Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
So, this was supposed to be a 1-on-1 RP, but it was suggested that perhaps I made it an Open RP.
The idea is that our RP is going to take place in two separate worlds: our world, and then Emoria - a world I came up with that brings to life the idea of all other life forms (Vampires, Lycans, the Fair Folk, Warlocks/ Witches, Nephilim, and more or less Demons). Demons aren't exactly logical intelligent beings, they're considered a menace and danger to all who dwell in Emoria and were long ago banned from the world, making it so if any of the other five races see them they're to kill them. Which is no problem because like I said they're soul less creatures who just feast upon the flesh of all other living things.
Anywho, the plot of the idea is that the treaty that has bound the five races together for so long is beginning to crumble and no body knows why. Wars are sprouting up between the races and lines are being divided. The only race to have noticed for some reason are the Nephilim (which is what my character will be) and since no one else will listen to reason they have taken matters into their own hands to find out what's behind not only the division of the races but also the sudden out breaks of demonic activities that have sprouted up all over the globe. While typically all of the races are supposed to work together to keep Emoria free of such incidents, as everyone other than the Nephilim have taken arms against one another they have seemed to turn a blind eye to the demonic race.
Initially what my plot revolves around is that there is one character, a mortal, in particular who for some reason has become the center point of demonic attention and where the High Council of the Nephilim believes it to be nothing, a few others believe that this person might know something that could be the key to everything that has been occurring. Only problem is that this character has lost his memory, so we have to find out.
First come first serve with that particular character (who must be male)! Everyone else's character can be anything other than a demon, however please keep in mind that since everyone is at war distrust will play a key role in this RP. For instance don't entirely expect everyone to get along at first and just so long as no one murders any one else's character or GM's anything goes!
Now anyone interested in saving Emoria? ^_^

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Just to show you exactly how old this place Emoria is, here's a map I drew like...about two years ago. Lol. Still it's good enough for the plot line of our RP so if you'd like to begin composing character's here is a general map idea.
MAP OF EMORIA
Any questions just ask.

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Okay, so I have a character in mind. She's actually the character I had created to be involved in The Pub before it fell through, but that's okay because now I can fashion her to be a part of this role play if you'll have her. I'm going to fix her profile a bit to fit this role play better, but I want your approval on her after that. She's probably not the most... conventional character. I'm not sure if she would be acceptable as-is.
I do have a question about your map. It shows all of the countries and the landscape, but which races are native to which countries? That will definitely help me a lot in updating my character to fit this role play.
{EDIT}
How does the modern world come into play in this game?

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
First off Emoria is pretty much exactly like our world just only slightly different. Emorian's don't believe in cars all that much so you won't find many. Now they do still use them. They have skyscapers, corporate businesses, amusement parks and whatnot in specific cities. There are humans that dwell in Emoria however they are rather limited and are usually only there because they are married to an Emorian. Mortas aren't exactly able to cross the barriers between worlds all that easily because they don't usually believe in it. However, if they are aware of the world, and truly believe in it they are able to pass freely back and forth between the barrier.
As for racial territories, the treaty made it to where the races were free to roam and over the centuries everyone has sort of melted together save for a special case which would be the Fair Folk who mostly detest the modernization of the world around them. So there are no countries that are particularly native to any sort race, they are home to everyone.
Brenlin: Residential capital of the Fair Folk. Illian is the least technological place you'll find in Emoria. A lush land of trees and meadows residents here usually live either in the trees or in the ground. Illian is spacifically known as the City of Glass. All of the buildings (houses and such) are made in this metallic silver that reflects everything. Think LOTR if you will, just shinier.
Dion: AKA the Deadlands, Dion was once a thriving beautiful country, however back before the treaty it was burned and destroyed in a nuclear holocaust caused by the demon known as Vlere. Typically the only reason why the treaty came into being was in order to defeat Vlere and once they had everything began to cool down. Took centuries to build trust between the races but it was possible, and until recently effective. Derville is a ruined city, desolate and abandoned.
Har: This town is specifically on this map because it is where the Hall of Council is located. This is where the treaty was written up and where council is held upon call wherein a representative of each race (usually their Kings/Queens, Alphas, Leaders, etc.) is summoned and matters are settled.
Did I answer you're questions any?

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Okay... So if Brenlin is the least technologically advanced, which country is the most technologically advanced, or are the rest all equal except for Dion which is pretty much in ruins?
Aside from humans, are all the other races ((Daemons, Faeries, Lycans, Nephilim, Vampires, and Warlocks/ Witches)) able to freely move between worlds?
Are there portals ((if so, do they have specific locations?)) between them, or does it take some force of magick or will to cross between them?
How exactly are the two worlds going to be incorporated together into the plot? I understand that it's going to basically take place on Emoria, but I'm still confused about what our world has to do with it. Is the human in question going to be from our world and end up sucked into Emoria like Kagome from Inu Yasha?

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Lol.
Every other country is going to be equal, yes, except for Dion...of course.
Yes, the races are able to move between the worlds freely, and as I mentioned earlier it is simply a thing of will and belief. There are no specific portal however there are rules and consequences. Say a vampire or lycan comes into our world and changes someone, they are stripped from our world and brought to Emoria where they live the rest of their lives. However changing a human is only presented to those of status meaning not just any vampire can pop into our world and change someone.
Basically our world comes into play at select moments in the RP. The beginning when my character is looking for the specified human (of which your characters can run into us there or in Emoria, choice is up to you) and then later on when the demonic presence further amplifies themselves and transport to our world.

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
I knew you mentioned that earlier, but I wasn't sure if that only qualified for humans or for Emorians, too.
Mmkay. Sounds great. I'll finished editing my character to fit this rp tomorrow.

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Quick question, I suppose - are all the races playable? I have always wanted to try my hand at a Lycan (werewolf-ish, I'd imagine?) But I'm not so sure that what I imagine such a creature to be would mesh well with your ideas? Or... is it possible you would be giving those in your RP the chance to build on a few things themselves, in your world?
All right... that didn't come out as a single question, did it? hahahaha Ah well, maybe you won't mind just sorta working around the new person a bit?

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
I'm giving you character's freedom to, as you say, create whatever you wish so long as it doesn't interfere directly with the plot and it's not entirely and completely outlandish. ^_^
Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
And yes a werewolf is the same thing as a lycan. Are you wanting to play a werewolf or what? And how is it that you believe 'such a creature would mesh with my ideas'?
Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
What I meant was, I wasn't sure if the "rules" of any werewolf character I come up with, would be the same "rules" of the lycans in Emoria. I'm probably overthinking this (wouldn't be the first time... heh) but by rules, I simply mean limitations, abilities, community organization, origins, etc.
And yes, I'd love to try my hand at a werewolf character (or rather, Lycan). As a matter of fact, I ha-
~*muffled whining comes from a nearby box, as it tips back and forth precariously. Rolls up a newspaper, brandishing it menacingly with a whispered hiss, "Hush, no it's not time yet, she hasn't said it's all right... "
The whining turns to a whimper that eventually dies away entirely, as the box stills again. *~
*ahem* Anyway yes, I'd be very interested in a werewolf character...

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Okay. I have my character ready, now.
Nuryah/Lilura Vespera
If there's anything you think wouldn't work with the role play, let me know, and I'll do my best to fix it.

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Well Sigh, I'm not picky, really. I can always play werewolf-ish-ness another time, and I'll gladly play the amnesiac human guy. I've RP'd men before, if that would not be a problem with you? And would I need to arrange for his amnesiac episode, if you would like me to take him, or would that be something you already have in mind?

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
If you're up to playing him that's perfectly fine! The general idea is for him to wake up in the hospital with no recollection whatsoever. I mean there are people (or rather demons who look like people) all around him who are telling him he was in some sort of accident and that he's been in a coma for two weeks (I narrowed that down). Everything about him will be revealed throughout the RP. ^_^
Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Hmmm... I'd be up for that, to play the amnesiac. Do I get to choose his appearance, and "non-relevant" portions of his personality that come out like... say... ability to play an instrument, or draw, or the like?
Even if the answer is no, you have your hospitalized amnesiac, if you like.

Yes Igraine. The character is completely yours. Just things will change as the RP progresses. ^_^
And yay! I'll go ahead and start writing out my first post.

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
I am so sorry to do this, but I think I may have put too much on my plate, and since this is the only role play in which I have yet to post, this is the role play that I'm going to have to deny myself. My drive took a really big hit when I started feeling depressed, and I already have two role plays here and another one on another site that are occupying my time. The one on the other site works in such a way that it's more like several role plays within the same universe, so there will be several threads going at once to which I must reply, so it's like playing in several role plays.
Again, I am really sorry, and I feel especially bad since only one other person wanted to do this. =\ I honestly hope I'm not killing this by stopping before I begin, but I know for a fact if I started it, I would kill it ((and other role plays)) through lack of posting.

*hugs Kathryn* So much better to know you can't do something, and say so beforehand, methinks. *sage nod*
But, Sigh, IF this were something you'd like to do or could do one-on-one even, I'd have no problem filling in the same role, and then perhaps expanding a bit later if need be? Just a thought...

Yeah well I was thinking of putting this on hold for a while anyway. At least until we get more takers.

Re: Tales of Emoria - Broken Remnants
Let me know whenever you plan on restarting this. I've been so caught up in getting things up and running with my RP that I haven't had a chance to browse too many others. Fortunately I finally have mine started, thus taking a lot off my plate, giving me time for another RP.
When you do plan on starting, I would like to play the roll of the mortal (Igraine can finally let that poor Lycan out of its box XD). But I would also like to know a few things about his role. Will you provide me with any remembered information or will I have to come up with it on my own? (I hope it is the former so that I don't risk derailing the RP) Also, will you be guiding me OOC so that I know what I should be doing to keep the RP on track and moving in the direction you were planning? Just let me know when you plan on restarting this RP and I'll happily jump on board as the fragile human
