Storyline Choice?
Warhammer 40K
I realize this may be a bitch move, but this isn't a real interest check. Well, it kind of is, but it's kind of... let's say this is the starving African kid of interest checks. Except this one doesn't try to guilt-trip away your money, but only your interest.
Okay, enough of that. Hank wanted me to make a 40K role play, and I sort of kind of got in the mood. Would anyone consider joining it?
Of course, I'll make a real interest check once I know it's worth the effort to do one. Oh, and I should tell you beforehand that you won't be able to play Grey Knights.
I think I just heard the sound of 90% of the 40K community losing interest...

Re: Warhammer 40K
Well, I for one am interested. My friends and I have been dabbling with the Warhammer 40,000 Dark Heresy table-top roleplaying game with decent success. And better still, I've no interest in playing Space Marines of any kind...or space elves...orks, Tau or anything of the sort. I dabble in the glorious and underappreciated world of the average joe Guardsman! Or just the average joe, depending on where you want the game to go.
Heck, my favorite character in the table-top game is a 12 year old Guardsman conscript that is only working for the Inquisition because of a clerical error.

Re: Warhammer 40K
I had a character I really liked in a Warhammer 40k RP back on RPG, but the thread sort of...died.
I say go for it.

Re: Warhammer 40K
I can do Warhammer 40K. And yeah, I had a character in a thread that just kind of died.
I'm flexible about character types.

Someone should PM all these guys to see if they're still interest! There are enough people here for a good role play!

You got any RP ideas brewing, story wise? I'm up for just about anything. And I'll toss some messages towards the others who have posted on here to try and draw them back in.

I'm still interested, pending details.
Thanks for the private message, or I would have missed this.

I'm interested. Valhallan Sergeant here.
Most 40k RP's either have a Kill-Team theme or a stellar Conquer-This-World storyline.

Re: Warhammer 40K
I am interested as well. I just joined up from RPGFO, where for some reason there is a strict bias against 40k. Every last Warhammer RP I have participated in over there met with a gruesome and untimely death. I have a character already worked out; one that I have used twice now on RP's that have died. I hope to be able to use him again. Has an OOC for this already been started, or are we still in the planning process as to what a plot and such will be?

Re: Warhammer 40K
Brilliant! So much interest!
I was thinking of trying something new actually, that would allow us to all play a character of our own preference! A group of individuals become stranded together and have to work as a team to survive whatever events surround them.
It would of course help if we all want to be part of Imperial forces, but Eldar and Tau individuals could work, albeit strenuously, with humans. Chaos, Orks, Necrons and Dark Eldar would all of course have no interest or chance of working with any Imperial forces, so if you want to be them you would have to be on the antagonist side.
So, does this sound alright to everyone or are there any other ideas?

Re: Warhammer 40K
I kinda like that idea. The whole stranded on a planet approach. There are all sorts of weird things that could happen. And as for how such a hodge podge collection of people both horrid Xenos and pure God-Emperor fearing humans got there is an easy explanation: The Warp! Blame the Warp!

Re: Warhammer 40K
It could work. The Xenophobia would be really interesting to RP, especially Tau 'REPENT' kind.

Re: Warhammer 40K
I think we have more than enough interest to start and OOC thread to get characters up, and the plot finalized. I assume the original creator of the topic is no longer with us, but we might as well just start up on our own.

Re: Warhammer 40K
Say wha-? You guys just go and hijack my game?
Sure, I abandoned it and all, but... okay, I guess that's a good reason.
I still have the game idea and all, but I never was the kind of person who'd make a game to let people play whatever characters they want. If I'm to revive that game, Mechanicus, Space Marines, Guardsmen and (possibly) Tau might be playable, but I don't want a single person making up a character before the game intro is up and then trying to jam it in. That kind of thing does not make for good characters - I'm just saying.
Of course, if you want to make a game of your own, far would it be from me to stop you.
And yeah, sorry for being late. I don't check my mail that often.

Well it is up to the people then.
Do you want to do M@XWeru's idea or mine?
I don't mind, I'll join either one.

Hells, I'm up for both. But maybe the better approach would be presenting both ideas and letting the over all decision be made then? Who knows, maybe it'll be an even split for either idea.

No offense to M@XWeru, but I'll go with the guy that's been around. Stability and all.

Re: Warhammer 40K
For presentation reasons, I'll just state the basic idea.
Mine will be a labyrinthine horror game, taking place on a moon-sized space station by the Tau-Imperium border. As the station's troops are winning a battle against the fish-faced xenos, the area is suddenly, and without warning engulfed by Empyrean energies. Imperials and Tau alike are caught in the maelstrom, separated and isolated, and about to find out just how hostile a warp storm can be.
The game's title will be, Warhammer 40.000: Thinking with Portals.

Re: Warhammer 40K
This is assuming we take Max's idea.
Since I lean towards Chaos, would it be alright if I played a Chaos Guardsman, at least later in the game, probably one who started out alright and then for whatever reason fell to temptation/damnation.
If we play with Tempest's, I'd be most likely to play a Traitor Legionnaire, or again, a fallen Guardsman. Personally, I agree with HeySeuss about stability, and I also like this idea better.
My two bits.

Re: Warhammer 40K
I'm fond of both ideas for various reasons. M@XWeru's idea because the char bio I already have on here is geared towards that side of the galaxy and could quite easily be there. And the other for the glorious Xenophobia issues not so heavily present in my created char's not so Imperialistically stiff brain.
Hmm...this is a bit of an issue. *plots and ponders*

To make this easier and keep track of things, shall I insert a poll?
EDIT: Added the poll, I won't vote obviously but the rest of you should!
