We Are One Reboot OOC (CLOSED)
It's the year 2040 and the world has not changed much from our own. The internet is still free and open to the very best hackers in the world. Cell phones now have completely replaced home phones in every home. And Century city is plagued by crime. But for several decades now that has begun to change. A change that has not just been confined to just Century city but the entire world, a rise of people with extraordinary powers has begun to change everything. They are few in numbers, with only a couple hundred of these individuals existing in an over populated world of 4 billion. Many cities and towns do not have single "power" within their limits, but it seems that cities like Century City calls to them like moths to light.
Despite the power they posses many have decided to use their powers for good. The none powered criminals are running scared, with places as bad a Century City seeing the first decline in crime in decades. These people are bringing hope to the world with their acts or bravery and their power being used for good. The people seem to believe that all those gifted with powers have gone to those of the most steadfast morality. Some however have no yet made the choice of light and darkness, deciding to stay in the middle for whatever reasons they have. But there are powers who are using their ability for their own gain. The world just does not know of them yet.
But for all their courage and inspiration, the heroes of this world have never worked together. Some refuse because of pride, some because they are unsure if they can truly trust those with powers like their own. Others, though doing the work of the people, simply do not like to share the attention with anyone else. This has lead to accidents, with innocent people being hurt in the crossfire. And now the government is stepping in with the largest new federal government bureau since the inception of Homeland Security. They are simply known as the Judges, and see all powers as threat and make it their business to keep a close watch on the heroes.
But both groups must be weary, for a force far more dangerous than either of their imaginations is coming. There are whispers on the streets about Empire City. The news reports and stories of their heroes have gone all but silent. Many do not speak of their heroes of old, because they know there is a force in the city that can snuff are more quicker and quieter than any shadow criminal organization before it. And now this force has grown tired of Empire City and has his eyes on a new prize. Century City will now have to suffer through the blackest of nights....and it is uncertain if there will ever be a dawn.

Please PM all character sheets to myself. All accepted Heroes and Villains will be posted below. Keep in mind this is not a world of flashy super villains, this is an age before it. An age where these evil men and women acted more like the Mafia of old, staying in the shadows. There are 3 sides to the coming conflict. The heroes and villains are obvious choices. Though as of now all villains must be under the thumb of Charlie Lango. There are also neutral characters who may very well hold the fate of Century city in their hands, because sooner or later. They will have to pick a side.

Charlie Lango by Squall Reyes
- Spoiler:
- Name: Charlie Lango
Age: 30
Ability: Absorption: His powers are as simple as they are powerful. He cannot be harmed, and it’s not some sort of invincibility. That is a rather mundane power with no real use since you are still bound by the strength of normal men. No he absorbs punishment, namely the energy, and he uses this energy to increase his strength, speed, stamina and recuperation. He absorbs direct energy, from force of strong gust to the velocity of bullets and blade making his skin durable to all manner of punishment.
Fighting him is an uphill battle, with the hill being more like Everest. Simply because the more you fight him, the stronger and faster he becomes. To make matters worse for our heroes he has begun to develop the ability to fire the energy as a beam of light of devastating effect once he has gathered enough energy. However there of course is a down side, he can only gather energy from direct action, which mean he cannot simply gather the suns power and blow up the world.
Another more serious draw back to this power is overloading. Charlie is still just a man after all, and the human body can only contain so much energy before it overflows and renders him unconscious.
Side: Evil
Bio: Charlie’s future was set from the day he was born. It was the same as every poor son of a bitch who grew up in his neighborhood. Except Charlie was special and that was a bad thing for his rivals, which was pretty much every other kid in the neighborhood. How bad? Well let’s put it this way. Go to his old neighborhood, and you’ll see no one 10 years his senior and no one 10 year his junior. Charlie was young, powerful and stupid. He killed much of his competition violently and visibly.
He might have killed EVERYONE if it wasn’t for the law. Though he did manage to kill the two poor officers sent to check on the tip they were passed, Charlie knew better to stick around a city where you had the label of a cop killer. He had not quite mastered his still maturing powers. So he left for greener pastures as he would call it.
From the age of 20-30 Charlie had consolidated his power in Empire City. Along the way discovering and “nurturing” 3 more with powers. Charlie had also learned from his time in the old neighborhood. The body count is not much smaller, but the crimes are much quieter. Unknown to the people and the few heroes of Empire City, Charlie was setting his pieces. And then he made his move. Try asking Empire City about their heroes and be greeted with blank stares and teary eyes. Now he plans to do the same to Century City.

- Spoiler:
Name:Joe Williams
Age:74
Ability: [explain the ability in full]
Joe’s ability is to freeze things by touch. In order for the process of a freeze to begin Joe must touch the object with his bare hands. It must be his hands and no other.
Once Joe touches the object, in this case person, that person will start feeling a vague sense of cold that will multiply very fast into a very uncomfortable coldness until it becomes pain and the flesh starts to freeze, blood-vessels burst and so on. The frost will then spread if Joe’s hand is left unchecked to the rest of the body and eventually kill the person, completely freezing the object in the process.
Due to the inconveniences that his power may pose, Joe is always wearing two white gloves. Another thing that must be noted is his small yet sturdy cane that he uses more out of fun than necessity. Joe has learned how to fight with his cane with relative ease and agility and has been able to somehow modify his cane to do something quite useful.
Somehow, Joe is able to extend the freezing power of his hand to the white tip of his cane. The result is obvious: a deadlier Joe.
Side:Evil
Bio:
Joe has always been good at two things and two things only: freezing the hell out of stuff... and being creepy... on soo many levels. Joe started his little story exactly 74 years ago when he was born to a family of doctors. Needless to say, he seriously injured and eventually killed his mother when she gave birth to him because of his ‘gift’ and took on the hatred of his father and rest of his family. It’s not like he cared, though; Joe killed them all before his twentieth birthday.
Now, this rather tumultuous childhood led to serious... difficulties mentally.
Joe suffered irreparable mental trauma since birth through family trouble. To add into the fray, being naturally socially awkward, Joe developed a large group of imaginary friends since he had none of the real kind. His ‘friends’ all possessed a very dark sense of humor that some would rather call pure sadistic tendencies, but Joe loved it. More than that, he found them marvelously funny. In reality, these dark ‘comedians’ all whispered to Joe to use his ‘gift’ to kill, torture and rape. Joe finally did.
At the age of seventeen, he had accomplished his first TRK, as he would call them (Torture, rape and kill). The only evidence that could be traced to him was the fact that the victims normally were dead of frostbite and various cold-related afflictions and his loud, eerie, psychopath laughter that resembles that of a crazed clown only higher-pitched and screamy. Ever since his first kills and the many that have followed, Joe has been a notorious predator and has been miraculously able to stray from the clutches of the authorities.
Until this day, Joe is still the scourge of the weak and helpless. He has always wondered how another ‘special’ or ‘meta’-human like himself would feel like...

- Spoiler:
- Name: Candy Cane formerly Ricky Cruz
Age: 24
Ability: Nerve Control- Candy's power lies in her power to control her sense of touch. She can manipulate so as to feel burning hot in the artic, or incredibly ticklish from an axe wound. Her control lies in the all nerves in her body, and can be passed on to other's through touch. This, however, means that whomever she is touching only feels what she's manipulating in the area she's come into contact with(hands, arm, leg, etc). In order to gain more control over someone she would need to create more contact however, overall body manipulation would be impossible. In addition, the effect Candy has over someone all depends on how hard she's touching them, meaning if she's lightly tapping them the pain won't be more than a pin prick as opposed to if she's squeezing with all her might. The effect she has also varies on the person, seeing as she'd probably have better luck taking down your average John Doe than she would a hulking brick wall of a person.
Side: Evil
Bio: Raised in a single parent household, Ricky grew up in a relatively normal atmosphere considering being raised in the slums with her mother and sister. Her power was discovered at a young age, but considering that her mother hadn't quite thought on the more destructive side of the power never really kept tabs on her child's gift.
Ricky began to go bad around her sophomore year of highschool, where she had begun to experiment with various different types of drugs. Upon graduating with barely there grades Ricky had already gained several charges of assault and three reports of suspected rape. Eventually inability to pay for her drugs caused her to steal from her mother, who in turn sent the seventeen year old to rehab.
Lying her way out of rehab, Ricky made it a point not to return home and instead ran off to Empire city where she became a prostitute, adopting the name Candy Cane, to further support her drug habit. Getting caught up in the more sadistic side of her personality, torturing her clients before dumping them off in a back alley somewhere, Candy had neglected to pay off her drug debts. This, of course, didn't make the drug lords she owed money to all too happy with her.
So, the nineteen year old sought the help of Charlie Lango. Realizing the girl had powers of her own, the man took her under his wing. For the past couple of years Candy has been doing what she calls "outsourcing" in which she goes after people who have left Empire City in attempt to escape Lango on the man's behalf. She also makes business deals, but let's face it, that's no where near as interesting. It wasn't until recently that Candy was called back into Empire City, but not even she knows what for yet.
Appearance:
Candy stands at five foot five, being rather average in height at least. Her hair is long and nearly pin straight, black is her natural color but it isn't uncommon to find Candy with various multicolored streaks or even an entirely new shade of hair. Candy's eyes are a hazel color and slightly upturned with a pair of large lips under a narrow nose. Candy's only constant distinguishable trait is the sparrow tattooed on the inside of her wrist.
Heroes
Anthony Elazegui (Twist) By Buzzwulf
- Spoiler:
- Name: Anthony Elazegui (Twist)
Age: 35
Ability: Spatial-Inertial Conservation: Anthony possesses the ability to make “strings” with his mind. These strings are completely invisible and intangible. However, they are also almost unbreakable. Only with extreme applications of force can the strings be broken, and even then it’s generally whatever they’re attached to that breaks. He can create these strings attached to any point he can see from any point on his body, though is he wishes to attach them to something else, he must touch that thing first. The strings cannot expand or contract in any way (they are not tensile, but more like rods) and so two attached items cannot get closer or farther apart from each other until they are no longer attached. They can, however, still move on an axis. Any strings the he creates fade within a few minutes.
There are several important caveats to this ability. First, Anthony can only attach strings to whatever he can see. Second, a fast-moving target can make it difficult for him to draw a bead on it. Finally, anyone with psionic abilities can snap a string as if it was nothing. Though this may appear to be telekinesis at first (and Anthony takes great pains to make it appear that way), his ability is in many ways more helpful and in others more hurtful than that more common ability.
Side: Hero
Bio: Born in Chicago in 2005, Anthony grew up on the rough size of town, learning to dodge cops as a survival skill. With three brothers, he learned to do things fast: he ate before others stole his food, ran before anyone could kick his ass, and thought before jumping into stupid arguments. He also quickly developed the vocabulary of a sailor with two missing legs and a mouthful of rotten teeth. It was a slow road for him when he first discovered he had powers, and he tried to keep it as quiet as he possibly could. Instead of embracing his abilities, he hid them for years before he acknowledged their presence.
Anthony also discovered early in his life that he had a protective nature. He refused to allow his mother to put their family cat to sleep, helped victims of bullying on the schoolyard, and helped out his brothers when they got into fights. He got something of a reputation as a protector, and kids would go to him if they needed help, though he just professed to do what he could. It was no surprise to anyone when he enlisted in the Chicago Police Department after two years of college, and became a senior investigator within four years. In those crucial years, he learned how to handle a gun, how to tell combatants from non-combatants, and how to investigate a case.
It was a surprise, however, when Anthony enlisted in the FBI. The Federal Bureau welcomed the up-and-coming investigator with open hands, and Anthony found himself with more cases than he knew what to do with. He was quickly re-assigned to the Boston branch of the FBI, and given more leeway to pursue his own investigations with his new partner. In the next five years, Anthony met and fell in love with his wife, Helen Grange, and had a daughter, who they named Melissa. Only to her did he profess his powers, and they both agreed that for the sake of a normal life, he should conceal them.
However, this became impossible when his partner’s life was threatened by a super-powered criminal. In an effort to save his life, Anthony finally used his powers to subdue the dangerous assailant. His partner still lost his left hand, however, but promised to keep Anthony’s secret to the grave. It didn’t matter. The next day, Anthony was contacted by a government agency, calling themselves the “judges”.
The Judges promised Anthony that they would not force him to join the organization, but that he had a unique opportunity to join a group of people pledged to policing to super-powered humans the normal police forces couldn’t touch. Though Anthony was wary at first, the promise of protection lured him around to the Judges way of thinking eventually, and he agreed to work to them. This began a strenuous regimen of testing and training Anthony’s powers and pulling him to his physical peak. Soon after, he was given the callsign “Twist”.
After the training had been completed, the Judge command told him that he would be the first operative in a dangerous, mostly untested environment: Century city. That was two years ago. Melissa is 10 now, and Anthony and Helen are living happily in the suburbs of Century with another baby on the way.
Appearance:
Though Anthony has aged well, He’s never lost some of his rougher temperaments. Outside of his house, he still swears like a sailor, and he never quite manages to shave completely. However, he’s picked up a couple of habits from his FBI days: he’s never without a shoulder-slung sidearm and a belt tazer, and he really likes a well-fit suit, though under it he always wears a light bullet-proof vest. Additionally, he usually wears an earpiece, keeping in contact with the rest of the Judge program, and his standard-issue pair of FBI sunglasses is anything but standard. They have a constant video-feed uplink to the rest of the judge program, and a variety of programs embedded within them allow him to run everything from a head-up-display to a facial recognition system.
- Spoiler:
- Name: Danny Russell (Sundown)
Age: 28
Ability: Solar radiation absorption and expulsion. This means that he absorbs ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation primarily from sunlight (although he can supplement it some with black lights) through his skin, which he can store for short periods of time (about 48 hours maximum), convert it to energy and expel it back as heat and fire through his skin. This can be used to achieve a wide range of effects, from cloaking Danny’s entire body in flames, to channeling heat or fire only through a particular part of his body, usually his hands to provide more directional force. He can also release blasts of fire or heat, which can travel about twenty-five feet before losing energy and dissolving quickly. Danny has recently found that he can also use heat projections to provide him with a certain degree of buoyancy, which he can use to jump higher or across greater distances. He can usually keep enough control to keep his clothes or other objects he's touching from being affected, which keeps him from winding up naked after every battle, although accidents have been known to happen. His powers also have the effect of causing his body to glow whenever he uses them, fluorescing beneath his skin and producing an effect similar to when someone shines a flashlight through their hand. As a result of his powers, he's also immune to most radiation, high temperatures and never gets a sunburn. However, his powers drain very quickly, which means he almost constantly needs to renew them or he'll be left defenseless. This means he usually has to spend at least a few hours outside absorbing sunlight, even more if it's cloudy. Also, his ability to combust and create fire is limited by the quantity of oxygen in the area. Little to no oxygen=no flames, but he can still let of heat, it just won’t combust anything. In short: He’s basically a solar-powered Human Torch.
Side: Heroes
Bio: Danny is a second-generation superhuman, although he didn’t know that growing up, since his mother left his father before Danny was born. His father, Jim Clay, was also known as Thermoform, a low-level super villain who tended to drift between various teams and crews, usually specializing in robbery given his powers allowed him to superheat vault doors and locks, melting straight through them. Danny’s own powers began to manifest slowly at a very young age. At first it was just small things, like the fact that his natural body temperature seemed to be a little higher than the standard 98.7, and he always had more energy when the weather was good and became lethargic and even sick during long spells of bad weather or little sun. These things were usually easy to ignore or dismiss by his mother, until Danny was six years old and playing in the kitchen, where he grabbed at the handle of a pot full of boiling water, which fell off the stove and straight onto Danny’s head. His mother was horrified, only to realize that her son wasn’t screaming in pain and he had no burns whatsoever. After that, ignoring things didn’t work so well and Danny’s powers seemed to keep creeping along in intensity. The final straw came when he was ten years old and he accidentally set his own bed on fire while asleep. After that, his distressed mother put him in the car with a suitcase and they drove straight down into western Texas, to a trailer park about fifteen miles outside of El Paso, where Jim Clay was living.
His mother unceremoniously dumped Danny with Jim, stating that since Danny had inherited his abilities from his father, Jim could take care of it now. By that time, Jim had retired from his criminal past and was working as a plumber. At first life wasn’t easy, with both father and son mistrustful of each other and Danny was terrified of his powers. However, time forged a close bond between them, especially as Jim helped to teach Danny to exert some control over his powers. Jim always urged Danny to stay away from both superheroes and super villains, believing that both heroics and villainry would ultimately only bring him misery and an early death. This attitude influenced what he taught Danny, leaving him with great control over some aspects of his powers, and poor control over others.
When Danny was seventeen, his father’s past caught up with him as member of an old team he’d double-crossed tracked him down and killed him. After hearing the news, Danny followed his father’s instructions for such an event and burned their trailer, taking off with only a bag full of clothes and a stash of money left over from his father’s criminal past. He left El Paso and Texas, hitchhiking and working odd jobs for a while all across the country before settling in Century City.
He was perfectly happy living a quiet life under the radar, tending bar at a local dive bar and putting his own plumbing skills to work as his apartment building’s super. He started a relationship with a local waitress named, Kate, and the two quickly fell in love, moving in together. Danny rarely used his powers, and only in small ways then, usually to help make repairs around the apartments. However, Danny was finally stirred out of his normal life when gang and drug-related violence began to increase in part of the city. He reached a tipping point when in one day, Kate was mugged and a young child was killed in a drive by shooting. About ten months ago, Danny put together a makeshift costume and started scaring the drug dealers and gangs out of the area. It was always supposed to be a temporary thing, but Danny has since found it hard to find a way to stop fighting crime. However, he’s never prepared for anything like Charlie and his people.

- Spoiler:
- Name: Hope
Age: 20
Ability: Bone Manipulation - Hope's major ability is rather unique, to say the least. This power consists of her being capable of manipulating her own bones. From making them much stronger to using them for attack, she can do it all. She can create new bones as well, and manipulate bones outside of the body. So, for example, a bunch of bones could be on the ground, and she could easily manipulate them for either attack, defense, or something else.
As for how much stronger she can make bones, she can make them about two to three times stronger, and at least three times thicker than usual. She is unable to manipulate any bones at all if she doesn't have a line of sight of them, and when making bones appear, it can take around three seconds for them to do so, and during that time, she is vulnerable to attack.
Enhanced Strength and Intelligence - Another ability of hers, although a rather small one. As the name of it might suggest, she has increased strength in comparison to normal humans, as well as increased intelligence. Her strength makes her capable of fight off at least five people at once, while her intelligence puts her in the genius category. There is one rather large issue with her having both enhanced strength and intelligence though; her speed is lower than normal.
Side: Hero
Bio: Hope was a bit of a late bloomer when it came to obtaining her power; it developed soon after the incident that caused her to go to the streets. You see, Hope and her family were rather rich, she leading a rather pampered life. She was a rather snobby girl then and didn't appreciate the finer things in life; her parents were nice, to her at least, though to other people they weren't as nice. One night, a team of robbers broke into her family's mansion and when they were caught in the act, they resorted to violent means.
They had her mother captive, and forced her father to open the safe; soon after he did, the both of them were shot. Hope, hearing the gunshots, soon headed downstairs and was spotted quickly; at the same time she was spotted, she spotted her parents' fresh corpses. When she looked back at the robbers, one had pointed a gun at her; he shot, and she felt no pain, for a wall of bones had arose in front of her. Unsure of what was going on, the girl simply thought about making the robbers go away; soon after she did that, the wall of bones rushed towards the robbers, who fled at the sight.
Soon after the police showed up, and she simply stated that the robbers hadn't wanted to kill a little girl, so had just taken the stuff then left. She didn't want them to learn about what she had done in fear of what they might do or say; she soon started to get shipped off to foster home after foster home. At each one, she usually had problems with the foster home and often ran away from them; one time when she ran way, they didn't come searching for her. She wandered around and found herself in the city. She wasn't able to find her way back to the foster home, and soon took to wandering the streets.
Eventually, after living on the streets for a while, she met the animal that would provide her with the friend she has to this day. She met a cat that was close to giving birth and felt pity for the creature, even though her parents had always told her to leave such mangy creatures alone. She found the creature endearing and soon began to help feed it and give it water, both of which she often stole. Often, she would only manage to steal the cat's food and water before she was discovered and chased off, so she went days at a time without food or water. Eventually, the day came for the cat to give birth, and give birth it did, with some assistance from Hope; unfortunately, after it had birthed its babies, it ended up dying.
Knowing she would be unable to take care of so many kittens, the young girl began to give them away to families that would take them despite them being on the streets; soon, she came to the last one, and decided to keep it for herself. At the time the cat had given birth, she had been eighteen, and had been training her powers for a while. She soon decided to leave the city that she had been wandering the streets of for a while and move to a new city, Century City, where she soon revealed her powers. After she revealed her powers, she soon took up the role of a hero, defeating criminals, mostly in the hope that she would find the ones who had killed her parents.
Appearance: Due to the fact that she spent years on the street, she looks a bit malnourished. She never got her assets to any large size in the slightest, and her face still shows signs of what she endured on the street. Before she had obtained her super strength and intelligence ability, she had gotten in quite a few fights, which explain the numerous cuts on her right cheek, near her ear. She is only 5'2" and weighs in at 130 lbs, which she believes to be the average for her height. She usually looks rather friendly and approachable, unlike her earlier self before her parents' deaths. She allows her pitch black hair to hang rather low, since it ends near the bottom of her back. She has blue eyes in her possession, and also has rather pale skin. The clothes she wears are usually different from day to day, though she never wears what one would consider a stereotypical superhero costume; she usually wears normal clothes. The one constant she does have, however, is a bag strapped around her shoulder, the bag itself hanging at the side opposite of the strap the shoulder is on; inside of the bag is her cat, Muse.
- Spoiler:
- Name: Captain Titanic (Brian Jones)
Age: 34
Ability: Super strength and flight
Side: Heroes
Bio: Brian’s early childhood was just about as close to idyllic as possible. His father was a hard-working lawyer who impressed upon a young Brian the importance of justice. His mother was an overprotective homemaker who tried to shield her children from everything she thought was wrong with the world, even homeschooling them for several years. However, she couldn’t protect them from everything and when Brian was ten, his younger sister, Sarah, drowned in a swimming pool. After that his mother became even more protective and his father grew distant, preferring work over spending time with his stressed family. The trauma of his sister’s death, his father’s absence, and his mother’s increasing neurosis began to wear at Brian’s own psyche, in many ways stunting his emotional and psychological development. Even today a lot of his opinions and views on society could be considered naïve and almost childish by most people.
Things only got worse when Brian’s father abandoned him and his mother for another woman. The additional difficulties following that pushed Brian’s mother over the edge, requiring her to be institutionalized. Sixteen at the time, Brian was sent to live with his very strict grandmother, who continued to home school him. It was about this time that Brian began to develop his powers and a very powerful messiah complex. Feeling terribly guilty over his inability to save his sister, his parents’ marriage, or his mother’s mind, he became determined to save other people from all the bad things in the world. Starting at age nineteen he started putting on a costume and pouring his energy into saving people, which he felt was his destiny. Since then, Brian, or as he’s better known, Captain Titanic, has become a popular figure across Century City. He’s widely known and widely loved, especially by children. Although it’s easy to mock Captain Titanic and his paint-by-number views of morality. He may be little more than an overgrown child pretending to be grownup, but he is trying to help people, even at the expense of the rest of his life, because while Captain Titanic saves the city and gets the glory, Brian Jones lives alone, works in a dead end cubicle job and struggles to pay for his mother’s treatments.

Kimiko Mizuki by Digital Muse
- Spoiler:
- Name: Kimiko Mizuki
Age: 23
Ability: Technopathy - is the psychic ability to sense and control the functions of electronic devices requiring only physical or mental contact with the device, to potentially override security codes and infiltrate an installation with ease by manipulating any electronic device, or sense the presence of electronics (even artificial intelligence). Kimi’s ability manifests in two main ways;
Technokinesis – the mental manipulation of electronic/digital technology, so they can be controlled without need for physical contact, and can be made to function/malfunction according to the user’s will, even being moved and controlled like puppets. Kimi is especially adept at interfacing with computers and similar machines. She uses her ability in various ways, both for legal and illegal purposes. She can manipulate security systems and ‘convince’ ATMs to dispense cash as she desires. She does not need to touch the item she interfaces with, but she must be within close proximity or connected via the internet.
Mechanokinesis – the ability to psychically control motor-run machines by empathically connecting to electrical wiring within cars, kitchen appliances and the like. In the case of controlling non-electronic machinery or motorized machinery, Kimi must exert more energy to control them. She has to be in physical contact with the machine and must concentrate to remain in control. She can drive a car with her mind, for example, but it takes a great deal of effort. Kimi also has an innate understanding of the inner workings of machines and can easily take things apart and rebuild them in new and creative ways.
An advanced Technopath can get machines to work when power sources have been cut off, or get access to numerous illegal codes, or pull up files which were supposedly deleted off one’s computer years ago, and permanently delete or lock away files one wished to keep top secret (in a location in cyberspace to which only the user would have access), among numerous other things.
Side: Neutral
Bio: Kimiko was raised in a traditional Japanese family. She got the best education her parents could provide as middle management workers in Tokyo. Kimi’s abilities manifested very early on in her childhood. She was forever taking apart every toy or electronic component in her family’s small apartment. Her parents were terrified Kimi would inadvertently electrocute herself and punished her for using her abilities. They repeatedly exhorted her not to ever reveal her Meta-ability due to the intense bias against ‘the Changed’ in conservative Japanese society.
Kimi, however, was too fascinated with the inner workings of machines and computers and secretly honed her skills as a hacker, calling herself a Technomancer in the hacker’s inner world. She and other friends spent time hacking bank systems, government agencies and in the name of ‘the good of the people’, they regularly interfered with corrupt government officials, international drug traffickers or just someone that they noted needed to be taken down a few pegs.
Along the way, the more imbedded in the hacker culture, the anti-Electronic Terrorism squad was closing in on Kimi and her friends. In house raid after another, Kimi’s friends were rounded up quickly. One managed a single command before being dragged from his bedroom. That single command warned everyone in the hacker underground of what had happened and almost instantly everything that had been a Hacker Underground disappeared and the remaining members along with them.
Kimi, given her abilities, easily obtained a legal passport and money to travel. She arrived in Century City. Two years have passed since that day and Kimi has easily slipped into the routine and patterns of the city. Her ability has afforded her more work than she can possibly have wanted. So much so, that she actually moved her parents to the beautiful city of Osaka and their own house. As she had before, Kimi has become involved in a Hacker Underground, but in this city that attracts Meta-beings, rumors soon cropped up about her unusually successful abilities. Forced to keep moving to avoid the authorities, Kimi eventually will have to decide just which side of the law she will finally camp upon.
Appearance:
- Spoiler:
- Name: Davis
Age: 28
Ability: Davis can take massive physical damage from his incredible healing abilities. He seems to take no physical damage from most attacks such as knives, bullets, small explosions, when in fact he heals them once they breach the skin. This ability comes from cybernetic blood cells that were injected into his bloodstream as a child. They have enhanced the flow of blood in his body to extreme levels, causing every organ to function faster and the healing process to be virtually instant.
However, no matter how fast the healing process is, the abilities Davis possess have a huge downside. The overexertion of his organs has put huge strain on them, causing immense pain inside his body at all times. Without the numbing of his pain, Davis is virtually immobile. (This has caused him to resort to many of the habits that are described in the bio.) Doctors have repeatedly estimated his death within the next few years due to massive organ failure.
Side: Neutral
Bio: From the beginning, Davis was just a number, he was immediately put up for adoption by his mother, who didn't give him a first name, he just kept his mother's last name Davis, and that's what he has been known as sense. Davis remembers staying at the orphanage for five years, before being adopted by a man called Mr. Willman.
Mr. Willman was a scientist, a doctor of sorts. He has a lot of children around the house, and Davis remembered them one by one being taken away, until Davis was the one left. Davis remembers the screams of the children, but he never truly understood what Mr. Willman was doing until he experienced it himself. Mr. Willman was experimenting on children, and Davis was the only survivor of them. All Davis remembers is being injected with something, and he couldn't remember anything past that, all he could remember was screams, he didn't know if they were his or not, but from then on, all he felt was pain.
Davis tried everything to end the pain over the years, he tried to kill himself multiple times, but his body wouldn't allow it, even bullets to the head were healed too quickly for death. Mr. Willman was eventually found out, and tried, convicted of 12 counts of murder, and sentenced to death. Davis was swapped around adoption agencies until he was taken in by the government, no places could handle his screams and strange abilities. Eventually Davis went into the army, easily passing physical tests and he immediately made it to the front lines of many battles due to his massive damage intake.
However, in one sense, Davis found a purpose for his abilities, but he also found a temporary solution to his problem, painkillers. Davis would sneak into the infirmary and steal many different numbing drugs, oxycodone, morphine, and in extreme circumstances, massive amounts of ibuprofen. Even though it is a temporary numbing, Davis quickly began using the drugs more frequently to end his internal pain, and the infirmary began watching it's drug supply closely and he was caught. Immediately, Davis was discharged from the army.
Davis has spent the last eight years in Century City, either in a bar drinking away his pain, or working some low-end mercenary job. With a war looming, He now figures he should step up and choose a side, but everyone has their price.
Appearance:
- Spoiler:
- Name: Parker Moore
Age: 27
Ability: Necrosis: Parker has the ability to induce decomposition in inanimate objects. Usually physical contact is needed for the decomposition process to begin, The further along the rotting the longer contact must be maintained. However, during times of extreme stress a “field” of sorts can be projected; anything coming within the decomposes at a rapid rate. Projecting the field is very draining though and will quickly exhaust him if it is maintained for longer than a minute. He can also reverse the decomposition, though doing so requires significantly more effort than causing decomposition.
Parker has a theory that he can also cause necrosis on living tissue; believing that it was locked behind a mental barrier during his stay in Ward 13 of the Merriweather Psychiatric Institute. There is no evidence to support this theory; on a faint memory and the ravings of a psychotic mind.
Side: Neutral
Bio: Parker Moore has never been the most…stable person. Even as a child he had violent fits and episodes; lashing out at other children and destroying mirrors and any reflective surfaces, plagued by horrors that only he could fathom. His parents tried their best to raise him right in those early years, but he showed no signs of improvement.
As the years went on, he discovered his power. It fascinated him. To be able to cause the destruction of things, to hold power over how quickly they rotted, to turn back the tides of time and bring something back to perfection. He thrilled in it, and began to use it to get what he wanted. He grew more and more violent, threatening even his own family members. The last straw came when he grievously wounded his young cousin during a family visit. After much debate it was decided that 15 year old would be sent to the Merriweather Psychiatric Institute; there he would receive professional help and hopefully have a chance of some recovery.
He spent five years there, and showed little signs of recovery. When he turned 20, he went into a fit that was far worse than any that had been witnessed previously. He killed his attendants, and using his powers escaped, the building rotting and collapsing from within. He fled, leaving behind a mess that would take weeks to clean up and even longer for it to be discovered that he was missing.
Two years ago he found his way to Century city, and has been roaming the streets ever since, a trail of havoc left in his wake.

Re: We Are One Reboot OOC (CLOSED)
I don't know that it will matter, but I'll be gone until Sunday evening driving across the state to a friend's bachelorette party. I'll be both away from a computer and way too inebriated to post. I tried to get a post done beforehand, but my boss is going crazy, like certifiably crazy, and has been making us all do crazy overtime. My post is almost done, so it WILL be up before I go to bed on Sunday night.

lolz.
Also, I'm working on a revised edition of the first newspaper post. If anyone has any stories that they'd like to see in the "evening edition" of the Century Icon, please, please PM me with ideas. I don't want to reference any of the characters directly yet (except possibly Captain Titantic, who is really the only high-profile hero), but if you've done something noteworthy in the public eye recently, I'd love to write about it.

Other than 'Emoria: the movie' (it can have another name like Emoria: Morgaraths return) add, I have nothing to add to your newspaper for now.

Hm...any ideas on how to get my character involved with any of yours? Kinda need something for her to do...

If you want to interact with Joe, anything you come up with is fine. And, when I mean anything, I quite mean anything.
If you want to discuss ideas, PM me.

Re: We Are One Reboot OOC (CLOSED)
There we go! Finally got a Captain Titanic post up. It was harder than I thought because I want to tread a fine line between playing off old superhero cliches and creating a genuine tragic hero. I'm not even sure I entirely pulled it off, but I'm satisfied with the start.

It's a mix of me and Dax. But sorry to say Manda is in the hospital (we still don't know whats wrong) so I have been spending most of my time there. And when I do find time on here it is not much before I head back over. If you guys can put up with a few more days or two of my limited connectivity I will have a post up with Dax ASAP.
