Introduction: LittleSun1 Empty Introduction: LittleSun1

Post by LittleSun1 Sat May 29, 2010 5:44 pm

General
Hello, my name is LittleSun1. You can call me Kim. I'm 15 years old, live on the east coast of the USA, and am a freshman in High School. I play Softball during the summer, spring, and fall.

I spend most of my spare time writing fiction, reading, phasing out with my iPod, and just... Thinking I guess.

Currently I'm working on a four part story focusing on Halfmen (Urban half-demons), which I started last night at approximately 12 am.

Favorites

Lost, Futurama, and Prison Break are my most watched television shows and Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, and Dean Koontz (Even though many of his characters are sickeningly marysue) are my favorite authors. I'm a former Harry Potter and (please don't kill me) Twilight junkie and I'm in love with the Hellboy universe! I love books, shows, and movies that both touch me, force me to think about the world in a different light, and stick with me long after I'm done with them.

Roleplay History

I began roleplaying around age 11 on Neopets. I then moved onto Gaia, which I eventually ditched in favor of RolePlayGateWay. I suppose I've come here because I've been having such a hard time finding other roleplayers within the same ability range and with the same interests on that site, which resulted in a lot of failed roleplaying oppotunities. My preferred genres are modern-fantasy and sci-fi, but I'll give anything dark, gritty, strange, and/or realistic a chance (along with anything else that happens to catch my fancy).

I dislike large roleplays so I'll probably be sticking to 1x1's and groups of four or less. I don't GM (If I come up with an idea I useually too selfish to want to share.) and, as you can probably see, the 2/4 paragraph minimum definitely won't be a problem (Which, I suppose, is both a good and a bad thing). Oh and, also, I've never taken part in a roleplay that's made it past the 3 page mark. That's my goal in coming here I guess, to complete a single roleplay (And, of course, to improve my writing in any way I can.).

So that's that.
Hello,

Welcome to FOG, Sun! =) I definitely don't think you'll have a problem finding roleplays here, and I hope you pass your 3-page mark!

Welcome to the swirling mists!

Just remember that quality is always preferred over quantity. But alas a finished role-play is very nice, aye!

New role plays and interest checks pop up all the time so you should have no trouble finding something to your liking. When it comes to one on ones even the vaguest idea seems to start them. And with vague idea I mean so vague that's almost only a list of what the role-player likes to rp.

It seems you've already read some of the rules, but I'm sure someone will link you them if you missed something. If you have any questions just post them here andI'll get to see who can answer the fastest.

Otherwise I want to recommend the chat room, that's usually lively during the evening, but people can be found online there on all hours, since not everyone is American (I'm Swedish for example).

Once again, welcome! I hope you enjoy yourself.

Welcome to FOG, Kim! You're definitely in the right place for high-quality role-playing and excellent writing skills. I started role-playing at another site as well, so I can understand your frustration at not finding fellow writers with as much skill. Based just on your intro, you seem like a very eloquent writer with an excellent grasp of grammar and mechanics. You say you're 15? I've met people in college that still struggle with stuff like that, and it makes my inner grammar Nazi cringe.

As Miss Dagger already said, we have interest checks starting all the time, but I would also encourage you to consider posting your own interest checks if you so desire, especially in the 1x1 forum. However, I've never GM'd a role-play either, so I can also understand your feeling of being "selfish" about your story ideas.

Anyway! I think I've prattled on enough. Enjoy your stay, and have tons of fun!

Just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcomes Lara, Miss Dagger, and SilvanArrow! I have to say, the whole 'advanced and expert role-playing society' thing made me a little nervous that I'd get shot on sight for forgetting a period or something, but everyone I've had contact with (in the forms and chat) have been really nice!

Oh, and I'll definitely be putting up an interest check sometime soon, probably just a 'this is what I'm into' type thing, but who knows. Maybe there's someone out there looking for the same kind of thing as me. Or, at least, I hope so.

Thanks again, hope to see you guys around the site x )

Hey Sun

Just thought I might as well get my welcome to you on here as well.

I know how you feel about making roleplays. I just don't have that spark that is there to make GM'ing a roleplay easy for me.

But anyways, I don't move into the 1x1 area at all, but I'm sure I'll see you around somewhere. Good hunting with the roleplays!

Yours truly

There's always a bunch of good 1x1 RPs popping up every couple of days. It you get a little impatient, simply post a list of stories that interest you in the interest check thread and you're bound to find a few takers. Even if you aren't interested in leading the RP, I is likely that you'll find somebody who will as long as there is something on said list that catches their eye.

And don't let the Advanced section deter you; it's mostly to deter AIM speakers and one-sentence posters. A category that you obviously don't fall under.

I hope you enjoy your stay here and look forward to seeing you in the IC forums! Very Happy

Thanks quakernuts and Loki! I'm sure we'll see each other around, I don't intend to stay in the 1x1 forever, I just think it'd be easier to finish a roleplay with less moving parts. Of course, if anything looks too interesting, that can go out the window! ;D

And I'm going to take a look at Fear the Boot quakernuts, I love podcasts, so thanks for the link in your sig. haha

Well, to be perfectly honest...

Fear the boot was something that just came onto the top of my head while playing Gears of war, and I have no idea what the podcast is actually about. The saying underneath the picture I just completely made up.

You're welcome to go look at it, but I never have. I just used their picture. XD

Greetings, LittleSun! Here’s some advice so that you don’t get lost in the spiral mists.

Introduction: LittleSun1 Welcom10

Welcome to Footsteps of Ghosts!

Check out our rules, etiquette and "What is FOG?" sections.

If you want to discover our newest features or share feedback about the site, stop by the news and announcements area. If you have any trouble using the forum itself, try the FAQ.

If you have any questions, our staff will be more than happy to assist you.

We also have a chat room if you would like to talk to our members now.

Take a moment to browse our forums and perhaps find a role-play to your liking, a place to receive input on your works of literature or simply to converse with people of similar interests.

I also frequented Neopets when I was younger and role-played there. I am also on Gaia and check for role-plays from time to time. I never could get into RolePlayGateway though.

We seem to have much in common as far as internet origins go.

Welcome to FOG, LittleSun!

I'm a bit late on the welcome wagon, but that's alright! Right?

Anywho, I think you'll fit right in here on FOG and judging from you jumping into the deep end right off the bat you've got a good handle on how things work, so I won't bore you with suggestions or anything. I'm sure that I'll see you around at some point, though I don't really frequent one-on-ones.

I hope you enjoy your stay here in the swirling mists!
