidin, I'd like to piont out that Fermata is a close neighbor of the island continent, and that Aendrel has strong friendship with them. They're similar in a lot of ways. They would almost certainly have paladins in the area, unless something in the world-space indicates otherwise (I haven't checked it for a while). So if Morgarath is manipulating things there, I think it should be quite subtle and devious. I can look over Fermata and come up with some concepts, if you like.
Worldspace names/descriptions question: Both, please! ^^
I love the new setup! xD
I'll try to finish that last paragraph of my Histories of Aendrel.
And, if you want to incorporate my Aendrel timeline (in my CS) into a larger timeline, please feel free. I can help if you want.
Also, in the Lore, there's a "[spoiler]" tag right at the beginning of Kathryn's elven history.
As for the Sretin RP, I'm in the middle of reading it now.
I'll be working on a MoN thread post, as well.
Edit:
I just noticed, in the Sentient Species bit, the Quendi and Thendári races are conspicuously lacking in detail. :/ They don't have the information category thingies or anything.
Edit Edit:
Actually, before I do ANYTHING else, I need to finish Chainlinc3 and Eternity's portraits ASAP. I'll get right on it.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Kalon, when you say close, I'm assuming you mean relationship wise, not distance? Since Fermata is off the coast of Renjira Krin.
As for Swampland attacks, as far as I know(as me and the other stewards rarely see each other at the moment) the Tynir will be invading the Swamplands(with your permission, of course.)

Both. Close, as in one of the closest by sea. In terms of strict proximity--as the crow flies or otherwise (hey that rhymes), Äm, Jasidin, Spire, Aqualyt, Fermata and Kvatch, in order, are the closest coastal lands to Aendrel. All you have to do is look at the map to see that. Fermata is about as far away as Spire, as the crow flies. It's a bit farther by sea, since we have to go around Äm. Unless you factor in the peninsula; then it's about the same that way, too.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Well, Kalon, we're not finished yet. When we do finish, all races/species will have those links.
Perhaps instead of Fermata attacking, the Tynir should be using Fermata as a stopping point to attack the Jasidin later? It could explain Fermata's absence in the council, if there busy being bullied for supplies and such.
Edit: Also, I will get to adding creator/steward names to the list. It's clear that not everyone realizes who they should be contacting regarding what. Until I get home to finish that, I'll make it clear that I am the one stewarding Fermata.

The Tynir can't invade Fermata. They have no boats, plus using the boats to reach Jasadin means their entirely dependant on the natural enviroment for food, due to the metabolic restrictions.

Alright, Tynir are invading by land then? We'll have to come up with a way for them to get past Traemador without destroying it.
I will be coming up with something for Fermata, whether it is still attacking Jasidin or a new plan. Kalon, we're going to have to work with your paladin's in regards to whatever I come up with, since HD, Silv and my story is dependent on something having gone wrong there.

We would like to have Fermata attack the Jasidin, but I need to come up with a reason for doing so. Basically, I need the MoN to have a reason to want to use Fermata to destroy the swamplands, and also a method of doing so (I.E. what resources were given to Fermata to accomplish this). I posted this here rather than PM because I wanted everyone to know my plans for Fermata and have a chance to voice concerns should they have any.
I'll have to read up on Fermata. I never really looked too deeply at the country. Perhaps Plague can come up with a good reason, cause currently, I'm a little bit at a loss.

Re: Emoria: OOC
The drenata are a reclusive species. While they are not hostile to strangers, they do not interact with them if possible. I believe that a tynir army would be allowed passage through Traemador as long as they kept to the southern boundary of their nation. That is also where the local ogre population is located, which is a huge problem for the drenata. So it would be like saying: "yeah, you swim through our shark infested waters and we won't hinder you." So the tynir passing though won't be an issue.
As far as Fermata is concerned, perhaps the paladins can be convinced, alongside the Arpeggio Knights (I think I spelled that right), that the sorceresses are allied with the Mountains of Night. I don't think that would be too much of a stretch for any of the cultures in Talonia (except perhaps Spire, but even they don't know the Jasidin all that well). So then the Arpeggio Knights and the paladins would inadvertently be helping the Mountains of Night by attacking the Jasidin, one of Spire's closest allies and trade partners. It would be like hitting two birds with one stone.
I think this works really well, actually. You have the Fermatan's, perhaps with some paladins, invade Jasidin from the coast, while the tynir work their way up from the southeast. While the Jasidin are focused on repelling the Fermatan's, their biggest worry at the moment, the tynir sneak in. Since Ryona has already accepted her own loss in this battle, I think it makes for quite an epic battle indeed!

Re: Emoria: OOC
Actually, that's a really good idea, Silvone. The only issue at that point becomes where the information is coming from. I can think of two things a false rumor might come from. The first would be perhaps from the scythen, though I think it's somewhat heavy-handed. The paladins would have to take on faith that the scythen would know something of the jasidin that would provoke a strike.
The second idea is for the Fermatans themselves to "intercept" a missive from the dark lord himself. There's a very complicated and somewhat questionable ritual to contact Morgarath that I was going to be getting into in the MoN thread in a little bit, and perhaps we could have a couple turned Jasidin witches be interrupted in the middle of it. They implicate Jasidin itself, and the paladins and Fermatens aren't having any of that.
Or I guess it could just be an actual letter. Whatever fits better.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Something directly linking Morgarath to Jasidin would really get the paladins going. ^^ That's what they've been doing this whole time; stopping Morgarath's little schemes. There hasn't been one in a long time, so if this one happens now, they'll probably jump on it even more. Especially if the Fermatans are involved and in some sort of trouble.
There is, after all, a historical precedent for the Thendári going overzealous with what they're supposed to be doing. ^^ Catching Jasidin witches relaying messages to Morgarath would be quite implicating indeed. If that were stacked on top of some large happening in Jasidin and/or Fermata, with both nations involved, that'd surely get the paladins involved with Fermata to invade Jasidin. ^^

Re: Emoria: OOC
Perhaps then, a few stolen or 'turned' sorcs can be caught doing Morgarath's dirty work, which would set off this entire cascade of events. *taps fingers together* How despicable, I LOVE IT!

Soo glad you caught that Kalon. I love Beauty and the Beast, its my favorite Disney film!
If you guys look at the geography section, you can see examples of what some of you have already sent me (this of course regarding the mass PM sent yesterday). I'd like to aplogize to Gunneh who I forgot to message to (I was going off of the character sheet list, and we have not yet relinked you!) Anyway, there are plenty of examples ranging from small to long, but all are good and give us a better idea of the land. I look forward to its completion!
After Silvone finishes the Sildari and Idona info, he will move on to the new members who have not yet had their information added to the Sentient Species section. This should include Spectre, quakernuts, Lady_Despair, Fleusopp, Eternity, Chainlinc3, Crazy Hobo, and The_End.
We also need all the sentient species regarding the Mountains of Night, but I am told Plague is working diligently at that (or procrastinating diligently, whichever )
Edit: Also, Bird of Hermes, if you would like help creating information for the Planes species you have given us, just let us know and we will search for volunteers. If you would rather do it yourself, that is fine too. Not sure if Silvone offered that to you, but he meant to.

So, yes, I am working on all sorts of goodies and balances and who-hahs for the MON(like a layout.) Buuuttt....I'm going to Mexico come Sunday, and Shadow is here come friday...so it's kinda slow going.
Throw that on top of having to build my own worldspace, and post...I've somehow managed to bury myself in work again. Bollocks.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Haha yea, don't worry about it Plague. Also, with reference to the Tynir routing through Fermata, this is kind of what I had meant in the first place, but Silvone explained to me that what I wrote did not at all imply what I meant, for which I have given myself a good smack in the face.
In the end, its up to you. Fermata will be attacking the Jasidin because of some renegade Sorcs and Saves, so if the Tynir want to take advantage of that fact...fine by me!
However, I do want to say that I have an awesome defense planned for the Jasidin in terms of turning away attacks by sea...I would like the water Sect sorcs to create a large low tide which in turn will send a tsunami in whatever direction they push it...this of course isn't meant to be a victory, just some cool stuff to write about before they get their butts kicked. Hope everyone likes it. We can sort out the details of it later.
Edit: In terms of the tsunami, looking at the map it seems that their defense would have some unintended effects on either Am or the Aqualyt Islands. So I suppose that we'll have to hammer out that detail, or scrap it and pretend that they control the water to a much higher degree than I had originally imagined.

Oh, I meant as in while the Jasadin and Fermatans are busy battling in the swamplands, the Tynir army kinda comes in the back door, and when it reaches the already hard pressed foes...they're totally unprepared for it, IE RIDERS OF KORUN(I don't have those, don't worry. Alligators can't run fast enough for a battle rush...) CHARGE! *Cue epic race across the distance into the already battling armies with dramatic music and epic clashes, tradegy and victory!*
EDIT: Also, the Tsunami might not have the neccessary juju to go smash those places, being only magic made, so it's a very plausible defence.

Re: Emoria: OOC
Ah, well I think that is a perfect plan! Sans alligator riders...
The defense is more focused on the low tide rather than the tsunami. If the fermata are attacking by boat (which they will) and water sorcs push the tide back, it renders any boat weapons useless, and causes the people on the boats to have to abandon them and walk the beach by foot...where the water sorcs can then go "oopsee", bring the tide back in, and drown a few fellows. Silvone was the one that mentioned by pushing the tide out, the water has got to go somewhere.
So then the Jasidin all cheer "yay!", turn around, then get butt kicked by some sneaky Tynir.

Yo guys, I'm still alive. A very late welcome to all the new folk that have joined us!
Have been busy lately and, seeing as my character is going solo at the moment, Emoria just dropped down in my list of priorities. I've been writing my next post that will move Perun one step closer to Valinyx, but I just can't find the damned time. I've been at it from Monday and whenever I sit down, something comes up. Today, I had to spend my hours working on form for a certain project (don't ask, it's ridiculously boring) and that ate up all my time. Still, I'm making progress so you should a post by the end of week...end.

Re: Emoria: OOC
If they messed with the tide and it did cause a tsunami, I suppose Äm would be the first to feel the effects. The pirate lords are probably well prepared for that sort of thing already. Unless it is just messing with the tide. Not really sure what would happen.
Re: Emoria: OOC
Now that I think about it, it is kind of unrealistic for it to create a tsunami of any drastic size. It might increase the rate and size of waves by nearby islands, but nothing major. It takes massive earthquakes to create these tsunami's, and tides change all of the time. So I think we'd be safe in ignoring any secondary effects of lowering the tide.

I'm working on it. xD I have 3 RP's besides Sephiris which have been clamoring for a post for a while, and I'm almost done with a post for one of them, but I have work today. I should be on this evening; hopefully by then it'll be Emoria's turn.
It should be okay to post in Sretin without me, though. All I plan to do is have three to five Paladins in Zin. I could do more if you guys want. However many there were, there would now be two less, since they've gone to tell the rest of the world (on their way back to Aendrel to tell them) what's up.
